Ordered some replacement gas hob knobs. These were 3rd-party manufactured and as it turns out, they hadn't quite got it right and consequently they didn't work. I therefore returned them to Bartyspares for a refund on that basis, and it was processed and refunded the same day they received them. BartySpares. Two Faulty Vacuum Cleaner Motors. Replaced the First, but Failed to Refund for the Second and its Return Postage
I ordered a vacuum cleaner motor from BartySpares, when it arrived the carbon brush assembly had been smashed out of shape but not due to faulty packaging. I sent photos and it was quickly replaced within a few days. Barty spare included a return label with the replacement motor.
However, the replacement motor carbon brush assemblies again were damaged with one of brass brush housings jammed up against the motor commutator. Also the fan housing was jammed against the fan blade, thus preventing the motor from turning.
I contacted BartySpares again, and again sent photos of the faults, but this time they totally ignored me, so I got onto PayPal to claim a refund. PayPal tried to contact them but they did not reply. Therefore, PayPal found in my favor and I had a refund for the full cost of the motor.
I have also claimed return postage for returing the second faulty motor, but BartySpares are still ignoring my claim, of which is in accordance with their terms and conditions because the item was faulty.
I've been an engineer since the late 1960's and this is the worst service I've ever experienced!

Excellent customer service. I ordered an item incorrectly from their eBay shop, so contacted them to find the correct part. Response from Clint was quick, friendly and he pointed me in the direction of the correct part. The correct part arrived quickly, and returning the incorrect part for a refund was painless. Thanks very much.

Awful. The product was not as described, was terrible quality and expensive (the expense and photos suggesting it would be higher quality), also damaged (possibly from being sent with so little packaging) and when I complained there was no regret at my dissatisfaction, let alone an actual apology. Communication was rude and Andy said "all cooker knobs are plastic" which simply isn't true I've just got some metal ones from another supplier. In any case, Barty's "chrome" is badly made even for plastic, with bubbles and scuffs in the spray paint.

Unsatisfactory warranty period of 90 days!
Bought a replacement hose for Miele vacuum cleaner on eBay July 2024 but retaining lugs broke off in less than six months. Andy stated warranty period only 90 days and would therefore not refund cost. Warranty period not stated on eBay website and in any case I would expect an item like this to last more than six months. Unhappy.

I can't praise Bartyspares more they were so very helpful when I was struggling to find cooker knobs for a cooker over 25 years old.
The cooker belonged to an elderly relative and he was over the moon to get them.
They arrived quickly and well packaged and we are so pleased with the service we got.

Poor customer service
I ordered an extra long vacuum hose on the
31 Jul, 2024, for use in my garage to make vacuuming the car easier due to my lack of mobility since my stroke. Having only used it a few times it was very handy. I remove the hose from the vacuum the other day and when I came to refit it, it fell out. I can only presume that the locator tabs are the issue so I contacted Barty spares to ask them about warranty or the possibility of a generous discount on a replacement hose end because the item is less than 3 months old and virtuallyno use. I received a reply a couple ofdays later from Andy who didn't apologise for the failure, mention the warranty or even entertain the idea of a helpful discount but just a blunt, unsympathetic response of "we sell them" and added the part number. I feel really let down by this response and lack of help or understanding with a part that has failed.
