Excellent

Excellent, do get the 2 day ticket otherwise you will not have time to do all the tours

Our Hong Kong experience

Our Hong Kong experience was brilliant. We used all the routes but didn't necessarily complete all circuits. The green route, the trip to Stanley has some breathtaking scenery.
The buses were all clean and driven well.
There were no problems changing any of the vouchers for any of the other experiences; harbour tour, Sky 100, etc.
Good value for money.

The bus did not run every 30 minutes as stated. We got off at one stop and had to wait over 1 hour, it was 1 hour fifteen minutes. WE wanted to do another line and asked if we had time to do the ferry and make the loop on the other side and they attendant said yes. Our hotel was off the red line and wanted to be able to use the bus go get back to our hotel. Well needless to say the last bus on the red line left early and we ended up taking a taxi back to our hotel as our hotel. With the price they charge in comparison to other countries the 9-5p is not long enough even with us having the 72 hour pass you barely have time to do all three loops and do the extra excursion that are part of what you pay for. They really need to run longer so you have time to do all three lines and really get on and off

Fantastic Tour!

The Hong Kong Big Bus Tour was fantastic! It goes all around Hong Kong Island - we saw amazing places we never expected to see! Tickets are
valid for 24 hours so the next day we did the Kowloon part of the Tour and again it was very good. This is a "must do" if you are in Hong Kong for a few days!

Do your own thing

Doing the Hopon Hopoff bus was one of my best shore excursions. I am on a cruise and booked my own ticket online. For what my fellow travelers paid for 1day I paid for 2 days and a ride in a sampan, tram up Victoria Peak ferry rides both ways and an hour tour of the harbor. I had a great two days

Great!

All in all a great experience and good value for money. Very much enjoyed the inclusive trip on the water aboard a sampan. Plenty of staff to point visitors in the right direction and with Star Ferry tickets included for Hong Kong Island from Kowloon, as said, good value.
If considering the Peak Tram rather than the Sampan inclusive trip, just make sure It's not a misty day, otherwise you obviously won't see much.
Great to be able to hop-on/off at various destinations.
One small irritation on one of our green line buses...the driver went too fast, making photo taking something of a challenge! It was a rather rough ride - but out of several bus trips that only happened once.
Recommended.

Not Worth It!!!!

We had several bad experiences.
About 8 of us were on the Blue Line tour and wanted to get off at the stop to go back to the Star Ferry. The driver didn't stop at either 11 or 15. Instead he went to the end of the line and got off the bus. Also he was extremely rude.
On the Green Line we got back to Central and wanted to get on the Red Line. We were told to get on the first bus. It turned out to be another Green Line bus and we found ourselves back in Stanley.
One time on the Red Line we waited an hour for a bus.
This operation in Hong Kong needs a lot of improvement. I will be posting reviews on social media.

The BIg Bus is the best way to see Hong Kong. We found the 2 day ticket with additional activities really good value, we particularly liked the green Island route and our stop at Stanley, and the sampan trip at Aberbeen.
However, we experienced significant problems with reliability. We did raise our concerns with the BB operatives but they simply shrugged them off. Having to wait for 55 minutes from scheduled time for a bus at Man Mo Temple would indicate that they do not run a 30 minute service as advertised. Sure there is a lot of traffic, but if a bus sets off every 30 minutes, despite the traffic, it should arrive every 30 minutes or so at subsequent stops. Also, if you book online as we did you need to be aware that you must go to the main ticket office to exchange your internet confirmation for paper tickets.

Apart from those gripes we would use the BB again in Hong Kong ,

HK Big Bus Tours

Our 10-year-old son absolutely loved the BigBusTours! We got the two day tour with all the perks, Including the Star ferry tour and peak tram, which were both amazing! We should’ve saved our Kowloon tour for night time, because they were exactly the same. Having a live guide in the night tour would improve the night tour immensely.

A great way to see the city

A great way to see the city and get your bearings on where the sights to see are. You really need the two day pass as just too much to take in for one day. Also a good way to get to the ferries and the beaches.

Suggestions for a more enjoyable experience

We had the 2 day tour and thought it could be any 2 days of our holiday but were told it had to be consecutive days. Would be good to be able to choose the days if weather or other outings restrict you doing it 2 days in a row.
Several of the bus drivers were not very people friendly. When people were getting off and saying thank you to driver they didn't even acknowledge, same when people were getting on and asking questions they were short with people.
My other compliant is the "on off" aspect. As most people sit upstairs it takes a bit of time to get down the stairs. At the really popular stops e.g. Tram, they stopped but at some other places they didn't actually stop. And when people got on the bus at stops they took off before people were even up the stairs which is a real OHS issue. Not every one listens to the earphones so maybe a PA advising the stops.
But after all that we did enjoy our days, especially the green route.

Some pleasure, some disappointments

In general, it’s an inexpensive way to get an overview of a city. It’s nice to be able to hop on and off. However, we waited for a bus that never came one day. We were there 15 minutes before the first scheduled pickup on our second day and waited fifteen minutes after the scheduled time. We finally took a taxi.
We didn’t like hearing the same history twice so you really should record more so two-day ticket holders don’t hear the repetition.

Basic Pass is sufficient

All encounters with all Big Bus staff were extremely positive, helpful & courteous.
We were a bit disappointed with the quality of the harbour cruise & the sampan cruise which we paid extra money for by purchasing the deluxe package.
I can not recommend either to fellow consumers.
Stay with the regular pass.
