We visited Pierre’s Mumbles on Saturday 27th June for our wedding anniversary. We arrived 15 minutes early, and the Front-of-House was very accommodating, sitting us outside on the balcony. Our food/d... See more

Pierre Bistro
Pierre Bistro - Torquay
We were in a good mood on arrival. We soon learnt that 4/5 mains had run out after we ordered! We were only offered drinks once and they were never replenished nor were any of the old glasses removed. Mains took an hour , we were NOT informed of any delays, and by then everyone was complaining staff looked disinterested, avoided eye contact and did not appear busy although tables took over 20 mins to clear. They were only interested in clearing for the next people rather than offering any customer service or communication. We had to go to bar ourselves for a water refill . By the time the meal arrives ours moods were fast going downhill and we couldn’t wait to leave the restaurant. The idiot who served us wore his mask on his chin both times and later we saw him eating a subway at the bar! Bill took ages and we had to go to them, only about 6 staff in the vicinity! We did get a discount but won’t be rushing back with such terrible service and attitudes. Shame as food was reasonable 😆
Altrincham shambolic, disgusting and unprofessional
Arrived as a group of 7 including octogenarian parents/grandparents. No introductions by staff, no explanation of menu specials etc. No drink menu offered. Food orders taken. When I attempted to explain how I would like my steak I was greeted with a dismissive hand up to my face and advised, "two ways: rare or well done". Drink order eventually taken in, with one half of the guests having their order done secondly. Starters arrived separately, guests finishing before others being served. Drinks came waiter dropped the tray, wetting our coats. He promptly left and was screamed at by the manager to return to the table to clear up. The manager then continued to berate the waiter loudly, next to myself and my parents and actually used expletives. It was disgusting. As a family we attempted to continue with the meal without causing upset to my parents as this was a
Christmas gift to them. The main course, again, came separately and uncoordinated with guest finishing and starting differently. Personally my meal was too salty too eat and only three guests of the seven said their food was passable. At no point were we asked for further drinks. The bottle of white sparkling wine was left plonked unopened beside me. My steak meal had no steak knife. One side order never made an appearance despite being reminded. By this time we collectively decided there was no point continuing with dessert, which despite cancelling was attempted to be served by staff onto an uncleared table. After we asked for the bill we aired our malcontent, to which we were advised we could have the cancelled dessert free as a goodwill gesture. That was not an acceptable resolution. A second manager did apologise and agreed the disgusting language used by his colleague to reprimand the waiter at our table was unacceptable. I was embarrassed and angry that my elderly and frail parent had to witness it. As a resolution it was decided to deduct the drinks bill from the bill. My daughter accepted this even though she did not agree with it, we did it out of respect of other service users and not to further distress my elderly parents. We have regularly used the Preston Bistrot and have never experienced anything other than 5* service. The Altrincham service was nothing other than rude, disrespectful and unprofessional.
Bad experience of this place
Bad experience of this place. wine shown on the drinks menu which we chose wasnt available. soup starter was very bitter to the point of being inedible. Main course was just edible. Dessert was ok but cold. The bill arrived and had extras added on which hadnt been ordered. 19% discretionary charge is automatically added on. All in all not a good experience.

Great service and lovely food had a fabulous evening with our friends at the Eastbourne restaurant our waiter was Ivan for his excellent customer service skills we would all like to praise. Great location overlooking the sea. Really nice evening. Thanks

We visited the Plymouth restaurant and the service was really poor and the food cold. Little interest from the manager. Definitely an avoid until they sort themselves out.

I had a family celebration dinner last night at Bistrot Pierre Altrincham, which was somewhat ruined by the service. It was quite a long wait for our meal and when it finally arrived part of the order was missing. We also had to chase up desserts a few times. On top of that, one of waiters dropped used cutlery on my husband's trousers when he was taking plates away - which resulted in a large permanent grease stain (even though the trousers were put in a wash straight after coming home). I wish I paid more attention to previous negative comments about service at Pierre.

Went to the Plymouth restaurant in Williams yard on Saturday for lunch. My husband had a starter of calamari which he said was great. For mains I had a spicy noodle chicken salad. It tasted good but the salad wasn’t fresh (for example the cucumber centre bit was dark and soggy). I would be suprised if it was made that day (maybe it was in the morning?). My husband thought his halloumi burger was nothing special, but my gran absolutely loved her fish cakes. My gran and I had creme brûlée, and sadly the custard bit was grainy, and you could see small lumps in it. For three of us all having two dishes it was about £50, but I would probably not go back. I would add that the actual service was great, no complaints at all.
Fabulous
Fabulous. Im never disappointed when I visit this restaurant in Nottingham.
The food is always delicious, the staff are extremely attentive and it all together its just a wonderful experience. There isn't a restaurant in the local area that is anywhere near the standards set here.
Worst decision of the day :(
Had whittled what should have been a special birthday meal down to 2 restaurants in Southport (visiting a relation so 100s miles from home) & booked with Bistrot Pierre simply because a table could be booked online when they were closed, the other restaurant I'd have had to wait 'til they opened & take a chance a table would still be available. Worst decision of the day.
Of the 3 vegetarian main meal options only one was available. I didn't want curry, I'd hoped to have the beetroot wellington having never seen it anywhere before, but they'd only had 2 in which had gone. Why have it on the menu if you think it won't be popular enough to sell more than 2 ! The waitress tried to help initially, told me they had a risotto (that hadn't made it on to the menu yet ! Makes even less sense to have a dish not on the menu available, but one that was, not !!), with broccoli, spinach & peas. Love the 1st 2 so went with that. What I got was a mush of stringy runner beans (never mentioned) & peas.
So disappointing with what should have been a celebratory meal.
Had a very good meal …
Had a very good meal tonight in the Wish Tower, Eastbourne. I can happily recommend this place, especially if you are lucky enough to have Zee as your waitress.
Scallops, Chardonnay and a Sea view!
What beats a sea view, great food, excellent friendly service, good wine and pleasant company? Not much.
Bistro Pierre in Torquay with Sven in control was great.

Went today to the Leicester bistro and it was perfect. Both of us had 3 courses and could not fault the food or the service. Our waitress Gerda was very attentive, helpful and friendly. We have not visited recently due to COVID restrictions but so glad we did. Thanks for a perfect meal and night
Leamington Spa
Leamington Spa, a really nice restaurant, the food is gorgeous, they also have an excellent value lunch menu offering with a great selection of dishes. The staff are fast and friendly, cannot wait to go back, they also have a generous loyalty scheme.
good food
just been to this restaurant we could not fault the food good service could recommend it.good value and pleasent staff and a nice view of the river avon.
Stratford-upon-Avon - Incredible
Incredible, rich and indulgent food. Jenna, our server, was attentive, energetic and a delight. Same with the following day's breakfast, where we were lucky to be served by Bev, and put on to excellent local knowledge about some attractions we might like. Really exemplary service with incredible food, at a price I struggled to believe given the quality involved.
Plymouth
Who is training the staff? the last two times I have been there we have been completely ignored! The first time we sat there for 30 minutes whilst staff cleared tables around us, When I asked if I should order inside they told me to wait, we did for another 15 minutes then left. The second time we said hello to two waitresses as we sat down, again clearing tables after 15 minutes I again asked should I get some menus from the bar and was told they are not serving food between 11 & 12 something they could have mentioned on arrival. I have 30 years of hospitality management and live in Plymouth if you would like me to come in for a day and train them I'm quite happy to do so.
A great meal and experience…
Just visited Bistro Pierre at Ilkley today and a lovely experience.
Delicious food and well presented.
Staff were efficient and friendly.
Great value for money. Look forward to returning soon.
It is a shame the Southport branch isn't up to the high standard of this one in Ilkley
Ilkley Bistrot Pierre
We visited the Restaurant on the 31st July to have a meal. However the whole experience plummeted when we ordered a bottle of white wine at a cost of £28.95, which was delivered to the table at room temperature and not chilled. (all staff accepted the wine was at room temperature) We rejected this bottle, only for it to be returned to the table about 10 minutes later at the same temperature so again was rejected.
I asked the waiter which white wines they had which were actually chilled, and he indicated on the wine list which wines were actually chilled so ordered another bottle which they did not have. Eventually I requested a bottle that cost £34.95 on the condition it was charged at the same cost as the original one.
The wine was delivered, but as the bottle had a cork the waiter was unable to open it so was opened by another waiter, but it was good and at the correct temperature.
However when the bill arrived I was charged the full price for the wine, so I asked for this to be corrected (£6 reduction on the bill) Initially the waiter said we had not being charged for some other drinks, which would have being fine but was wrong. Eventually I was informed that as I had ordered this wine I had to pay for it, at full price. This view was enforced by 3 other staff including the manager, who informed me that she was calling the Police to resolve the matter!! The staff never backed down on this and I eventually had to pay for this in full without any apology.
I contacted head office via there complaints tab on the website, and asked for clarification on what there policy was regarding what temperature white wine should be served at, as a white wine that is not chilled should not be even brought to the table, let alone twice in my opinion.
I received a re-assuring response from Giuliana on the 6th August apologizing for the incident and that the General Manager of the Ilkley branch would call me as soon as possible. I have chased this response and waited until today for a response which I still have not received.
My conclusion on this is that the staff are poorly trained, they do not care and this approach is supported by the General Manager who would prefer to try and serve you with a product that is not acceptable. At no point did they offer any solutions.

Excellent meal and great service, very attentive staff and nothing was too much trouble. Can't fault the 3 course meal today, as usual everything was piping hot and great flavours in all courses. Well done too for the quick reply from customer service at Nottingham (Giuliana) who replied immediately to my enquiry and satisfied my query beyond my expectations. Thank you.
Eastbourne
Myself and my partner love coming to the Eastbourne Bistrot Pierre, we have always found the food to be lovely and have always received good service. We were recommended to come here from friends and were not disappointed.
