Avoid this palce like the plague

Avoid this palce like the plague. We were given a £50 gift voucher to spend at the Bistro for our 10th Wedding Anniversary Dinner. Having booked a table by the window, we were told on arrival the table booking is not guaranteed. When I produced the voucher they told me it could not be accepted. Some short French man was abusive and threatening to me, without any apologies. He just made excuses that the voucher could not be accepted as they had no internet. BUT all card payments were being taken from other customers, so this was just another excuse. Do not go there, they are so rude.

Seat with a view???

We were seated with a view of the open kitchen, but I’d rather had a view of a wall than that! I had the joy of watching plates being swilled and the dishwasher loaded. And to the other side there were vacuum packed chickens being cut, and the microwave being used. Disinterested kitchen staff, one checking a mobile phone, really made the experience a rather bland one.
The food was pretty mediocre: the ‘breadboard’ was just a lukewarm baguette with a little bit of garlic butter. The peas with the main were hard.
Service was ok, if a bit slow.
My daughter and her family use this branch (Derby) frequently, but I’m not sure if I’d go again as vac packed food and a microwave is not my idea of good dining. You should maybe hide that from view.

Accidental find and one of Liverpool's hidden treasures!

Found this place by accident on our last day in Liverpool.
Great welcoming. Lovely look and feel of the surroundings with a real Parisian decor and style.
Food was absolutely amazing with generous portions and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
Rare little gem, and it topped off a visit to Liverpool for my wife's birthday very nicely.
Would highly recommend.

THIEVES

Got a voucher for my daughter for Xmas she went and sign on door stating they are permanently closed. I've emailed the company with my details for refund and no one has the decency to deal with it, after god knows how many emails.

Simple one word describes them..THIEVES

Poor

Preston - Ignored for over 10 minutes after being seated, had to ask to be brought a drink. Felt like we were an imposition to staff. Downhill from there. I had booked afternoon tea which was a great disappointment. Sandwiches were poorly, roughly made and the whole afternoon tea was poorly presented and not the enjoyable experience I had hoped for for my friends birthday suprise. What was supposed to be an Eton mess was runny and inedible. Staff disinterested and on the three occasions we tried to get someones attention to get a drink or food we were either deliberately ignored, as in being glanced at and then the person turning away and doing something else, or waved away with a "just a minute" then ignored again. No enjoyable atmosphere. When finally presented with the bill it did not include the deposit that I was required to pay when I booked the afternoon tea so had to ask for it to be remedied. An expensive mistake for what was presented. The whole experience was horrible.

Disappointing in Stratford upon Avon

Initial greeting, seating, order taking and starters were great 👍 Then our plates were removed by surly waiter who also delivered main course with equal disinterest. My poulet rosti was soggy- definitely no crispy skin, fries were not hot. We requested the bill and after 15 minutes went to the bar to pay.
Would not recommend after this experience.

We had a birthday meal here with family & the restaurant was very accommodating.
The food was lovely arrived on time with drinks flowing.
Great customer service from the staff who served us throughout as Kanishka, thank you.

The most disgusting meal

We went to the restaurant yesterday evening for a friends birthday meal. My husband and I ordered the Prawn Gambas for starter. The prawns were served on top of a piece solid bread… it was inedible. It was like a rock! Then second course we had John Dory off the A La Carte menu. It was the most disgusting main a la carte dish I have ever had. The fish was clearly frozen & boil in the bag and the sauce was like tinned mushroom soup. It was a total mess on a plate. How it was allowed to be served & even got out of the kitchen is outrageous. I wish I had taken a photo of the dish… I ate a couple of mouthfuls & left it!! I didn’t complain at the time because we were guests at friend’s celebration meal. But we paid in full but will never return & will never recommend it. We advise you don’t go.

Review for Bistro Pierre

Review for Bistro Pierre – Sunday Roast Experience

My partner and I decided to pop into Bistro Pierre for a Sunday roast and were initially pleased when the host managed to find us a table by the window on a busy Sunday afternoon. However, the experience quickly went downhill due to the poor service.

Despite the restaurant being busy, they were still accepting walk-ins, yet service felt overwhelmed and disorganised. We waited quite some time for anyone to take our drink order, and when a young male waiter finally approached, he simply stood there and said, “Yes...” – blunt and unwelcoming, which surprised us both.

After placing our food and drink order, 20 minutes passed with no sign of our drinks. I walked up to the bar only to find them sitting there waiting, so I grabbed them myself. A waitress commented on how busy they were, but at that point, I just wanted to take them to the table rather than wait any longer.

Our beef roasts arrived another 25 minutes later. The food itself was good, and the portions were generous, which was a plus. However, my partner’s beef cut was very fatty, making it less enjoyable for her.

When it was time to pay, we struggled to get anyone’s attention for the bill, so I had to walk up to the till to settle it myself. Given the lack of service throughout, we requested the service charge be removed – rightfully so.

Unfortunately, the overall experience was frustrating, and despite the food being decent, the service was practically non-existent. We won’t be returning.

Preston- not so great.

Lovely gorgeous building. The houmous starter was lovely. Unfortunately the mains were extremely poor, despite being sent back, the order came back out and was simply awful.

The manager was absolutely lovely so thank you to her for being great and thank you for helping resolve this.

French disaster

I used the Nottingham restaurant on 16th Jan, the welcome was pleasant, but it went downhill from there. The server had no idea what a Ricard was, which for a French themed eatery was strange. I had to explain what it was which was quite funny actually. The baked Brie was tasteless, the beef medallions were inedible and had to go back, I replaced it with a mediocre steak frites, finishing with a reasonable crème brûlée. The servers and floor manager, to their credit, were aware how awful the food was and I got a small discount. The cost is reasonable, cheaper than the proper French restaurants but you get what you pay for. Don’t bother unless you set your standards low.

Bistrot Pierre Southport

A pretty disappointing visit. Half empty on a Saturday night, heating was faulty, people wearing their coats.
My chicken was OK but my husband's vegetarian halloumi burger was most uninspiring: flaccid bun, none of it hot enough, no attempt to make it look like an appealing plate of food, just the flaccid bun and the chips in a cup. Not good enough. Unlikely to go again to any of its restaurants.

Extremely disappointing visit

Extremely disappointing visit.
Booked table for 3 to celebrate 3 x 60th birthdays so pretty special.
Looked online at menu - been here so many times, so we were looking forward to it. Wish we had booked elsewhere now.

Told when asked for pre theatre menu, “oh we don’t do that now”, we said but it’s on the website, we have looked today, all we got was a shrug of shoulders.

Overpriced, super small portions & Luke warm, topped off with a bottle of extortionally priced red wine.
There was no atmosphere, total of 5 people (3 of us) & stuck in a corner right next to the only other table eating!!!!!
Oh & the toilets were awful.

Sadly will not be coming here again, totally ruined what was once a little gem - in need of some paint & attention & don’t overcharge for average food

What an expensive, disappointing evening!

Disappointing at Leamington Spa…

Disappointing at Leamington Spa Restaurant. I went for lunch with my two sons.
We walked into the restaurant and there was no member of staff. The restaurant wasn’t busy. We waited five minutes and then three members of staff appeared. We were approached by one of them, no apology for keeping us waiting, we were shown to our table.
We ordered staters . I had pate which came with a small loaf of bread, it was stale! I sent it back and received my starter with another bread roll, which had been microwaved, but was STILL stale ! The main meal was ok, but not great.
Unfortunately I forgot to collect my points on my club card, but I was not reminded to use my club card either.
All in all a disappointing visit.
It’s a shame, as I use to go to Bistro Pierre quite frequently, but after this visit I don’t think I’ll bother, not that they’ll be bothered as they didn’t seem bothered about ANYTHING !!!

Very disappointing,Derby restaurant

We booked for a party of 4, for the new years eve 6 course Soiree tasting menu. It's the worst service we have ever received from this restaurant, we have visited this restaurant for many years and never received service this poor, took an hour for our starters to arrive, then another hour for our main, 4 hours later we we're still waiting for our coffees which we did not receive, waiting an hour for a jug of water to be brought to our table despite asking the waitress 3 times, the waitress brought out the wine paring drinks in the wrong order then argued we with us stating we had sent back a glass of wine, it was sent to the table next to us!!. However thanks to Ben the waiter who was serving downstairs and we weren't in his service area catered to our needs, if it hadn't been for Ben we would not have had food, drinks or cutlery. We complained to the manager with regards to the poor
service and the waitstress attitude, the manager apologised and the issue was resolved to our satisfaction. However when we did receive food it was good.

Pretty disappointing

Pretty disappointing. No beef bouginon on the normal menu! I had Normandy chicken. Nice taste but a miniscule portion for £16.95. Over charged on whole bill for 4 people. Honestly wouldn't go back here. Leicester branch. Service was ok,food was a big let down. Very poor value and food seems sent in, not freshly cooked.

You’ll get stung for fake marketing

Customers getting stung for what is essentially fake marketing during festive season.

Opted for Bistro Pierre after many good experiences in Kidderminster.
Birmingham chosen as part of festive day out for lunch.
Turned out the festive menu is actually more expensive than if buying the same meals separately - they just hide it from you. This only came to light after a junior member of staff pulled our bill together handing it over and five minutes later the more senior person advising it was wrong and needed to pay a more expensive bill - even though every item was listed accurately - all because it was via a festive menu. No difference in actual food though.
Total lack of trust in this company now.
Appears a Scrooge money grabbing planner makes the decisions in the central office for festive menus.
Kudos to the location team - limited hassle in giving in to the obvious concern and allowing me to pay for lower accurate bill.
