Below standard experience

I have ate at Bistro Pierre many times but the standard has fallen. Very disappointed on my last visit December 21st.

So let’s start from the beginning. We asked for a bread basket and when it arrived the bread was cut into very small pieces as though to disguise the fact the restaurant was short of bread. The presentation looked childlike and messy. I have had the bread basket before and the bread had alway been cut on the bias and very presentable. We ordered the ham hock and baked Camembert starters. The presentation of the ham hock was unacceptable. The meat was crumbled and looked like it had just been thrown on the plate without even trying to make it presentable. In fact it looked like someone’s leftover rather than a professionally plated dish. We drew our waitress’s attention to it and she replaced it. I have had the baked Camembert numerous times but what appeared was a cutdown version in the same ramekin with greaseproof paper packed around it to give the appearance it fitted in the dish.

We ordered from the fixed Christmas Menu. In terms of the main course my friend had the Turkey dinner. The Turkey was cardboard dry and cut very thin. The meal was also tasteless. Again we drew this to the waitress’s attention and changed the dish to the hake which although presented well was not tasty. I ordered the steak au poive but what appeared was the steak dianne for which there was a supplementary charge of £5. I had asked for my steak be cooked pink but it was medium. The steak was chewy and also had a big piece of elastin running through it which made it hard to eat.

Finally we ordered the crème brûlée. The top was rock hard and there was no shortbread biscuit which on previous occasions it was served with although the waitress insisted this was not the case.

All in all it was a very poorly executed service. The waitress said it was because there was only 2 chefs instead of the 4 normally in. However the restaurant was not full at all. Only one large party and 3 other tables with less that 4 people.

It was my birthday and I feel particularly let down as up to this point I have never had a bad experience here. However the overall impression was that of a meal delivered on a very tight budget where corners were cut. We just paid the bill and left but it really doesn’t sit well with me that neither of us were satisfied with our meal. With hindsight we should have complained on the spot!

I have posted this complaint here because despite trying to make a complaint directly from their website numerous times an error comes up. Hoping that they’ll see this here and respond.

This has been my all time favourite until today

This has been my all time favourite restaurant for years. Tonight I could not be more disappointed all the loved staff had gone and the service was awful. We had finished starters and still had no drinks despite asking over and over. The steak was like old boots. The staff were not helpful or bothered. Will not be going back anytime soon

Visited the Ilkley restaurant on…

Visited the Ilkley restaurant on Wednesday with my partner and two children. Staff were excellent and the food was brilliant. Whole experience was faultless. Thank you for a pleasant meal out! Melodie was really helpful with my little ones.

Visited Torbay for a 60th -

Visited Torbay for a 60th, the menu wasn’t as advertised, (more expensive), they sat us under a loud speaker and kept turning the sound up through the night until our party couldn’t speak to each other because of the volume of the music. . They changed vegetables on the plates, the food was very small portions, and very average. I complained on another review site, and they responded with complete lies, saying that I was happy with their response and was going to give them another try - this is untrue - the manager is dreadful, there was no resolve and promises to deal with your issues never happens. I’ve used Bistrot for years in Nottingham and Derby but it’s changed so much - Torbay is a poor reflection of the place it used to be - more like a Wetherspoons with high prices.

Bistro Pierre not worth a visit

Visited Leicester branch as part of a birthday celebration and as there were 20 of us we had to pre order our food, ordered French onion soup, chicken Diane and Ice cream and sorbet.
Soup turned up and it was mushroom at least that what I was told and no French onion available, the soup was watery and tasteless , really it was disgusting. Chicken arrived just about edible but again tasteless and bland the only good thing was the ice cream obviously because it was bought in and not made on the premises but again no sign of sorbet.

What's gone wrong

What has happened to this restaurant.We often visit when in Southport and always enjoy our experience, the service is usually good,last night the service was awful 😞 plenty of staff seemingly doing nothing will not be returning again.

Have only ever experienced excellence.

I am shocked to see the reviews on here for Bistro Pierre having been on several occasions in 2022 and have only experienced excellent service, lovely food and an excellent atmosphere. What is it that people want?

Went the Leamington Spa Bistrot Pierre…

Went the Leamington Spa Bistrot Pierre on 3rd Oct at 1.15pm for lunch.
Decided to try new fixed price 3 course menu.
Ordered drink that was included. Drink came quickly.Then we were asked which mains we wanted. We Ordered Beef Borgionion. Then told that was OFF as was sticky toffee pud for desert.
Eventually got duty manager to let me pick substitute fo Beef off main menu.
My soup starter arrived ( French Onion) but it was mushroom!!! That went back and while I waited my colleague finished their starter!!
Not a great add for the new ' Fixed Price Menu'.
Poor Management.!
If there is a new 'Fixed Price All Day Menu', it should not run out at 1.15pm in the daytime.

Poor service, uncaring

Beautiful settings overlooking sea at Eastbourne, drinks arrived in timely manor food hadn’t arrived after 35 minutes while several other dinners who arrived long after us received their food. Chased our order to be told it was coming, chased again, finally an hour after arriving were told it was being cooked now! Apparently the other dinners were eating starters while our order was for a main course!!! We finally got up and left as attitude was off hand and unapologetic. Another diner was overheard chasing same staff member regarding their order. This is the first time in nearly 60 years that I have ever needed to leave a restaurant due to poor service, very sad.

Not what it used to be I'm afraid

We have been going to Bistrot Pierre Kidderminster since the opening night, when we were so kindly invited to attend. For a long time it was great and we visited regularly.
I am sorry to say that recently it has dropped in all areas, and we now hardly ever go, preferring other (very) local restaurants.
Not sure why this has happened, but it seems they don't feel the need to treat people as I belive they should, so......I spend my money elsewhere. Shame, but that's how it goes when you take your eye off the ball, I guess.

Service was timely and acceptable but…

Service was timely and acceptable but no enthusiasm, interest or friendliness. No offers of tea or coffee. Job done.
Small food portions and lambs leaf dumped on a warm tart was out of place and unnecessary.
Desserts could have more cream/ice cream.
Won't be rushing back.

Scam!!

In Swansea
This restaurant is a SCAM!!! As our group of party is more than 10 people they have to booked us in a private room with £200 deposit!! That’s fine. Then we asked if we could order the evening menu soirée which is £22 for 3 courses meal with a complementary glass wine apparently we’re not allowed as we are in the private room! We are like wth?! 🤦🏻‍♀️ We also got charged for £5pp for the room!! The portion sizes were small and we felt it was all overpriced.
We won't be returning and not recommended! Terrible service!

Bistrot Piérre, Preston Town centre,Lancs

Bistrot Piérre in Preston Town centre, Lancs is a beautiful venue,set in a converted historic church in a fantastic location. The food is delicious, the staff are exemplory and the decor us charming. We recently held a baby shower there and they went above & beyond to accommodate our every need. They gave us a personal staff member throughout, thsf were polite, smiley and attentive. The price was amazing and more than we could ever have hoped for. They made the event so much easier with all their assistance and willingness to make our experience fabulous. We would all recommend Prestons Bistrot Piérre 100%...
Would definitely use the place for an event again and will be eating there soon.

Not up to our expectation.

My first observation is that we haven eaten at Bistro Pierre on a number of occasions we were not offered a Trust Pilot review on this latest occasions. Wondering if this is because we indicated to the management on this latest occasion our dissatisfaction? Booked for my birthday 5th August at BP in Nottingham. With my wife and son and all ordered rump steak 2 were medium and one medium rare. The 2 medium were a little overdone but still good. My wife who had medium rare was literally unable to eat her as it was mainly fat and grissle. This was pointed out to the waitress who merely raised her eyebrows and commented 'really'. She walked off and returned about 10 minutes later to collect the plates. We were asked if we wanted anything else and although disappointed with the lack of interest we decided we would have a dessert. Half way through this the waitress returned and asked if we wanted anything else. We stated no and within 5 minutes our bill was placed on the table although we hadn't finished. My wife was reluctant to pursue the issue as she did not want to spoil my birthday? Very disappointed on this particular occasion.

Plymouth Pierre Bistro.

Plymouth Pierre Bistro.
Faultless service. Booked into rooms mid afternoon. Fabulous simplicity, sumptuous pillows, really comfortable super king bed.

Food and drinks and service, faultless. Very cheerful staff. Breakfast, huge choice, eaten outside in the sun. Limitless tea and coffee, excellent croissants.

Very impressed will return.

A trip to the Mumbles one!

Not again...

We ordered near £80 worth of food and drinks for 2 people. The lady could not even cut her pork as so overdone.

I was told I could not change chips for potatoes and was charged then for the potatoes even though I did not even have my chips?

I was a Chef for yrs, I learnt through School and continued for yrs until I'd had enough. If this was my restaurant I'd sack some of the staff or retrain them, this quality establishment is performing badly, they need Chef Ramsey?

The service was poor, had to ask for water, we cancelled our next booking and will avoid this one?

You'd think the management would get these places sorted.
