Renewal for 2020 - 2021
The renewal process was straightforward and the WW premium this year was £20 less than last year. But we were unable to take 3 scheduled holidays because of Covid-19. Future holidays booked prior to Covid-19 are "protected" on renewal. While we have not had to make a claim in 4 years with Blue Bear, we are are assured that as a Which best buy, we will have no issues in the event of a claim.

Good value as usual. The online medical questionnaire is a little tedious but necessary I suppose. It would be helpful if there was some guidance as to which form should be filled in first, the insurance or the medical- or if it doesn’t matter.
Still seems to be the best value travel insurance around, particularly if you have medical ‘issues’.

Blue Bear Travel Insurance (aka Rush Insurance)
Blue Bear Travel Insurance (aka Rush Insurance Services) have not been replying to my telephone messages (answerphone full or no return call) or replying to emails for over a month. Anybody know if they are still trading? It's apparently up to the underwriter Travel Claims Facilities/Travel Insurance Facilities (this outfit apparently has different names too depending on how phone calls are routed) to interpret Blue Bear policies - and in talking with them I've come across a number of exclusions that surprise my friends in the travel industry and that certainly surprise me bearing in mind this policy is a Which best buy. Once the planet is out of this COVID-19 mess, do check your policy wording very carefully and I'd recommend using a broker that won't play "ducks and drakes" when the chips are down. I would say that people at Travel Claims Facilities are generally helpful on the phone although their online claims forms are not really fit for purpose given the unanticipated and individual situations that have arisen during the COVID crisis. My impression is this industry needs to up its game on facilitating reasonable claims and will need a serious re-think on policy-wording going forward that offers travellers a fair deal. application online was very easy…but sort out payment on system.
The application online was very easy and straightforward but completing the pre-existing medical form, as I had to, can be a bit heavy going and for some reason it took several attempts to accept payment which I subsequently found had been accepted but was not acknowledged. Otherwise I would have given a 4 star.

Repeated travel insurance
We have had our travel insurance from Blue Bear Travel for several years and have been happy with their sign up service. The team have responded quickly to correct any mistakes on the documents. We have not yet had to make a claim.
