Lovely house, that sleeps 10 (including 2 young children) comfortably, with a fantastic view over the lake. Very well furnished with lots of crockery, glassware, cutlery and cooking utensils. A good sized fridge, good sized oven, and plenty of worktops, and an open plan makes the kitchen pleasant to work in. Quite a few toys/sport equipment was available, as well as a washing machine and dryer. The back of the house was right on the lake and you can launch your canoe (available to rent from "the activity hub", 5min walk) from right there. Lovely swimming pool nearby, free. Booking facilities in lower mill estate was a little hit and miss, but we were told it was in the process of being upgraded to allow online bookings.

Beautifully converted, the Coach House provides spacious accommodation with each bedroom having an en-suite and plenty of communal space both indoors and in a courtyard area. Kerry the owner was very helpful and easy to contact. The house had modern features including movement sensitive lighting and state of the art sound system.

We recently stayed at Little Forge in Bourton on the water. It is a beautiful cottage very well equipped and comfortable. It is close to the river and all the amenities which include shops pubs and restaurants. The hosts are really nice people and were helpful to us during our stay. We will definitely visit again in the future.

Fantastic location in a beautiful sleepy village. Rolling hills all around. Just in the grounds of Sudeley castle, which is a must to see. Property is not wheel chair friendly so do consider this when looking. Overall a first class, period Property.

The house was beautiful and well equipped and deceptively large. The lines of communication were excellent and the comprehensive information list really helped in not having to take items you don't need to. The parking at the rear of the house is good and we had a wonderful few days. Lots to do within a few miles plus walks around the cottage as well.
It would have been nice to have some bin liners, but that's a small thing when everything else was perfect. Thanks and we hope to book through your site again.

A well equipped comfortable cottage with modern decor and facilities. Excellent location, very peaceful and quiet. It was ideal for our annual family break as the cottage provided the space and facilities required for a relaxing getaway.

Bolthole Retreats have been extremely helpful from start to finish with our recent booking. They have answered all queries quickly and efficiently and we would have no hesitation in recommending their services.

Booking was so easy. All queries were answered promptly. Very good details on location, as we had to go on What Three Words, and not the postcode, to find the place. Which was absolutely superb.

Excellent accommodation in a perfect location, within easy walking distance of the fascinating and historic Sudeley Castle and the town of Winchcombe with great character, good pubs and a fine selection of eating. Walkers are welcome in Winchcombe and there are many excellent, scenic walks directly from the accommodation. The staff were easy to contact, courteous and very helpful. There was ample, safe parking.

This historic 2 bedroom house just off Burford High Street, was perfectly set up for my family of four, in town for a family wedding. Thoughtfully modernized while respecting the charming historical features and layout of the space, we enjoyed comfy beds, two full bathrooms (with great water pressure!), a modern kitchen, games, smart TV as well as gorgeous outdoor spaces. Truthfully, the online photos don't do it justice. The house exceeded our expectations. We'd highly recommend a stay in this charmiing spot.

We stayed at this cottage with a family group including toddlers and dogs. The cottage was lovely, extremely well equipped, with lots of space for everyone. Plenty of great walks from the house.
Communication with company, booking, cottage details and the house keeper were excellent.

Cider house barn was just a good size for us and it is a short walk into town, we ate out twice at the bridge pub, we sat outside overlooking the river watching the swans with their babies and loads of other birds 🦢 the food was delicious and if you wanted to change to a different vegetable or type of chip it was no problem. My sister and our friend made use of the hot tub which they really enjoyed. It is about a 20 minute drive to Stratford .

We found this to be a simply delightful and unspoiled part of the country with lots of historic sites to explore, places to hike, and good pubs and restaurants nearby, particularly the Kilpick Pub.
As for the Lower Gatehouse (which as its name suggests is a stone-built gatehouse -- though we could not find the date of its construction) the upside-down arrangement of the bedrooms and living area ensured we got lots of aerobic exercise; the stairs are VERY steep. The owner has made inventive use of the unusual layout. Of the three bedrooms, ours was the best equipped, having a small connecting area between the bedroom and ES where my husband could work. The beds were very comfortable but the third bedroom is a little "snug".
We appreciated the outdoor patios, one outside the living area and one in the garden at ground level. Unfortunately, the presence of wasps meant we were unable to use the upstairs one. (We have suggested deterrents so future guests don't have that problem.)
As a general comment, we all wished very much that fewer places accommodate dogs. The dogs are not the problem but the owners allow their pets on the furniture and this can provoke allergies.
