Winton Bournemouth Boots Opticians provided an excellent service from Viola who did the first tests to helping me select new frames and Sarah the optometrist who explained what she was testing and what the results were. An excellent team can thoroughly recommend this branch and all their staff. Dianne Stacey

I visited Boots Opticians Gravesend on the morning of 5th May to ask for an appointment I thought, for a later date. But I was there being looked after for three hours.I'm totally impressed and I would like to thank in particular Sobya for her diligence andcompetence (and lovely personality). The whole team were excellent for their attention and courtesy, including Emily. Apologies that I can't remember everyone's name.
After extensive tests,Sobya forwarded my details to Queen MarysHospital Sidcup and by the end of the afternoon I was contacted to arrange an emergency appointment there which I attended the next day.I feel very fortunate.

I had an eye test yesterday,12th May 2026, at Boots opticians Castle Street branch Norwich. I have been a customer of that branch for many years, even though I live some distance away. Pritesh the optician is the reason I travel the distance. I have complete and utter faith and trust in his what he tells me about my eyes and the glasses he prescribes. His manner in the way he works also gives one confidence in his opinions.
Whilst there yesterday I also had the pleasure to meet Sean and Chloe who were extremely customer friendly being very helpful. I have to go back and collect my glasses in a few days and I will be assisted by Chloe again. These three people are a credit to your company and I, with customer experience this good, will obviously be using and recommending this particular branch of Boots opticians for many years to come.

Boots Opticians in Frome truly stands apart and the reason is simple; The People.
Sylwia and Sanah are the driving force behind a level of professionalism, expertise and care that is increasingly rare to find.
With their leadership and dedication to excellence, they make what could feel like a large corporate business instead feel like a trusted family-run practice where every customer is genuinely valued. The care, attention and reassurance they provide are nothing short of remarkable.
They are true ambassadors for Boots Opticians, proudly showing up every day and delivering a service that leaves the competition far behind. Having been with Specsavers in the past, this is incomparable. The passion through in every interaction, the devotion, and it is because of people like them that customers return with complete trust and confidence.
A credit not only to the Frome branch, but to the entire company.
Many thanks, Waren

I have found the service at Boots Optician in Liverpool L1 consistently excellent. The staff are unfailingly pleasant and helpful. I have recently been seeing the Optometrist Atif who was thorough and very attentive to my problems which are complex. I was reassured not only by his professionalism and expertise but the explanations and clarifications that I received throughout the procedures have been empowering.

Costumer service and dealing with complaints is off the chart ! ( not what you would hope)
I had one year old prescription , well in consistent with my all previous prescription as my numbers have not changed over two decades,
Went to Worcester park branch to order new a new pair of
Glasses . My prescription was refused stating lack of expiry date ! ( Boots own prescription has two years expiration date)
Forced to a pay for new eye exam but without noticing that contact lens must be removed for a certain duration to let eyes corneal recovery and have accurate prescription.
The numbers came back 0.75 lower than all my prescription. I did the test at a different optician at later time ( after one day eye rest) which came back in line with all previous prescription.
When I made a complaint and challenged them for not following the recommended guidelines from the Opticians Council, they refused to acknowledge the issue and instead offered unjustified excuses.
It was simply a waste of time and money. There’s nothing wrong with admitting the mistake — what’s truly annoying is how they tried to justify such a error.

Boots has always been my optician of choice for as long as I can remember. Having moved to Dundee some 4 years ago the city centre store is where these services are. I recently attended the store looking for prescription sunglasses. Having selected the frames, thinness of lenses, level of tint etc etc. I asked for a polarised finish to the lens. I was told this was only available on some lenses and the ones I had selected, although top end, did not have this option? This is no fault of the store, I assume this is Boots policy. But why when the competition offer the finish? For the first time, I think ever I am having to move away from Boots for my glasses.
On a separate note this store is very tired, there is always a leak or two. Escalators remain broken for many months.

I went into hove boots opticians for the usual yearly sight test which I get free as I’m 67 today in fact and also because my brother has glaucoma. The lady took me in a room for the other tests before we see the optician asked me what benefit I was on I told her I receive state pension and pip she starting saying I would need to know what exact benefits or I would have to pay for spectacles. I started fretting and as I suffer with anxiety attacks I felt my self going into one so I left and cancelled the appointment now I don’t think I can go back in there.

the second pair of glasses had the bifocals in the middle of the lens not the bottom so wrongly measured. It has taken over 4 weeks and I still haven not got my glasses. I shall not be returning. Expensive and inefficient

I have been with Boots since Dollond & Aitchison was taken over. Getting used to a new optician did not prove a problem and since then- over ten years I have made many visits to my local Boots in Guildford as getting older, my prescription and eyes are changing and I have always been happy with the professionalism and skills of those who have dealt with me. Indeed, I am a long-standing contact lens wearer of 50 plus years but now need regular check ups and changes made. My most recent visits for an eye test and subsequent contact lens check were once again a very positive experience and I feel I am in good hands with people that know about eyes and can check my eyes and advise, accordingly. All in all, I am very happy with Boots in Guildford and feel my needs are being met with professionalism and that's why I am doing a review- my first ever, regarding my eye care although this review covers two visits a few days apart- both equally good experiences.

I went to Boots Eldon square, Newcastle -upon- Tyne branch for an eye check as my eyes were causing trouble. I am a visual device user and my employer has a form for it in which the optician ticks an option ie which specifies the person requires corrections for using the computer and signs at the end of the form which I have used for last 13 years. The person who greeted me told that Boots have started charging for filling the form( writing the report!), which came as a surprise. So out of 30 pounds for my free eye check boots will take 15 . So I challenged asking if they have made it clear on the site as I then would have the choice to phone around and check at which point she said she would waver for this time. The optician was standing next to her and tried explaining that they are charging for DVLA report writing and I said this does not need any report writing instead a tick and a sign at the end. Then came the second surprise when after the checking my eyes the optician said she will not tick the box that says I need glasses for the screen as I need for driving too. I have needed glasses for driving since I started driving long ago. The previous test I had in 2022 , same place different boots optician had ticked the form and smiled saying its worded in funny way. I explained that to the optician who unhappily went and discussed with her colleague and came back with the right box ticked but kept on saying that she is putting her registration on line. I felt so undermined after the whole episode. I am choosing not to share the name of staff as this is not meant for name and shame but to say the whole experience felt like if you don't pay the 15 pounds we make sure that you don't get the 60 pounds you are entitled for your glasses.
I have had the form filled by opticians in the last 13 years with no trouble with boots opticians and spec savers. Hope no one has to put through similar experience. Best wishes to all who work really hard in the store to give the best care to the patients but having experienced this I will not be returning . Also I will make sure to check with other opticians if they are charging for a tick and a sign on a form. If so then that definitely need challenging.
