Terrible customer service at the Belper…

Terrible customer service at the Belper branch. Never answer their phones and when they do they have no time for you.
The manager is so unbelievably rude.
Please do your research before dealing with this company. Wish I had!

We went with this tin pot Company

We went with this tin pot Company, following on from a awful conveyancing experience online.
However! Talk about out of the pot into the fire!!!
Burchell Edwards at Eastwood proved to be absolutely DIRE!! They work with Talbots Law in Dudley (We have given them feefo...)
We did not find out UNTIL the day before we were due to exchange contracts that even though at the beginning of the fiasco my husband had categorically stated that the contract with them was for BOTH the SALE AND the Purchase, Scarlett, the lead estate agent at the Office did the biggest mess up of her career (I am presuming there hasn't been any worst...!) and only put on the Contract for the sale!!
Lexi, the Eastwood Manager agreed with my husband that she remembered him telling Scarlett that it was for a sale AND Purchase at the time.
Mistakes happen all the time, it is simply human nature.
What REALLY galls us though, is that this Estate Agency attempted to hide and dismiss what they had messed up.
NO apology, literally just trying to sweep their mess up away altogether.
To LEXI and SCARLETT, SHAME on you, you should be utterly disgusted with yourselves, but no doubt both you and Burchell Edwards will go into denial mode....unfortunately for you, we DO have ALL the relevant paperwork to take forward if we decide to do so.

We urge ANYONE even thinking of using this Company to avoid like the plague...👿

What I would like to know is, whay doesn't ANYBODY respond to the people on the reviews?? Burchell Edwards really should be shamed and vilified......

Landlord says you don't need boiler

We were told if we wanted to rent we had to move in within 4 days, we were not allowed to give any notice for the property we are currently in. So we had to take the keys on a monday evening, then couldn't actually see the property until the weekend. The boiler doesn't work, the ceiling in the kitchen is so damp it has fallen through, the kitchen units are damp, the only electrics are the lights and shower, the cooker is unusable. Both Burchell and the landlord have said we don't require a boiler and we don't require electrics to move in, in October. One comment we thought was rather exceptional was "if it was your house you would still have to pay the mortgage, so you still need to pay the rent, even if you can't live there".

I've rented for 22 years up and down the country, Burchell Edwards is by far and away the worst experience i have had.

Shocking

The worst agent possible. DO NOT use this agency.
Overpriced compared to all local agents, they fixed their price off of an inflated price (confirmed by other agents and RICS afterward).

Took 2 weeks to get 4 viewings, no offers.

No further viewings in 3 months despite lowering our price.

Most importantly they tie you into 3 month exlusivity contract, compared to 1 month elsewhere.

Worst of all 90% of the time i called them, no-one answered, and most of the time voicemail full. If that happens to me the vendor, imagine how difficult it is for potential viewers.

I have dealt with 2 different branch's…

I have dealt with 2 different branch's Ripley and Eastwood, both very bad at communication, and pushing you to have a mortgage with then. God help the vendors who are trying to sell their houses through this company!!

SOLIHULL BRANCH AVOID !!!

SOLIHULL BRANCH , Do not go anywhere near them! Just don't even be tempted, ZERO feed back from viewings YOU do all the chasing. It takes 3 or 4 calls to get through to someone.

Usually you will be talking to a trainee who knows nothing (not their fault) about the queries you are raising, followed by a promise that they will call back this will NEVER happen regardless who you call , they just NEVER call back.

Viewings are cancelled for no reason or don't turn up, we'd go as far as saying some are even made up.

Once they have your signature you are on your OWN.

We have never experienced such an unprofessional team, being addressed as 'mate' over the phone when your paying £1000's for the pleasure.

NOTE , they are NOT cheap and no where near worth it.
Trust - zero
integrity - zero
customer service - zero
professional - zero

DO NOT USE. AVOID !

Do NOT waste your time

Having taken all my details (enough to clone me) I was told a member of staff was on holiday and I would have to take another hour giving my information again. Then that person left I was passed onto a third member. All 3 of them left the company, my concern is that clearly they could take my information. How in the modern world is this possible? Then to be told by the third person they charged for this service. Incredible.

Absolutely not worth one star

Absolutely not worth one star . Where do I start . We got treated worse than anybody possibly could . I can not believe the way we was treated and we are beyond hurt .
We went for a property at Lakeland drive . So please be aware anybody reading this . Told the agent I have an Iva and my husband also has an Iva . However we were renting with daughter and son in law . Was told that was ok but would speak to landlord .
Had a lovely phone call congratulating us that we had got the house . My daughter and son in law handed their keys back for flat (agent was aware ) they also have a six month baby girl etc . Was meant to move in on the 15th . Lack of communication . Excuse after excuse and delays .
All the correct documentation was sent to referencing . We was told by the agent , it doesn’t matter if your references fails etc the landlord has signed us off and my daughter and son in laws references had passed and there joint income is more than enough.
All tenancy agreements signed etc . Then we were called up on 16/08 saying we had failed referencing ??? And we couldn’t have the house .
My husband didn’t have a right to rent . When we are renting now and we sent all documentation that was listed over. Also the agent said that the land lord didn’t know my husband has an Iva . Even though I told her and she stated it doesn’t matter land lords signed off !! My daughter and son in law and myself have enough income to cover it and that’s more than enough !!!
Oh and the land lord wasn’t going to rent the property out he had changed his mind .
However it’s now on right move and new property to let under burchell edwards . The agent even told me to give notice on my property ( so I did ) when I was upset with her on phone ( so I should be ) she stated it was her last day and she tried her best .
She has left us all heart broken and it’s not the fact we have lost the house that hurts . It’s the way we have been treated .
We also paid the holding deposit, but we can’t have it back because of my husbands right to rent . Which isn’t true at all .
We feel beyond hurt and very confused. I can not believe the disgusting treatment we have had .
The agent even had the cheek to say the landlord asked how the move went 15/08/ and she didn’t know how he would take the news that we hadn’t moved in ?? I explained this isn’t my fault . Trying to get in touch and help from somebody all day .
They did not give a dam that they could have made a young couple and a baby homeless . Also the fact I have my notice on my property . All I was told was you can retract .
They won’t be giving us back out holding deposit .
My current land lords are disgusted and think we should be asking for compensation .
We were mislead and lied too.
We were so happy at the start . Agent was very friendly and helpful. We were honest about everything. Then suddenly things changed and we had excuse after excuse and communication wasn’t the same .
We were constantly ringing and emailing hoping for some update and positive news.
I hope nobody else gets treated the same way. It’s very unfair and heartless.

Our experience with Burchell Edwards…

Our experience with Burchell Edwards during the sale of our home was extremely disappointing. I wish I could give zero stars but unfortunately there is no such option.

Initially, they seemed promising, but it quickly became apparent that their service was lacking. They rarely answer phone calls, and when they do, the staff often admit they are new and unsure how to assist. Attempts to speak with senior team members were futile; they were never available and never returned calls, emails, or voicemails.

Moreover, they are not cheap either; our seller paid much less to another agent who were just brilliant. When we tried to chase them for updates, we were told not to chase and that they would respond when they had time, which never happened.

There was no follow-up on the sale, and we had to chase all parties involved ourselves. The only call we received from Burchell Edwards was on completion day, after everything was sorted by us.

In summary, do not use Burchell Edwards if you are serious in selling your property and unless you want the additional stress of managing everything yourself. Their service was not worth the hassle and added unnecessary frustration to an already stressful process.

DO NOT USE FOR LETTINGS!!!

DO NOT USE FOR LETTINGS!!!
Absolutely rubbish constant changing of staff. No checks done properly, just constant lies about everything. No support whatsoever I was constantly having to chase them, never answered there phone for the two years the fully managed my property which was always left in a state because checks were not done.
I still have letters from utility bills coming to me from last year because the agent didn't bother to pass them on. This was fully managed! Could do a better job on my own especially when all they were interested in was raising the fee I paid. Good riddance to them so glad I'm with a better agent.

Avoid the Tamworth branch if you are…

Avoid the Tamworth branch if you are thinking of selling your house!
They tie you in to a six month contract, they then don’t have any motivation to sell your house. They will not release you from the contract early and the only way to stop the company selling your house is to send them a two week notice to take your house off the market! Then have to wait till your six months is up to try sell your house with some one else… Thanks for nothing Burchell Edward’s

Worst estate agency I have experienced

Worst estate agency I have experienced.
It takes 3 or 4 repeated call to get through to someone who will answer the call. Then usually you will be talking to an intern or trainee who know nothing about the queries you are raising, followed by a void promise that they will call back to you which will never happen. As a seller, you shall never use them, as they have a “smart” strategy to make you think they sold your property above market price by significantly undervalue your property, then put into market for people to view, meanwhile, as they short of hands or purely being lazy, they will push away dozens of potential buyer’s queries ( or simply not answer the call or email). You may get a price above asking price but that is because the original valuation is poor. Moreover, they will forcefully asking buyer to take on their recommend Connell broker to “get a better chance a win a bid”. If you are not using their broker, you probably won’t get the property even if you are offering good price.

Worse company for letting and selling

Worse company for letting and selling ! They take your money on management and never look after the property on lettings ! When tenant left , that was it , no support to get my money ! Did no checks even though promised 3 a year ! House was a tip when left and never got my money . Taking to ombudsman ! Definitely a bunch of liars ! My health has been affected by the nightmares I ve gone through with this company .selling aswell! They actually said that they told other agency that tenants were good payers so they d leave ! ( how shocking and unprofessional !) as they were going to try and sell property ( I couldn’t afford mortgage so needed to sell ) and tenants were being awkward . They had allowed tenants to change things to property without my approval! They had 3 dogs in the house and the way the tenants left the house was terrible !

Nikita was absolutely amazing

Nikita was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She really did go above and beyond and nothing was ever to much. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, always got back to us when she said she would. She also is such a lovely girl, professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Nikita, she was an absolute delight to deal with. It really made the process stress free knowing I had someone reliable helping me. Would highly recommend Nikita. Could not fault in any way.
