BYD South West - Exeter Reviews 

I was a little unsure of BYD and of electric cars, in all honesty, but I really liked the look of the Seal U so I went into the Exeter dealership to discuss and my experience has been 5* from start to finish. Ruth Saunders was fantastic. She spent so long going through my (very long list of) questions and nothing was too much trouble. The handover when I went in to pick up the car was seamless and Ruth took me through everything, including setting the car up to my specifications and linking it to the BYD app. The rest of the staff were also extremely helpful - a really good dealership. This is how ‘old school’ deluxe car shopping used to be but in my experience is now very rare (BYD certainly put Jaguar Landrover to shame!). The car itself is also excellent- I’m very happy with my purchase!

Popped in to BYD Exeter after seeing an offer on Facebook, the staff, especially Gemma were brilliant, ended up ordering the car there and then. Follow up after puchase was great, and have had no issues. Highly recommneded.

Our first BYD and i have to say not a bit disappointed…. We have the Seal hybrid and trickle charge every couple of nights. So far in 3 weeks we have used 10 miles of fuel. I’ve had BMWs outlanders minis and this is equal. Well done love the onboard computer, sound system … telephone clarity and much more

I visited BYD Exeter on Saturday to take a look at the BYD Seal and was warmly welcomed by Kirsty. She was incredibly helpful, answering all my questions thoroughly and with genuine enthusiasm. The showroom itself was impressive, and Kirsty’s professionalism and knowledge really stood out. Both Kirsty and the Exeter location are a real credit to the BYD brand.

The team at BYD Exeter have been excellent, particularly Gemma, she was so knowledgeable about the car (Dolphin Surf), she was patient and answered all the questions I had. The whole team made the entire experience of buying a new car a really lovely one. Thanks guys!

Yasmin made the entire process simple and seamless from start to finish. She even agreed to come in on her day off to hand over the new car! Having bought many cars in the past from big-name dealers, this was by far the best experience I've had, and the car is amazing!

Kirsty went above and beyond even though she was aware I was taking the vehicle on salary sacrifice , so there was no incentive. As for the car itself (sealion 7) it felt far superior to the Tesla model y , we drove that day. I will ordering a sealion 7 top spec thanks to Kirsty.

What can I say. From walking in their door for the first time BYD staff were amazing. There was no pressure answered ever question. Offered a test drive which we did. Then after a couple days asked to come back for another test drive. Nothing was to much for them. Then placed an order and collected it just over a week later. Amazing. Highly recommend. 🤩🫶

I have no problem with leaving a 5* review for BYD Exeter. They patiently answered all my questions and did not try to oush me into a purchase before I was ready. The actual purchase of my Atto 2 was very smooth and I am enjoying driving it and finding out something new every day. Thank you Gemma and Ryan for all your help.

From walking into the BYD South West - Exeter showroom to leaving with my new BYD Seal my whole experience has been absolutely fantastic.
Dealing mainly with Ruth with back up from Kirsty and Ryan was a real pleasure, nothing was ever too much trouble.
Picked my new car up on the 8/09/25 and the whilst the handover was seamless it was also very thorough.
The car drives like a dream...one happy chap! :)

I bought my Seal U DM-i from BYD South West Exeter after spending some time researching the car online. Gemma and Ryan assisted me during my initial visit to the showroom for a test drive, which led to my purchase, and later during my follow-up visit to complete the part-exchange and handover of my new car. They responded promptly to my questions and emails. Everything was handled very professionally and friendly, and I’d have no concerns recommending the Exeter branch to others.

Cannot fault BYD South West - Exeter at all. From my first contact (email) to the collection of my new Seal. Ruth and Ryan were both great. They were knowledgeable, helpful, attentive and responded to my queries very efficiently. Nothing was too much trouble, and the whole process was simple, quick and smooth. Dealing with BYD in Exeter was very simple and friendly.
We knew the vehicle we wanted for while so ordering was easy especially due to the great staff, car was available for pick up one week after order which compared to other manufacturers is great.
Vehicle as per specs and expectations.
Collection was enjoyable partly due to helpful friendly and knowledgeable staff who made us feel special.
Highly recommended.
