Ecco Shoes Disintegration
I bought a pair of Ecco smart casual slip-on shoes three or four years ago and have worn them only in the evening on cruise ships. They were so lightly used that they looked like new...until I stood up in the lounge on a recent cruise and noticed a black lump on the carpet where my foot had been. I picked it up and realized it was from the heel of my shoe. I had no choice but to walk back to my cabin leaving a trail of black bits behind me. The heel had completely disintegrated, the sole was cracked and the same was happening on the other shoe. I googled the problem and found reports of many experiences very similar to my own. Ecco Shoes Canada's impersonal customer service seems to be in complete ignorance or denial, showing absolutely no empathy or interest, since my shoes were outside the company's one-year limited warranty period. When a fault is as bad as this, surely it is better to apologize, come clean and at least make a gesture in order to satisfy/pacify the customer... but not a hope of that at Ecco Shoes Canada.

Appalling customer service from Ecco Canada. I am a long time wearer of Ecco shoes and recently purchased a pair which were too large. I returned the shoes the same day. I was e mailed five days later to be told the shoes had been received but it would be fifteen days to get a replacement pair, even though they have stock. There is no telephone number and their on-line chat is always off-line. This facility need to up their game. Would give zero stars if possible.

These shoes are noisy. The leather (?) across the shoe's topside near the toe flexes then pops every time a take a step. I don't enjoy hearing my feet go pop, pop, pop as I walk along. Plus the way the laces are designed to go under the shoe's tongue doesn't make sense since it causes the material to bunch up, creating discomfort. I've worn these shoes every day for a week, taking numerous multi-mile walks. I find them to be clunky and loud on any surface. I'm deeply disappointed since I've been extremely pleased with Ecco in the past.

i bought my first pair of ecco shoes in the early 2000’s and was very impressed with its comfort and durability. i am a repeat customer and have bought 8 pairs in total and many more for my family. sadly the shoes i bought 2 years back which i had hardly worn just disintegrated( the sole) . its very disappointing for such an expensive buy to show such low quality. i will never buy another pair and would also like to warn others to note that the warranty is only for a year
Disintegrating Heels
Bought two pairs of shoes, one casual, one dress. Expensive shoes. Wore each pair of shoes about 15 times. The heels on both shoes disintegrated while out shopping. Pieces all over the store. Embarrassing. Contacted Ecco, their reply was shoes were past warranty. To the point and abrupt. Comfortable shoes though. Tough to walk with no heels.

It is unfortunate that such a high quality product has such deplorable e-commmerce and customer support for online operations. I've had nothing but positive experiences in store, however the online operation is one to absolutely avoid. No option to speak to a live agent, only chat with a person on a very limited, daytime schedule of 5 hours M-F Eastern time. Reps are not knowledgeable and not interested in solving customer concerns but rather operating off of a script with no ability to adapt when a situation warrants escalation. I am a consumer, who is very brand loyal to high quality products. After spending over $800 in one week on products, there was no way to have my sole issue resolved through the chat agent, and no other option to speak to a human to resolve my concern. As a result, ecco is losing my business for good. I recommend choosing another retailer to spend your hard earned money with that will respond when you have a concern that needs attention.

I have had the distinct pleasure of shopping at your outlet store at Tanger Mall Ottawa.
Today I happened to walk in and Hayley your sales person remembered not only me but that I had brought me wife and she bought a pair of running shoes, Hayley remembered and after a short discussion I had my wife on the phone and she bought a pair of winter boots.
Hayley went well beyond her capacity as a sales clerk, she is I believe an excellent candidate for a managerial position and as the former Chief of Staff to the Defense Minister of Canadä I strongly recommend her.

Ecco shoes are by far the absolute best and most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I have well over 40 pairs" theur styles seem endless and coming out with new styles all the time. They have incredible durability and I've never had an issue with them. I highly recommend ECCO shoes.

Be aware that if you expect a pair of shoes to last over a year, don't purchase from Ecco. I have always enjoyed my Ecco shoes, but clearly the quality has plummeted. I brought my shoes in 14 months after the purchase as the side of the upper has torn away from the sole, and was told repeatedly that the warranty is 1 year! Ecco will throw a fault with their product back with a generic Excessive wear response when the shoes arent even particulary worn.
Both my Ecco shoes at 10months left and right split. Sent to Ecco and they replied "excessive wear" at the heal which isnt the problem position on the shoe and was not excessivly worn anyway.
Can you imagine in a pandemic where I remote work and I dont walk to work anyway results in an expensive pair of shoes splitting?
Here's the kicker Ecco Ireland dont have a warranty page, and the warranty in other countries is:
"Durability of outsole – will not deteriorate, crack, or split under normal wearing conditions"
My shoes were worn whilst in a remote working scenario at home how can they not survive simple conditions is it deemed not normaly conditions?? I highly doubt it ecco.
So Im at home in a pair of split shoes that arent up to merchantable quality. I've purchased Ecco only over the last 20 years seems they are a shadow or shady incarnation/ecco of their former past.

I visited the Square One branch of Ecco…
I visited the Square One branch of Ecco Shoes while looking for a walking shoe for my self. The store manager Indrani, an extremely pleasant person, helped me in finding the right shoe for myself. I was highly impressed by her knowledge about the products, her ability to understand my need and more over her level of politeness, patience and friendly behaviour while dealing with the other customers very efficiently at the same time.
Disintegrating Soles - common problem?
Nice shoes, well constructed, stylish and comfortable. HOWEVER, after some time the rubber material on the soles began to disintegrate and they actually fell apart and peeled off my shoes while I was on the dance floor at a wedding, leaving behind large chunks of rubber. Very embarrassing. After contacting customer service Ecco basically said too bad because the one year warranty had expired. Wish I could post pictures.

About a year ago I bought leather casual biom lace shoes after owning a slip on pair that lasted about 4 years where the bottom soles wore down. Switched out laces with compression ones so I don't need to tie before wearing.
Left Biom shoe did tear my heel area. I kept them due to COVID. Wore a bandaid for
for about 4 wears. The shoe stopped scraping.
I also like the leather (sport) shoe inserts. Sockless feet. I buy their inserts for non ECCO shoes.
Like others reviewing, I don't usually wear one pair of shoes frequently. I am seasonal,and occasion. For me, I have been lucky with my in store ECCO shoe buys.
It is terrible when companies disregard their customers. Hope to remain an ECCO customer for a few more pairs.

Soles fell off my sandals - the product is only covered by warranty for 12 months. Pure garbage was used for the soles of the sandals.
