The break down lorry arrived within the hour. The driver was very helpful and took my car to the tyre repair people.
The only reason I’ve taken one star off is because my husband would not have been able to use a mobile phone to send details. However he phoned call assist and was given the number to contact a human. This was very helpful and reassuring.

Avoid AT ALL COSTS. Broke down 170 miles away from home. First question they asked was if I could get myself accomodation overnight as it was a long recovery. Was told they needed to get permission for the distance. When I rang for an update spoke to an individual who told me the recovery had been cancelled and they would only repair the tyre which I had to pay for. I explained lack of funds and was told I would be taken to a garage within 20 miles and if I did not have the repair money that was not their problem and it was my responsibility. I was left on a dangerous country road for almost 4 hours until I had to move due to a near miss with two 40ft vehicles. Francis was uninterested in my situation, showed no sympathy or empathy and had no guilt in leaving me abandoned 170 miles from home. After almost 6 hours of being passed from pillar to post they e entually organised a tyre company out to repair the damage. The whole saga took almost 7 hours and nearly being ploughed into on about 4 occasions before it was resolved. Call assist is the worst company I have dealt with. Absolutely disgusted the way I was treated, not interested I needed to be home to take medication as a veteran. Would steer clear of these absolute cowboys. Total waste of money, been with them three years and the first time I needed them I was let down, abandoned and treated like a piece of dirt in someone’s shoe. Diabolical company. If I could I would have left a zero star rating.

Previous to this reply I was called yesterday by Jack so unsure why you are asking for details that you clearly have. Jack informed me he listened to the call and that Francis has been spoken to regarding his manner with me on the phone and talking over me all the time and that he has had to undergo re training in the way he deals with customers.
He also stated that should Francis act in this manner again he will be taken off the phones. I did question if that information should have been passed to me in line with GDPR and was told he is allowed to share this information with me regarding another employee and your internal process.
Not convinced this is the case having dealt with HR issues for a large number of years.
Maybe I should speak to Francis and ask how he feels about it. To me this again show a the unprofessional attitude f personnel within your company.
I was told all your company will do is apologise however for being left on a dangerous road for almost 4 hours, having near miss incidents with vehicles speeding on a narrow country road and almost hitting me including 2 40 foot artic vehicles and haveing to wait almost 6 hours for recovery, being asked if I could get my own accomodation due to the recovery distance to then being told I would be taken up to 20 miles away to a garage and left there to sort out the recovery myself is an absolute joke . I will be adding this to my trust pilot review

Having broken down in the evening just south of Glasgow, I was surprised but very pleased for the breakdown truck to arrive in less than half an hour. The problem - a broken fanbelt - was not possible to repair and my car was loaded on to the truck and transported 40 miles to the location I'd requested (neither home nor a garage).
The mechanic/driver was cheerful and efficient throughout.
Though you don't want to break down, the service we received could not have been better.

Broke down near to holiday cottage I had rented for long weekend - local recovery had no spare technician, so recovery agreed with call-assist call handler on shift at the time, that they would tow me to my destination and get a technician to look at car in the morning, and that this would. NOT count as my “free tow”. When I checked with them before car was loaded on to the tow truck a different call handler said that it was my free tow and after 30 min of myself and the recovery guy trying to explain the situation, the supervisor finally agreed and said that if car couldn’t be fixed and then would cover my tow home as per previous agreement.
Car was unable to be fixed as needed a part from the manufacturer which would have been delivered at least a day or 2 after I had to be out of my accommodation. When I called on the Monday to confirm when I would be towed home, they tried twice to charge me for the tow even though it was supposed to be my “free tow” then tried to get true car towed to a local garage instead even though they had been told that a repair wasn’t possible and a part from a manufacturer would arrive too late. After more time wasting and back and forth they finally agreed to get me towed home.
Was incredibly stressful- poor communication from call- handlers which meant I had to spend ages each phone call having to explain everything each time. They were reluctant to stick to their word and didn’t apply common sense and logic ti the situation.
Shame as the app / reporting of a breakdown works really well, but the “human “ side of things when a situation arises was found lacking.

I was told the tow truck would be with me within the hour. It arrived after 2 hours.
I was told there was a deposit of £50 but was not given any indication of a final cost (£300 not including the initial deposit).
The tow driver said "I'm not a nazi, but I think everyone should be".
I have not given one star, as when I called, I was very distressed by the cost and was told I would not have to pay the VAT (reducing the cost to £250).
