Answered the questions on the online form - my safety was taken into account- and within a couple of minutes I was told which garage would pick up my car and deliver it to the requested repair garage within the hour. That’s exactly what happened. No fuss, no delays - they did exactly as promised. 100% satisfied.

Easy to report breakdown. Gave an eta within the hour. Kept in constant touch with us throughout. Breakdown arrived in about 45 mins after ringing to say he was on his way.
Changed the punctured tyre for us and even phoned our nominated garage for us to check if they had the correct tyre size in stock.
Call Assist and the breakdown (Cambrian Car Care) both went over and above. Will definitely be renewing when the time comes.

Broke down on the A1M northbound. Myself & 2 grandkids in the car. Clutch had gone.
Used the Smart Rescue app. Straight forward & easy to use.
App told me, someone should be with me within the hour.
Recovery driver rang me to give me an eta.
While waiting for recovery driver Smart Rescue rang me 3 times during the hour wait asking if we were ok & if there was anything they could do while waiting.
Well impressed.
Recommend Smart Rescue to everyone.

Utterly awful company if anything goes wrong!
They won’t recover you if it isn’t local and insist in local repairs.
They don’t call back and monitor that work whilst you’re stranded.
Their complaints process is woeful where they don’t ascertain the details and don’t bother calling back.
Despite numerous requests for calls back, they don’t bother.
Over three months waiting for a complaint to be resolved with absolutely no progress.
Do yourself a favour and get a reputable trustworthy company

Used the app to register my breakdown. Was messaged with an estimated time of arrival within the hour. Ten minutes later had a call to say breakdown/recovery was on the way. Ten minutes later he arrived and told clutch had gone. Car loaded onto truck and dropped to local garage. Excellent service and all within specified time. Cant fault them.

Significant/terminal engine failure. In the system at 17:17. The initial 1 hour recovery target time came and went. Extended by a further 30 minutes. Regular checks on me from polite, friendly staff as although I was pretty safe, road was very fast. When it became apparent that the appointed recovery outfit (Burrows, Derby) was stringing Call Assist along, the operator sourced a Notts-based recovery on the basis that I would go with who came first. 2 hours and counting. Got confirmation that Nottingham Breakdown would attend within an hour at 19:26. They turned up just before 20:00 I think but meanwhile I got a message to say Burrows was en route (19:31). At around 20:15 I got a call from Burrows to say they were on their way (3 hours after breaking down). I explained I'd just been picked up which he was a bit surprised about. So, I guess my point is Call Assist and I were strung along by a supplier who wanted the call out but couldn't deliver. They need to take appropriate action to prevent cowboys appearing on their supplier list and figure out why Burrows call out wasn't closed down when I got picked up. Nottingham Breakdown were very good

Reporting of breakdown was done easily through a link sent to my phone where I filled out the details of the problem and my location. The exact location was not listed as an option however so I rang them and checked they did know exactly where I was. So far so good.
Communication via the app was good. Estimated times for recovery were given and check ups made at the given time. Although the times had to be revised several times that’s to be expected and each time communication via the app was good and in one instance they also rang me to check I was ok. I again checked on live chat that they had the correct location and was assured yes.
The reason I did not give a 5 star review was that when the recovery chap arrived he had in fact not been given my correct location and could have been with me earlier. He also had not been given the details I had so diligently entered into the app regarding the problem and had not arrived in a vehicle that could recover me. He then had to call his office to inform them I needed recovery (which I had already told them several hours earlier) and I had to wait another hour for a recovery truck.

We are very proud of our 1989 Saab 900 turbo convertible and don’t expect the average, even well trained mechanic to be familiar with our car. On this occasion, however, the technician listened to the symptoms, started checking various lines under the bonnet and soon found the fault. He insisted on taking us to his base and having the fault checked over as a guarantee. The repair was confirmed and we were underway in less than an hour after initial contact with Start Rescue. Brilliant, everyone.

I had a quick call out within an hour to a fairly remote location and the mechanic got me back on the road really quickly and I was very relieved not to need a tow. It was my first time needing a callout and I was very happy with the outcome.

Call answered promptly and I was kept updated with expected arrival time. The mechanic did arrive about 10 minutes late. Gave good advice on likely fault, although he got it started it failed again quite quickly. Gave me good info on time scale for recovery truck. Recovery truck was excellent as had to manoeuvre quite a tricky corner to load up and then reverse down a narrow street. The night (early hours) had turned chilly and he had thoughtfully turned heater up for us.

I own a Campervan rental company and on the 10th May one of my customers had a vehicle breakdown. Call assist responded and the vehicle was recovered to a garage in Inverness to be fixed. Following the repair when I collected the vehicle I noticed that during recovery, one of the straps had been rubbing against the wheel arch which had rubbed through the paint to expose bare metal. I notified call assist and they asked me to provide pictures of the damage as well as to obtain two quotes for repair. I sent them pictures of the damage and then went to three different panel beaters for a quote. One panel beater never got back to me and I had to chase the other two for quotes for weeks as they kept saying they were too busy. Whilst chasing for quotes I received an email from Hannah Packman (Senior Investigator) dated 11th June informing me that because I had not provided the documentation (pictures/quotes) requested, she would not be upholding my complaint. I emailed her back the same day and asked that she review her decision due to the fact that I had been awaiting the two quotes which I included in my email reply to her as well as pictures of the damage. I didn't hear back from her so I again emailed her on 12th July stating that I did not feel my complaint had been dealt with fairly and re-iterating that it was beyond my control as I was awaiting quotations from the panel beaters. She did not reply to this email either. Today I called Call assist and left a message with her colleague Lloyd who assured me that he would ask Hannah to respond but I did not get any call so I felt that I have no option but to put my review of this company online to help others. The complaints service leaves a lot to be desired and I am very disappointed that despite providing the documents requested, I have been blatantly ignored ever since.

Tim the call handler was exceptional. He made two welfare check calls to me to ensure that I was safe and ok. He was reassuring and kept me informed. The Recovery vehicle driver called me within 5 mins of submitting the online breakdown notification and was with me within 30 mins. Highly recommend this company.
