Highly misleading company- there's little clues in hindsight like the grammar in their website - these are cheap Chinese shoes, and they're not barefoot style. They're not made in banff like they claim, they're from China, shipped from China, take forever to show up and not Canadian at all! These same shoes are sold on AliExpress for a mere fraction of the price and they're very poor quality

Beware of Canadian-Adventure – Misleading Branding & Deceptive Refund Policy!

I ordered from Canadian-Adventure, believing their claim that their products are made in Banff, Alberta. Turns out, they’re actually manufactured in China, and the company hides this behind clever marketing.

Even worse, their “100% refund guarantee” is a joke. They refuse to provide a prepaid return label, instead demanding that customers pay high international shipping fees to send items back to China—a crucial detail they fail to disclose at checkout.

When I raised concerns, I received the same copy-paste response from three different reps, each time pretending to be sympathetic while insisting I was responsible for return costs. Each rep also increased the partial refund offer, as if they were doing me a special favor—first 15%, then 25%, then 40%. If they can afford to keep bumping up the refund, why not just honor the full refund they promised in the first place?

This company misleads customers about where their products are made and uses deceptive refund policies to trap them. If they were truly proud of their products, they wouldn’t have to rely on false advertising and shady return policies. Avoid them.

Like others, I foolishly fell for the implication this was a Canadian company. Live and learn…. In name only. Ships from China.
I ordered a 7.5 size. Took awhile to arrive.
I put on my socks and tried on the shoes.
Sole is a nice rugged sole. After that the meshing on the shoe, the elastic lacing and the insole is crap.
No inner arch supports, elastic needs to be cinched so tight to keep the shoe snug. Meshing may be breathable but even with a heavier sock, my foot slides in the shoe.
You may get free shipping for delivery but good luck on returning them.

After searching for ‘Canadian made hiker’ I decided to try these. When I received my tracking information I noticed they were shipping from China. The shoe arrived and the upper ‘breathable material is very flimsy. Can’t see how they’d be waterproof as it’s a very light mesh. The shoes description indicated arch support and there is none. If I tried to hike in these shoes I’d twist my ankle. The insole is like paper, not padded at all. The bottom sole and tread appear ok. I’m extremely disappointed. If I’d tried these on in a store I would never have purchased them. The quality I was assured is not there. Maybe those manufactured here in Canada are better but there is NO indication on their website that they buy the material from Vietnam and that they ship from China. Perhaps that needs to be written on their website. I don’t feel they were worth what I paid.

I barely fit into my size 6 shoe. I literally have to be barefoot. I bought these for work...mostly for the anti-slip feature. Took about a month to receive them...from China. I'm going to say they might last a month in my line of work - serving. Going to wear them at work today, barefoot, but bringing my other shoes just in case. Also, they have a loosening string on the top that is useless, because the strong elastic determines the tightness around the top of your foot...and believe me, they are tight. Disappointed.

Very misleading!!! Definitely not made in Banff nor is it a Canadian product. Very cheaply made. Totally disappointed. Don't buy!!

The web site leaves you with the impression that you are dealing with a Canadian company, based in Banff. NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH.

The products are shipped from China. Should you want to return them they have to be sent back to China and you pay the freight.

But it's clear that they do not want you to return them. They will discourage from this you while at the same time offer you a second pair for a discounted price, or some other 'incentive'. Ultimately you end up keeping that pair of cheaply made shoes that you paid far too much for even with whatever discount you agree to.

The shoes are not nearly as substantial as they appear on the website. If you were looking for bargains in Walmart and came across these shoes for $30 you'd probably pass them by. In fact shoes that look very similar are on Amazon for around $35, but not under the Canadian Adventure brand name.

The web site looks great and the prices are attractive relative to other brandname barefoot shoes. The returns policy seems reasonable and an email conversation with the customer service department about sizing left me feeling reassured that if the shoes didn't fit that I could exchange them relatively easily. Boy was I mistaken.

The reviews on the website are all favorable (of course), but it wasn't until too late that I realized there is no way to submit a review. As well when you scroll through the reviews they start to repeat after 20 or so. Do not believe their lies.
