Looking at 80 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many customers appreciate the high quality of the products, finding items like hoodies and trousers to be durable and well-made. Reviewers often highlight the excellent customer service, with staff being responsive, helpful, and effective in resolving issues. The delivery service is frequently praised for being fast and prompt, with orders arriving as expected or even sooner than anticipated. However, some customers also noted significant issues with delivery times, describing them as exceptionally slow or experiencing delays without updates. There are also complaints about the delivery company used, with some people reporting unreliability and poor communication, and issues with packages. A few other people also felt that customer service was unhelpful or non-existent, particularly when dealing with delayed refunds or faulty items, leading to frustration and a lack of resolution. Additionally, some consumers experienced product quality issues, such as stitching fraying or colors fading after a short period, which they felt were not adequately addressed.

Women’s insulated bibs do not fit.

I have a pair of women’s carhartt bibs that I purchased in 1997 and I still wear them! They are very very worn but they have always fit great. I want to replace them but the product that carhartt now sells may fit some woman but it won’t fit this one! In addition the leg zippers should go all the way to the waist like my old ones. They should also have a front zipper as do my previous pair. I’m willing to pay for this but they don’t even offer these features that I can see. The designer is either a man or a woman who has never needed to squat behind a bush while wearing bibs!! Besides all the excess material in the “area between your legs” makes me think they were designed by a man. I tried on a pair of small/short women’s bibs and they are huge. Ended up replacing my favorites with a different brand that fit better but still didn’t have the features I wanted!

Unsatisfactory response to complaint with tshirt bought online

I bought a t-shirt, and washed it as per the usual laundry guidelines and it came out of the machine covered in a strange residue. None of the other items in the wash had this residue on it, just this tshirt. I sent photos to Carhartt enquiring about the return and refund processes in this instance but I've been told by Sabrina (one of their complaints reps) they reject my claim, the fault cannot have happened at their factory and quoted me German Civil Codes. In effect, they've suggested dishonesty on my part about the issue in order to try get a refund. They closed the claim without any resolution, and Sabrina's engagement with me was curt and unhelpful, to say the least. The item is faulty and the issue will be escalated as per EU Consumer Codes.

This is not what I call Work in Progress :(

I would like to comment on the clothes but cannot. However if the clothes are the same quality as their customer service then I would not touch with a bargepole. Here is the sorry story:

8th January item ordered on website in line with when they said they could deliver - it was a gift.
8th January credit card debited for £125.
8th January Order acknowledgement.
Nothing else received.
13th January I started to chase and received one standard email giving all the things they could not do rather then what they could i.e. could not refund once order in progress etc etc.
14th January I said either deliver or cancel as I believed that this was still sitting in Carharrt system somewhere and hadn’t even got to order delivery stage another standard email due to problems they said with backlogs (not a me problem - put resource on or turn down the orders if you cannot fulfil).
15th January - magically I received a UPS tracking number from UPS saying items on way.
19th January I received Carharrt tracking notification that the items were on the way.
There was nothing to do apart from wait.
The items got stuck in UPS system and when I called they said that Carharrt had requested a return on 19th.
I chased Carharrt who advised the wrong postcode was on form. I showed them my original order (correct postcode) and what they provided to UPS which was different. I also said that UPS were regular visitors here and they know where we are.
Carharrt then came back and advised there is no guarantee that the item would get here so were now going to get it back.
I said - you have been given correct address twice and it is sitting in a local warehouse, just give UPS the correct postcode and get them to deliver. They just said they were arranging a return. They eventually refunded. I have asked daughter and friends to not use this
S--tShow of a Company. Appalling service :(

There is no customer service - it is now 5th February and this item sat in the Warehouse until 3/2 and now is at Dock today. What sense does the above make.

I recently had an issue with a return

I recently had an issue with a return, and the customer service team went above and beyond to help me out. They were understanding, professional, and made an exception even though my request was outside their normal policy. Really impressed with how they handled everything.

Terrible delivery and customer service

Terrible delivery and customer service. I had to return the item I ordered , and they only work with UPS , which in many areas of the Uk , there are only lockers. The label that Carhartt WIP generates for you to send the parcel back , don’t work on those because you need a PIN number that Carhartt don’t provide. So maybe you have to travel miles and miles to send the parcel back to an actual shop. Take this inconvenience in consideration before buying from them if you don’t have any UPS shops near you , in case you have to return it.

Have I gone back in time?

Ordered an item six working days ago now and not had a single update to say where it is, beyond the initial one saying it is being processed. In comparison, I've ordered from other retailers in less time and had dispatch updates and deliveries. I'm at a loss as to why such a reputable brand cannot deliver better customer service. They must do better. I'll update this review if my experience changes.

Attention Carthartt shoppers

Don’t order online their delivery men are thief’s! I have the guy on camera taking a pic of my order and then picking it up and walking away! They won’t honor my refund just because he took a picture of it by my porch. Don’t let this happen to you just go to the store and buy what you need. I got robbed by the delivery service they use which is ups and no one cares not carthart or UPS. Both parties won’t do anything about it. So both parties are thief’s!

Delivery nightmare

Only received my item out of pure luck and determination. The item its self is as promised but to get it was a mission and the complete lack of care and customer service from them was no help at all. My item was delivered to another house which they were not interested in at all. I did manage to find the house from the picture of the front door which was a 20 minute drive from mine and did get my item but like I say pure luck and determination. Will not risk buying again

Shipping took ages… extremely disappointed

Shipping took ages. Once shipped, UPS was absolutely horrible. It was incredibly slow, no delivery was attempted (me and my neighbors have been in all day and nobody has shown up) and now it says the item is being taken to a local collection point. Very disappointing and expected so much better from Carhartt… paid over 6 pounds for this absolutely incompetent delivery service.

Zero customer service, just going around in circles

I am a loyal carhartt customer and have spent thousands of pounds with this brand

I contacted carhartt WIP via the online contact form to report an item I purchased in Manchester on 2nd December is faulty. I was sent a reply saying to return it via the portal but this required an order number and it was an instore purchase. I queried this with ‘Maya’ and was told they are unable to help me and I need to call the Manchester store directly. I am partially deaf and so emailed back to ask for a contact email but this was ignored.

I eventually found the Manchester email address myself online and also an email that apparently dealt with faulty items so I copied them in. I sent photos of the faulty items and the receipt.

I have now just received an email back from the second email address advising me to contact the online email address which I have already been told won’t help?!? I have had no reply from the Manchester store at all as yet.

I am going around in circles. I just want to return the item for a refund. I live a 150 mile round trip from my nearest store so I’ve asked for a return label but nobody will help me.

Under the consumer rights act 2015 I would like to return this faulty item and I don’t understand what the difficulty is.

I am a longstanding customer of carhartt WIP and I’m extremely disappointed by the lack of assistance thus far. The accessibility options are very poor and the customer service is non existent. There is evidently a significant training need for your staff.

Uodating to say that I went back to Maya at the online customer service address as I was told to and she re-iterated that she couldn’t help me.

Fortunately the store manager at the Manchester branch answered my email and couldn’t have been more helpful. He/she was a pleasure to deal with and an absolutely prime example of how to provide customer service. They could do to roll him/her out as a role model for the rest of the staff. Thank you ‘G’ at the Manchester branch, you’ve been amazing.
