These guys mugged me for 15 quid. I only wanted and paid for one car history check but was charged 15 GBP again next month for no reasons. Someone should report these guys to small claims court !
The report is ok but what they don't tell you on the homepage or selection page for silver £2.99 gold £7.49 or platinum £11.99 is for the full platinum check you will need the V5 registration documen... See more

disappointed with guarantee experience. but other wise good.
Was given wrong date of V5 and so guarantee not authorised. No warning of three and your out as it where. Could have done it fot £5 without guarantee option elsewhere. Having said that good quick service and thorough.

Thank you for your feedback. Whilst we only accept 3 attempts at updating the guarantee, we are able to extend this if required which you can do by emailing a request to statuscheck@hpi.co.uk. The reason we limit it to 3 attempts is to prevent fraudulent activity as we found it was being misused as a means to match dates which were entered multiple times at random.
In regards to warning how many attempts we allow, we have taken your feedback onboard and I will relay this to our development manager as a suggestion to make improvements to the service. Many thanks for highlighting this.

Did the job
The check gave me the basic information I needed, however was nowhere near as comprehensive as previous checks I did last year with another company for a lower cost. I was disappointed that I wasn't shown the dates of the previous change of owners. The information was received quickly and I have no problem with the ease of doing the check online. I was left feeling disappointed overall though. I also think that the outstanding finance should be available in the basic check rather than having to pay more to find this out.

Many thanks for your feedback. In terms of our vehicle information, we get this from the DVLA who will only provide records on the last registered keeper of the vehicle. This is also reflected on the V5 registration document. We appreciate your feedback in regards to financial data on the basic check however you will find that no other company offers this for the same price. We understand the importance of checking for outstanding finance which is why we offer the gold check for only a few pounds extra.
Very accurate!
In this day and age I wouldn't buy a used car without first paying for the status check of the vehicle. £10 isn't a lot compared to what you'd pay if you ended up paying for a car that was written off/stolen etc.

Pleased with the speed but potential problem
Speed was very good however I used the platinum service and a page come up saying that with silver service the finance or loan info was not avaialble. That should have been part of the platinum service. Did I get this or not, if so was it okay and if not why not?
Otherwise very impressed.
Re the query please advise either way.
LOTS of Trouble sending this review to you, have reduced stars from 4 to 3 as a result. Sorted but conditons are too long and therefore not user friendly
