what a SCAM they are running

Ordered my phone in November 2025 was told about numerous delays via WhatsApps- can not get hold of then on the phone - all communication stopped in February 2026 so take it I am not getting my phone - such a scam - so frustrating hard earned money down the drain

Fraud and Theft

Cenava Electronics store advertised as based in Pretoria:

Please read through the massive volume of negative reviews before purchasing anything from this store. My experience is the same as dozens of others, taken my money and dissappeared. Please also pay close attention to their generic excuse provided to each unhappy customer, it's impossible for the same problem to apply to a multitude of different customers. I would like to action a "class action" group lawsuit against this company, I have the resources, and welcome any and all disgruntled customers to reach out and to join me. It's time to dismantle this dishonest business.

Update: 15/01/2026 - just visited their listed premises this morning (still listed as open online), to be told by other tenants they moved out about 3 months ago.

My experience with Cenava has been extremely disappointing from start to finish. Product information on their site was inaccurate, models pictured differed from what was actually being sold. Communication was consistently poor, updates were contradictory, and I was left to follow up repeatedly just to find out what was happening with my order. The entire process was handled unprofessionally, with little regard for the customer.

After weeks of back-and-forth, Cenava agreed to issue a refund, but then failed to follow through and stopped responding altogether. I ultimately had to escalate the matter through my bank to recover my money.

This kind of behaviour raises serious concerns about the company’s integrity and reliability. Based on my experience, I would caution others to be extremely careful when dealing with this business.

In addition, I noticed that the website claims Cenava (Pty) Ltd is a registered South African retailer, but no registration number is given and I was unable to locate any company by that name on the CIPC database.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise caution when dealing with this company.

Terrible, Money Wasted.

I Ordered a Phone on the 1st Nov 2025 and was told the phone is in stock. After a week I Enquired on the Status and they Changed the Status to Shipped. A Courier Number was sent. When the Courier was contacted they Said Only pickup was arranged On the 17th, 10 day later! On the Pickup date Courier Said there was no Package to pick up. Then a Generic Mail was sent to Inform me the Package is On its way From Hong Kong. On the 14 Nov A mail was sent from Cenava to ask for a review on the Product?? No Product to review?? On the 20th Nov Pictures of Phone Boxes were sent to me and I was Told The Package Will Be Sent at the Latest 21st Nov 2025. A Refund Was requested 18th Nov 2025. A Reply was sent that if my request is due to a Delayed Delivery to wait a few more days. On the 21st Nov 2025 The Refund was to be Done. Untill now(26th Nov 2025) there has been no communication to Give the Status on the Refund or Device Delivery. What a Terrible way to do business. I Do not Trust that this Company is Legit.

Bad service

I placed an order online on 29 October 2025 and made the payment. When placing the order, the status read IN STOCK. After payment was made, the status was updated to AWAITING SHIPMENT. I send numerous emails and try phoning all the relevant numbers, with no success. On the website they claim to return within 24 hours. That's not happening. Was this a scam? Can I get refunded? Can someone return my mails and give me an update?

Extremely bad service

So after close to 3 months I received a device.This after hours of phone calls and even getting a SAPS inspector involved I received a device today only to see it's the wrong device.I orderd and paid for a Armor 33pro I received a Armor 30 pro witch is over a 1k difference in price.I must say the device is in good condition works and does look new.This after numerous obstacles of shipment being faulty me being flexible in all areas we have arrived at this point.I am going to cut my loses on this one lesson learned use a known company.Guys dont make the mistake I did buy a phone from someone trustworthy.

No delivery, no contact, empty promises

placed my order 17 July 2025 and have received nothing but empty promises. They blatantly lie to you and do not want to give refund. They never answer the phone and when they do it is excuses. Best option for them is to close shop before someone finds there home adress.

Fraudulent company

To anyone interested in purchasing from this company : Don't.

Ordered a phone on the 28th of July, and was supposed to be delivered 2-5 working days later. After that period elapsed I requested a refund as it was for a school project and would then not be in time. Sent a WhatsApp message and received a email a day or so later requesting my banking details to effect the refund. This would take another 10 working days.

To cut a long story short, I never received a refund. After countless efforts to get hold of them (which I did every now and again) I concluded that I will never see the money again.

But just to give you some insight of the type of company this is, I'll give you the last answer I received from them.

They said, they can only give me a refund if they sell other products to get my money back, since I canceled my order. They have the stock but not cashflow to refund me, and that is why it would take 10 working days (in my case more than 2 months later)

I advised them that, that is unfortunately not how a refund works, since they are basically using clients money as financing to run their business. And that they are in fact committing fraud, since they do not have products to send out to clients, but receiving payments for it. And then not able to refund clients, but rather using that to pay rent, salaries etc.

So just be aware, that you are either going to wait a very, very long time for products (because they don't stock it since they need to order from overseas) or you are going to part from you hard earned cash forever to pay their expenses.

Have I been scammed?

Before I ordered the product (Blackview phone), I first called to make sure this was not a scam company and to ensure the item was in stock (which I was told yes it was). This was Friday 24th October. I also asked by phone, by when I would receive the item and the man said by Monday (27th) if I paid that day (which I did). It is now the 30th October, no phone in sight and they do not answer their phones. Have I been scammed???

Probably the worst company to try and…

Probably the worst company to try and communicate with. Never pick up phones. Barely answers WhatsApp. Email is unresponsive. Still waiting on a proper order update.

Update 1: Finally received my order after runarounds due to shipping errors being made. Open up the box, surprise they sent the wrong phone.
This seems to be a recurring problem for the company if you read the various reviews.
Now since I benefit from their error, I thought hell let's try and help them. I phoned, explained the problem. They said they will attempt to rectify the mistake.

Update 2: Once again the company does not surprise. Failed to deliver on update deadlines and also don't seem to care that they lose their own money. Still have not received my original order.

Do not buy. Do not support.
