I’ve been using Certas Energy for around three years now. The engineers I’ve had have been brilliant and very knowledgeable on the boilers

The prices are on the higher side, which is a shame, especially as my understanding is that this doesn’t reflect the engineers’ pay, which appears to be lower compared to other companies.

I will continue using them as long as my usual engineer remains with the company.

Being in a disabled household we need a reliable boiler and only use certified engineers , that is why when we received an offer from Certas we decided to give them a chance as we use them for oil ,
Everything seemed ok at first with the exception that the Engineer who attended only took 30 mins to do a full service ,we then Received there Invoice and discovered they are charging a 500% mark up on a part fitted a Danfoss Burner Nozzle Which costs £6.50 we were charged £31, I have contacted Certas regarding this and even wrote to there Director Steve Little who unfortunately could not take the time to respond back to me , There response was that there pricing is part cost + a REASONABLE MARGIN so a 500% Markup is reasonable to Certas the £6.50 part i quoted as the cost price was a grey or unbranded part and it costs them more to store these parts ,maybe they tuck them in at night , But just to be crystal clear its the same genuine Danfoss nozzle that only costs £6.50 or less.
A markup of 500% is not reasonable.
The Company we were going to use before stupidly trying Certas were charging £12 for the same part .

There are plenty of heating engineers out there that charge a reasonable Markup on parts .

just a quick update I received a reply from Certas asking me to contact Dave at Customer care , this is a generated response to make it look like they care I have already contacted Dave the bot previously with no response , Certas have all the details required to contact me .

Our engineer Riki Urquhart is brilliant. Been to the home a number times. He's extremely knowledgeable, sits in the cold with the boilers and never complains. Would recommend certas energy 95 percent of the time.

Mark has been servicing our aging boiler for many years and it has been completely trouble free. He is a highly capable and experienced engineer whom I would strongly recommend. In fact I would not like anyone else near my boiler!

Engineer Ronnie Brown very good and neat and tidy.

However the service was for my 88 year old mother who needed me to be with her at the service. She had left instructions for the engineer to call me before getting to her but this did not happen and she was very anxious when she called me to say the engineer had arrived. My details had not been updated to his PDA. I feel this needs to be addressed and the reason for the 4 stars. Ronnie himself was excellent.

Always trust our Boiler engineer and always ask for him by name, Mark Armstrong, works efficiently and with an exterior boiler always cleans it before he leaves. Provides a clear explanation of the work done and fully trust the service has been done in full and to expected standards. Highly recommend.

Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable engineer

Annual oil boiler service. Engineer was PHILLIP COOKE. He was punctual, friendly and concerned to explain what he was doing. In fact this was the third year he's maintained my boier. I will use Certas next year and request Phillip again.
