Customer service is a nightmare. This company stole my money.

Customer service is a nightmare. I live overseas and have my plan on pause, they re-started it after I asked them to continue the pause and took over $100 out of my Australian account without my knowledge. Once I finally checked that account (which I don't often do because I'm not in Australia) I realised they had drained all my cash. When I contacted them, they were absolutely useless at assisting me and asked me to pause my account via a link that requires me to have access to Australian network (after I told them multiple times that wasn't possible).

BUYER BE VERY VERY WARY!!!!!

First let me say that I have been a loyal customer of Circles.Life since their inception into the Australian market in 2016. Till now I have only had one problem with their service until the 28th September 2024 when I got on their Chat Line to enquire about downgrading my Plan. That's when my problems began. I was offered a new plan of,
$23 per month for 12 months with 50gb data for 12 months. I agreed to this. When my plan details changed in the app it did not reflect the plan I agreed to. Long story short, after many emails & chats with customer service persons, John, Christopher, Evar, Mary, Shiela, Apollo & Tricia (who by the way hung up on me in the chat line🤨 even after I explained I am elderly & can't type fast) I was told the plan they had offered was no longer available. Circles Life would not honour the plan I was offered????? I was offered a more expensive plan which I'm not happy with & told them so. It seems to me Circles.Life have grown too big for their boots & have no regard for their little customers. I'm a 71 year old aged pensioner & was just looking for a cheaper plan with less data as I wasn't using the full data I had on my old plan. This whole experience has been very stressful & I don't like the way they are taking advantage of me. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE

terrible customer service, beware of roaming

Summary: Fine unless you actually need to contact them or use roaming.

Wish I'd read some of these reviews earlier! Activated a monthly roaming pack while overseas, but there must have been a significant delay between activating on the app and having it work on their end, because (according to them) I ended up racking up over $120 of charges before it kicked in, despite a delay between activating the pack and actually getting the settings right on the phone for it to work. Tried contacting them to dispute but the response time is terrible (they say 1 working day, more like a week or more) and even web chat just resulted in them saying 'can't do anything myself, we'll email you'. I'm reluctant to leave before getting this sorted, but it's not looking promising. Beware!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I bought two phones from Reebello and stupidly added two SIM cards for $2 from this circle life company. The phones after setting the SIM cards up didn’t work so returned them still waiting for my refund since May so 4 months ago. I can’t cancel on their app because it’s sending a code to the phones I don’t have and have written 10 emails to cancel both accounts. They said they will keep charging me until I cancel which I said I just did, and have been trying for 2 months as I never used the phones ie their plans of $10 per month per phone. I ended up cancelling my bank card via ANZ a month ago but an hour ago they took another $20 so to date ripped me off about $200. I called my bank to report the transaction again and now I have cancelled the new card and waiting for another one. Apparently circle life have something called Visa Account Updater so this time ANZ said they will opt me out of that option for merchants 😩😩😩 Visa needs to remove them from using this feature as apparently they had to be approved to get this feature 👀🙈

Poor Coverage and Overcharging

Poor Coverage and Overcharging

I activated a $20 eSIM plan with Circle Mobile, but the coverage was terrible. Despite limited use, I was charged $40 for two months. Customer support was unhelpful when I questioned the charges. Very disappointing service—definitely not worth it.

We need not to give up, report them to TIO

I have been a longtime mobile user of the company. Last month I had activated international roaming for my overseas trip and cancelled well before the end of the month. Guess what ?? In the July bill, not only have I been charged for July, there is even the August charge in July bill. I tried to live chat with their customer service, nooooo way anyone admitted to any wrong doing . I will keep dispute it and get ready to submit my complaint to Telecom Industry Ombudsman. I'm here to encourage all Australian customers with issues use Ombudsman website (just google AU telecoms ombudsman) to stop such dishonest behaviour of this company

Dishonest and untrustworthy company

A company that doesn't listen and imposes extra charges for their own mistakes is unacceptable. I activated a $15-a-day roaming package while overseas, but the next month, I was billed over $90 for international charges. Despite contacting support, no consultant followed up as promised, leaving me to chase these unfair charges myself. They claimed the package was never activated on their end, even though the app confirmed it for me, and they refuse to acknowledge any error. Instead, they demanded screenshots of the data pack activation, which is unfair as I trusted their reliability and didn't expect to need evidence. I strongly advise against joining Circles, as they lack proper customer support and show a distrust of their customers.

Does not support MMS

Does not support MMS. I was wondering why I couldn't load any photos or send any via messages. Googled "MMS Circled Life" and turns out the company decided to stop supporting MMS due to scams...but SMS scams still exist and SMS is supported. Supposedly the 'no MMS' feature is in their terms and conditions, but it is definitely not easily found or explicitly stated on their website during the sign up process. Needless to say, I am changing to another e-sim provider after finding this out today.

Don't waste your time. Dishonest company

impossible to cancel the sim and you keep getting charged. The chat is automated with no one to speak to and you have to leave a message an hope someone calls you back. It takes several attempts to get anything resolved.

Horrible service provider

Essentially there are offers for new customers. As a circles customer for years now I attempted to get my plan and my mothers plan on the new deal. After many back and forth emails and online chats that were not helpful, I was told I cannot do anything and if I choose to leave I can. Have left circles and gone to a different provider for same price and more data. Circles is a rort! 😭

Ended badly, less for more, no Happiness Experts available👎🏽

2 stars for past service, I was happy with Circles but it ended badly.
Without warning, changes were made to my plan labelled by Circles as a 'complimentary upgrade'. Essentially, the 'upgrade' reduced my data from 50GB for $25/mont to 30GB with rollover for $25/month. When I signed up for my plan, there was no time limit. In addition, reducing my data by 20GB meant I was paying more for less, the rollover being of no use as I generally use most of the 50GB data.

Contacting Circles was difficult, initial contact through AI where queries and responses were set and rigid and did not address my issue. Much time was wasted texting and leaving voicemails which were not responded to. I eventually spoke to a 'Happiness Expert', who was not a robot, but might as well have been, with the same rigid and scripted responses as the AI and, did not address my issue or query.

I have cancelled my plan and moved to another provider where I am getting 100GB for the same money. There is a time limit to this plan but I know what it is upfront and when it reverts in 8 months, I will still be paying less than I would be if I continued with Circles. The move was easy and quick and communication easy.

My original plan is still offered by Circles to new customers only but now with a set time limit of 12 months. I note Circles do not provide details of what the plan will be after the promotional offer ends which, in my opinion, is deceptive and misleading. Most of the other providers inform you of those details upfront.

Circles left me feeling penalised for being an existing customer making changes to my plan with no forewarning. This was nothing more than a money grab.

Circles are frustratingly difficult and time consuming to contact if you do not have a standard query that can be addressed by AI.

I note there are multiple providers who offer better deals. Take the time to read reviews and compare plans.
