Having ordered a watch from CityWatches, they quickly confirmed my order via email. The following day I was informed my order was complete and was being shipped via royal mail. I got no tracking number and it did take a bit longer to arrive than I expected it would. However it did arrive very well packed,I may say, and the guarantee card duly stamped. The watch looked better than on the website and has been working perfectly. Overall I am very pleased.

I ordered a watch from Citywatches.ie…
I ordered a watch from Citywatches.ie who advertise themselves as Ireland's online watch retailer. This is a lie. They are based in Singapore and as such any purchase is subject to vat and charges from DHL.
The online price is attractive, haven't received the watch yet but I'm sure it's fine but let's call this what it is.
So Sally, please don't blame people for falling for this. At no point are people made aware of the fact that you are in Singapore. Basic honesty would ensure that people don't end up with a bad taste in their mouth after purchasing from your site.

I ended up having to pay import duties and fees @c.50% of the retail price. VAT: 39.97 EUR
DHL Admin. Fee: 14.50 EUR Total: 54.47 EUR Dishonest and disgraceful practice. I will be taking this up with Fossil directly in the coming days, and highlighting your dishonest practices on social media. GAR HOLOHAN

The watch itself is perfect and the delivery was very fast, 2 days to Ireland, but my only gripe is that I had to pay import tax of €60 euros which was 50% of the cost of the watch. It doesn't mention this on the site and as the site had a .IE address I assumed it was based in Ireland.

Please note that this Company only has the Warehouse in Singapore, so even though they state that the delivery will be around 4 working days, it won't be because your good will be retained by customs and you will have to pay VAT, and handling fees if over 150 EUR (for Ireland) This information is in their website, but at no time you are prompted or warned about this in the ordering process. In the description, they make you think that the order will be shipped from Ireland (wording such as "Domestic Orders). I still haven't received my goods since the customs just now asked me for proof of purchase. So be advised that you will have to pay at least 23% more than the amount described in the website, and consider more 5 working days for the goods to be released from customs. I'll be sure to edit this review accordingly when the goods are released. EDIT: was asked for 38EUR in VAT and other expenses from DHL

Watch was delivered on time and it looks great but I thought this was an Irish company and my watch was shipped from Singapore. It ended up costing me an additional 25 euro for tax/duty charges which was very unexpected.

Great watch and service
Great watch and service.Watch arrived after 3 days. Customs did not believe the low price and demanded a copy of the invoice and a copy of the payment from my bank account
I was charged 23% vat and a ckearance fee €14 by DHL
After psying this the watch was still 60% cheaper than buying in Dublin.
The stamped Seiko guarantee gives me peace of mind

fast delivery, but bear custom taxes. Not Irish business!
Reasonable price of the watch, but: costom taxes added 2/3 to the total. Thought citywatches.ie was local business, but shipping came from Singapore. Should state that more clearly on the web side. But that would probably prevent costumers from buying. Very fast delivering, but also there add 2 to 3 days for customs to clear.
