We had high hopes when we found your site but our single booking experience was highly disappointing.

We used the Cityzenbooking.com site to book accommodation in Nimes, France for 3 nights for 6th, 7th and 8th of June.
The whole process turned out to be a disaster for us as the booked accommodation was not actually available on those dates, despite our booking being accepted on your site.
After arriving by taxi at the accommodation site, we eventually found a non-English speaking caretaker. With translation assistance from two students living there, it turned out the caretaker had no record of our booking. Over the next two hours we made multiple phone calls to your office trying to resolve the issue of our booking.
Your staff appeared unwilling to appreciate our predicament and were unable or not interested in addressing our problem. At this stage we were extremely frustrated and angry with your lack of service and apparent indifference to us.
It was only after we made direct contact with the owner of the property that a resolution was reached. There was no room available and he released us from our commitment. We then left the property and caught a second taxi back to the station. With difficulty, we found accommodation elsewhere.
The whole episode left us with a very poor impression of Cityzenbooking.com and we would not recommend this site to friends travelling in France.

Further to Cityzen response we make the following reply:

Dear Marie
The credit card was a side issue. It is incorrect to say the booking was lost/cancelled. We supplied details of the wrong card and on receiving your email we telephoned and advised fresh credit card details. We were assured by the Cityzen operator the new card details had been accepted and our booking was still confirmed.

The owner of the property himself told us there was no problem with the new credit card details, but told us that he had never had any availability on those dates when we originally booked.

We do not have a problem with the owner, who an hour and a half after we arrived at the site asked Cityzen to find us alternative accommodation. He released the pre-authorisation on our credit card and advised that we would not be charged.

We declined the subsequent offer of booking further accommodation through Cityzen because of the experience we had just had, and the matter was completely finalised after 2 hours, when we left the property and took a taxi back to the station.

Our problem lies with the attitude and lack of interest by the phone operator we dealt with on the day at Cityzen. It is incorrect to say that you weren't able to reach us. We were stranded and during the multiple phone calls we made to your operator, she said several times she was too busy to ring us back.

We stand behind the comments we made previously, and those we make here.

We checked our records and it seems like there has been a misunderstanding with the property since they weren’t able to charge the card you provided to confirm the booking so they cancelled your booking without informing us.

Our customer service did try to find an alternative accommodation for you but we weren’t able to reach you afterwards.

it says free cancelation , but it not !!!!!

They asked to to pay 1200$ just because I booked a hotel for 3 mints !!

We checked your booking and it was mentioned that cancellation was free up to 2 days prior to arrival and you confirmed your booking exactly 2 days before your arrival date.

However, we did inform you that we contacted the property and managed to wave the cancellation fees. Therefore you were granted a free cancellation at last.

Excellent service, would recomend great value experience

Having tried to book into one of the well known Brand name Hotels, it seemed that i was totally out of luck, seemed to be quite a bit going on in Bucharest for the week i was to spend there, so i looked into the rental of apartments and studio flats, to my surprise there were quite a few available, and when i saw the price for a 6 day stay i just had to give it a go, when you are used to all the comforts of a 5 star hotel i must say i was a little uneasy as to what i had booked.
Upon arrival i was quickly put at ease by the complex manager Bogdan, he showed me my 1 bed studio apartment, fairly basic but also very adequate and all the usual home comforts including air conditioning, a must when in bucharest during the summer months, i hope this might be of help to anyone thinking negatively about self service apartments, i dont think you will ever go back to paying the high fees of hotels again, i know i wont !!!!!
200 euros for 6 nights i see as great value.

Disapointing

We booked with Citizen booking because they had the hotel and the room we wanted, but less than 48 hours before our departure we received a mail telling us that the room we reserved was sold out and that it would not have supposed to happen, but it was a human error...We looked to find this room on an other website, but at this time everything was sold out. They offer us to book a room the other site of the same hotel telling us that it has been renovated, etc. But when we arrived all those room were sold out and the only one left was not at all what we expected. So we had to go to another site visiting and see...it was 22:30 at night with 2 young kids.... Our stay was not what we expected and we were very trully disapointed. We won't book with them at all for sure.

Booking process was a breeze!

Cityzen offered exceptional rates for d property we had chosen . Responses came back quickly which assured us of our reservation. Confirmation followed shortly after. This is my first experience with Cityzen and will try to look
for them for my future bookings. Thumbs up for your efficiency! Keep it up.
