10/10 Service from David - Glasgow

David came to fit new front brake pads and discs to my car. Arrived promptly and text me when he was due to arrive. Helped me to understand the problems with my car and even took the time to look at other sections that I had asked him to take a look at.

All in all 10/10 service, thank you very much David!

Brilliant company and great…

Brilliant company and great communication. If you have a question they will come back to you quickly letting you know the answer. I booked the car in for Monday on the Sunday I got a text from the technician introducing himself and what time roughly he would be with me with in a 2 hour window. Monday got a text saying he would be with me by a certain time. He arrived told me what was going to happen and time scale. Unfortunately the car needs work done to it. The technician told me what the issue is , it could of happened. very knowledgeable. Would recommend click car serving have already booked my partners car in. Very happy with them

Jaguar XF Alternator Cowboy job.

Well, where to begin.

Sorry in advance to those reading, but this will be a long, detailed review. But honest and factual.

I am a Mechanical engineer by trade. moving parts are my thing. I also worked as a Saab master tech for 5 years shortly after qualifying.

Now having a diesel Jaguar XF and working behind a desk! When my XF needed a new alternator I had a look at the job and really didn't fancy it. Around 4 hours work and my knees are not what they used to be ! So I got myself onto, Mycaraneedsa.com, and ClickCarServicing provided a reasonable quote. I accepted the quote and the nightmare began.

Firstly I was contacted by Paul the director, who explained it was a difficult job, but assured me he had personally done three previously. So there was Firstly some messing around with booking me in. No link sent, then sent to the wrong number. The day I booked to work from home was no longer possible for Paul so I agreed to leave a key with my son who would give it him on the day.

My car was parked on the drive and luckily as it turned out, was covered by two ring cameras, both with audio.

Sure enough Paul turned up with Chris, a little late considering what job lay ahead for them. It very quickly became apparent some things were just not quite right.

Firstly, they turned up in a car. No well kitted out van as expected, just a private car with the most basic of tools. Chris quickly got the car up on a trolly jack and then went under. No axel stands, no regards for safety. There he was under a two ton car on a trolly jack. I watched from my desk at work in horror.

Things then got very interesting. Paul called me to tell me I had a crank seal gone and that's what had caused the alternator to fail, it had filled the alternator with oil. I was a little sceptical as I'd seen no evidence of an oil leak but agreed for the work to be done, for an additional cost of over £100. He assured me Chris would go and fetch one.

Chris returned from a supplier with two litres of coolant and a tube of what looked like glue .... I carried on watching in horror as Paul told Chris he'd managed to get another hundred quid out of me. They then used a wood saw, for cutting under the bonnet! Something I have never ever seen before!

At around 5.30pm, Paul calls to tell me he is all done, I may need a little coolant to top up. But all is done. I ask how it went and whether the crank seal was changed ok? He replies yes to all, and assures me everything has been done.

I then get home later that evening and decide to watch through the full 5 hour ordeal. The crank pully is never removed, the crank seal is never replaced. I feel absolutely robbed.

I write Paul an email outlining my concerns to which he openly admits to not replacing the crank seal, and it not needing a crank seal. Instead the oil feed to the turbo was tightened, a 30 second job.

The next day I decide to take out the car for a test drive. Less that half a mile from home and, coolant low is displayed. I quickly return home and there proceed to fill the car with 4 litres of coolant ! I replace the expansion tank cap, and take the car back out. Again, half a mile from home, coolant low is displayed. I head home once again. I pull on to the drive and fear the worst. I look under the car and coolant is gushing out.

I open the bonnet, for the first time since Paul and Chris's visit. It quickly becomes apparent the car has been butchered. Pipe clips missing, securing clips missing, a loose cold air intake that pulls straight out. A broken turbo air feed pipe, poorly glued, allowing unfiltered, unmetered air into the engine.

I write Paul another email attaching photos, giving him the opportunity to rectify the shoddy work. This goes unanswered. I copy in Duncan the operations manager who actually replies, starting Paul is dealing with it. The next day the 8th of August Duncan claims to have issued a refund. This has still not been received to this day.

I contract Mycaraneedsa.com support who try to mediate with Paul. No calls answered no emails replied to. They ask for proof of a refund, none sent.

In the meantime my car has now been off the road for 23 days. Broken. I have to rent a car to get to and from work. I decide enough is enough and have 2 days off work to rectify their amateur work. I strip the car down, undoing and rectifying everything they had touched. When I found a part missing I simply scoured the drive and would find it ! Clips, nuts, washers and screws, scattered across the drive.

I have now sent them a bill for all of this work, out of pocket expenses and guess what ... they've not paid that also.

I have now instructed a solicitor to sue them for every penny I have lost due to their shoddy work, and damages. I'm sure they will be receiving this very soon.

I hope this review saves all that read it a lot of time and money, dealing with this cowboy outfit.

Requested a full service on my car on…

Requested a full service on my car on august the 5th. Due to circumstances beyond their control that is the van being stolen i was unable to have a fitter come out. Weeks later someone came out but was unable to fix my car or tell me exactly what was wrong with it. No work was done. I have been awaiting a refund since august 23rd and its now October! Communication has been abysmal and I would not recommend this service to anyone. Still yet to receive my refund or a reply to the escalation of the same matter £150 seemingly down the drain

Not recommended

Booked a repair on 25/09/23 for 28/09/23. Spoke to technician am 28/09/23 who stated he didn’t know about the job, later told by another technician they could not get the part but would be able to complete 9am 29/09/23. Waited until 10.30am 29/09/23 when no one had appeared and asked if I should cancel the appointment I was told it’s entirely up to me. If they could not do the job I would have understood but, I feel let down and consider the response unprofessional.
