Bad attitude and communication

I ordered a mystery box in May, I was fully aware that there was a slight delay. An email was sent out stating orders would be sent out by the end of June rather than the beginning of June as expected, which was fine. I had sent one email just to ask for an update on my order, but never received a response but did get a few automated emails promoting new products. I had finally received my order mid August. The item wasn't great and not in the best condition, but that isn't necessarily their fault as this is what can happen when buying vintage.
I wasn't going to leave a review, but after receiving the email offering people 50% off their website in return for a good review, and then unprofessional emails in response to the backlash from that. I just can't believe they're so rude towards customers who have had a bad experience and basically blaming them for not being understanding.
I completely understand they're a small business and there are bound to be delays, but their communication isn't good and their attitude is bad. It really is a shame because I did love their concept and was so excited to get my order.

It is not a scam but extremely bad business…

I ordered a mystery box back in June. I was super excited because it was a great value and it was promising great items.
My box didn’t arrive on time, not even late, not even a few weeks later. And I still don’t have it.
What I have though are emails that are sent to everybody saying they are super busy, the shipment was delayed, they are doing everything they can… They post a lot on TikTok… so they have time for that.
But I tried to be patient as much as I could until I got an email saying that if people give them positive review and send a copy of their review to them they will get a code for 50% discount.
I am sorry but that was too much even for me.
The business has got some serious issues, they owe money to a lot of people, they do not seem to be sending any parcels out (judging from all the angry comments and reviews) yet they are sending emails to people asking for positive reviews in exchange for a large discount….
The idea of selling second hand clothes is not new but I thought it is a good little business worth supporting. Not anymore…
I am not angry they kept my money, it wasn’t much but what really gets me is that they don’t seem to care about it at all..
Please do not waste your money on this business, it sadly isn’t worth it.

Ordered vintage sweatshirt mystery box…

Ordered vintage sweatshirt mystery box in May. I saw there were delays so gave it until July to chase up & got a stock response. Chased again in August and got no reply. I had to go through my bank to get a refund. I understand it’s a small business which is why I gave it longer than normal but a really poor experience overall unfortunately.

If I could give 0 stars I would.
I ordered a mystery box back in June/ July and a month later I still hadn’t received my box.
Don’t bother emailing them because even if you send them a polite email they don’t get back to you, you just get a generic email from the owner moaning about the negative emails they receive.
I eventually, nearly 4 months later, I received a refund which is highly annoying as I actually wanted the product but was not prepared to wait 5 months for my order.
Really disappointed.

If I could give 0 I would! I've seen all of 'Clothes before bros' emails and tik toks about how mean their customers that give negative reviews are etc.. however I placed my order back in April! for 2 pairs of jeans (different mystery boxes) paid for quicker delivery and left a tip, after finding the company on Tiktok. Obviously after their viral video I totally understood the delays they were experiencing and after a month I reached out regarding my order. I was met with the standard delays email and eventually a real person replied saying I would need to wait until both pairs were ready to be sent. Absolutely fine I was totally happy to wait more of a surprise when they do come... right? so I wait and wait and wait it gets to the end of June and I email again to be met with more of the same "delayed" emails. Again Absolutely fine I'll carry on waiting... Although they are now showing the boxes I have ordered as "in stock"... maybe complete the orders you have before you take more, but hey no worries I'm being patient l will wait some more. It them gets to August and I decide I no longer want the jeans and email asking for a refund which is ignored. Not a problem I'll carry on waiting... weeks past so I email again to finally get a response that their auto refund system is down and to email my PayPal info so they can manually refund me. No problem I do that and guess what.... its ignored 😅 I then follow this up with several emails that are all ignored... this continues into the first week of October where I still have no items, no refund and absolutely no response. I continue to email and get nothing back so start to comment on their Tik toks... again ignored 😅 I then decided I've had enough by now it's been 7 months and I've had nothing from them... I finally decide I have had enough and start to comment on all of their videos and low and behold they finally message and refund! that service is a disgrace! if you are that overwhelmed with orders you should be thinking about closing your orders and actually sorting your previous customers orders out! You seem to have plenty of time to post about how nasty some of your customers supposedly are but to be honest we are just frustrated that you are not honest and then start to blame us for your shoddy communication!! It isn't my fault you fail to respond had you bothered to reply to your customers maybe you wouldn't have so many negative reviews because let's be honest they aren't all lies are they?! and the positive one's all got 50 percent discount for posting a positive review... not very honest is it lol.
I would NEVER order again and will be sure to pass on how awful this service has been to any future customers! AVOID!

2 months later, still no order

I really didn't want to write this review. I wanted to love this company because I love what they are attempting to do in terms of sustainability, and I personally only shop second hand or small business.

I made an order back in August after coming across their tiktok and it had a presale date of September on it. I was fine with waiting, but it is now October. I saw the delay banners - I was fine with it - delay banners are all well and good but if you don't say how long the delay is everyone is going to interpret this differently.

Since, I have sent 2 emails. No response. What annoys me is - how can you complain all over the internet about customers getting mad and the volume of orders then continue to take more orders AND repeatedly send me email after email of promo for new mystery boxes?? Close your orders if it is that bad - you are adding to the problem. So many small businesses deal with this and do things such as open the shop one night a week to control the flow of orders.

I also think it is so ridiculous to be so outraged by people being annoyed, the way they slate their customers online is so strange. If the order stated - dispatched 4-6 months, people can't be mad, but it just says delays... Now all I read online is people calling it a scam... no wonder!

Also - they cannot respond to emails.... but as SOON as someone writes a comment on a tiktok they can reply within the hour??? make it make sense

Affordable slow fashion :)

Love this company as it is super affordable and sustainable!! It is slow fashion, so it’s been a while since I placed my order but no longer than fast fashion being shipped from abroad!! My last few orders have been brilliant and ordering to your measurements is great.

Refund

I requested a refund once I realised how significant the delay was on the company fulfilling orders and I also expressed to them my concern regarding offering a 50% discount for a positive review. Maxine was very prompt in her response to me and we had a good dialogue and it clarified to myself how the company fulfils orders, why the delay had happened etc. She listened to my own feedback that I think this information should be made more available to customers before they place their order and then it would be better for managing expectations on delivery times. She was very receptive to this.
I think the ethos and premise of this business is very promising and it’s not a scam but they just need to be more transparent with their customers so to avoid disappointment when there is a delay. My refund was processed promptly which is why I am giving this company 3 stars as I really do think it has the potential and in the future I would look to order once I was in a position to wait for goods!

Unhappy

I don’t think this company knows how to take accountability for wrongdoings. They seem to blame the customers for not being understanding but boy have I have tried my best to be understanding and kind, there comes a point where your customers should matter a little more. Bashing people for writing honest reviews is just terrible, it’s hiding the truth of the matter and slandering people who can’t afford to wait over 4 months for an order.

They constantly repeat they are not Amazon, and then expect customers to wait over 4 months, sometimes 6 for orders is actually frightening. Preying on people’s sympathy and then trying to redeem themselves with offering 50% off to new customers in exchange for positive reviews, that is a bad ethos. It also takes a little research to understand this is not ethical, which doesn’t align with the sustainability aspect of this.

I understand supplier issues but then why promote even more, to receive more unhappy customers. Take accountability, stop bashing your unhappy customers in horrible emails saying we are impatient. This is just poor customer service and a egotistical brand. Support local charity shops, go to car boot sales and vintage markets to be sustainable.

The low prices apparently equate to this wait time so if you are trusting enough to buy for 6 months in the future, sure this works for you. But for a real woman with a health condition, I don’t even know if my size will change in this time.

Do better.

Mixed feelings I keep getting sent…

UPDATE** | after making me wait months they’ve refunded and cancelled mine and other orders had a look on tiktok one girl had been waiting since may and they haven’t fully refunded her don’t order I waited 2 months and they ignored my emails asking for an update|

Mixed feelings I keep getting sent emails about delays in July when I ordered in September I sent a nice email saying no pressure I’d just like an eta as it’s been over a month they sent me months old outdated auto emails that had clearly been sent to a lot of customers I do thing they do good deals but if you can’t ship out a month old order why then do a £2.99 sale and 2 for £5 you say you need money but you have the money from mine and plenty of other orders it’s unprofessional and if you can’t keep up with orders you to need so limit your website for a week or two before you sort it out you can make all types of excuses but that’s our money and we trusted you to send items without people having to chase you up endlessly. You cannot take peoples money with sure poor organisation sort it out please guys

Great sustainable brand

Haven’t received my order yet but seems like such a lovely brand helping to reduce clothing waste and sell products for amazing prices. They really don’t deserve the slander and negative comments they have received especially from people who haven’t paid attention to their shop policies and wait times which were very clearly highlighted throughout the ordering process. Love this company idea

I’ve received my first order out of 4 and love it. I don’t understand why everyone is moaning. The company explain about the delays when buying and then have sent multiple emails explaining the delay and also have said that refunds are available within 7 days.
Can’t wait to receive my other orders

Took a punt for a fussy teen - we got a couple of T’s that he didn’t like but I did and a Ralph Lauren vintage jumper that he was all over - happy enough to pack in his bag for Uni.

Delayed delivery, delightful service

Whilst I experienced significant delays to my order, I would say this was handled really well. Laura reached out to me and explained the reasoning behind my specific delay (essentially because I’m really short and have awkward sizing they couldn’t get the size of jean I’d ordered which is fair). And then gave me multiple alternative options for how we could move forward. Ultimately I received jeans in normal leg length and they were fine anyways ❤️.

The only reason this is a 4 * and not a 5 is because of two reasons. A) I felt that I could have been proactively contacted given the delay I experienced (though understandable, given the recent virality of the brand - and I understand more staff have been hired which should help like things in the future) and B) I felt that orders should have been stopped at some point for them to catch up. Again though I get why!

I would potentially invest in someone to handle complaints, order errors etc❤️

Great idea and products!

I placed 2 orders at the end of august and have just received my first. The lovely team have been honest and upfront about delays and have offered refunds for those who don’t want to wait- not sure what else people expect them to do! The jeans were great quality and I’m so glad I waited for them. Leaving horrible reviews for a small business doing their best is despicable, I can’t wait to get my next order!

Repeat customer 🙋🏼‍♀️ A few months back I ordered and received the most beautiful Levi’s ever, I was so chuffed I ordered another mystery box. I find their customer service really good I’ve never ever had an issue- the item arrived within the timeframe provided (a few weeks) and in great condition especially considering they were preloved!
