Our story begins in the year 2000, when we became one of the first ever retailers to offer eyewear online. Not a great experience with the actual glasses, but easy returns and stellar customer service make up for it

I ordered a pair of glasses with similar measurements to my current frames, but when I received them, the lenses looked really thick. Luckily, Coastal has a great return policy, and they were really easy to reach and set the return up for me right away.

I then ordered a new pair of the same frames, but paid an extra $30 for thinner lenses. The glasses came in, and the lenses still seemed thick, so I compared them to the first pair, which I had not yet mailed back. The lenses were identical. I left a review on the glasses about it, and Megan W. reached out to help.

She got me a refund for the extra money I paid for the "thinner" lenses, and also complied a list of frames that would work better with my prescription. I was very satisfied with her customer service.

It would be nice if, when ordering through Coastal, they had something pop up with best frames for your prescription or something, because I didn't see anything warning me against the frames I chose, or anything letting me know that the more expensive lenses wouldn't actually be an improvement. It's possible that they do have something like this on desktop, but I missed it because I was on mobile, I suppose.

Disappointed to say the least.

I have ordered 2 times from Coastal and first time I only received an order for one eye and had to wait several weeks for the other one. I thought i'd give them a 2nd try and I'd a larger batch 6 mo supply and only got 1 box of each. When I complained, I only got sorry.
I am giving up on Coastal, tried to remove them from my overloaded email and still getting messages. I would try elsewhere if you need your contacts in a timely fashion!

Coastal is the ONLY place to get everything you want

Coastal is the ONLY place to get glasses. I’ve used them for years, then had the opportunity to buy my glasses from a store. That was a mistake. Coastal has tons of variety in every cost range, great customer service if you have questions or problems, and is a great bang for the buck!

It should also be noted that I have a very complicated prescription. I spend my money on the prescription, not the frame, but wou wouldn’t know it from looking! (Frames are $13 and $26 for me and look great!) Coastal has consistently gotten my prescription right the first time, every time. Higher end stores and even doctor’s offices haven’t done so well! (Only found on the gets it first time, but she retired and it cost an arm and a leg!)

In a nutshell, Costal has variety, excellent price options, fantastic service, innovative lens options, and speedy delivery that’s right the first time!

Repeat customer, not sure if I want to continue using this site.

Repeat customer, the glasses I ordered last year are good enough to use, although they chafe the skin on the bridge of my nose enough to bleed if I wear them all day. I'd say the lens quality and fit definitely doesn't feel as high as something I'd get in person at my local America's Best. But it was a bit cheaper. I just bought some Acuvue Oasys contacts which I've been using for years. The shipping time was good, but literally the first lens I opened was ripped, which was jarring because you don't expect a sealed lens to be damaged. I hope that's just a bad luck thing and the rest of these lenses don't have any problems. The next lens I put in looked ok but was causing discomfort in my left eye. I let it soak in some contact solution and just put it back in and seems to feel better, but I usually don't have to do that and can just put them right into my eye with no problem. Could this batch be defected/contaminated? Unsure how to proceed but this seemed like a useful way to make my thoughts known.

I'll see if I can update this post if there's further issues; this is my first submission to this website.

I've done a lot of searching and seen other people making comments about the same thing with first ripped contact from various distributors, so I think it's a significant quality control problem from the manufacturer. America's Best let me try some Biofinity lenses but I didn't like the fit, so I just re-ordered the Oasys, but I think I'll do some more research into other brands too.

Your shipping communication was very…

Your shipping communication was very messed up. You said it would arrive a month after I ordered it, resulting in me calling to cancel, only to be told by the customer service rep that it wouldn’t take that long but he couldn’t tell me when.

After all that it came 5 days after I ordered it, but it was very confusing and I don’t know if I’ll order from you again if you can’t give better estimates.
