Sneaky Cancellation Charges
Very sneaky £40 cancellation charge buried in the T&C's. You have no choice but to cancel the insurance once your learner passes and yet Collingwood have the cheek to charge you for the same. Even if you let the policy run for the full 12mths and expire, they do a cross check with the DVLA if your learner now holds a full driving license and will charge you regardless.
Judging by the numerous similar reviews across the internet many others have fallen foul of this buried in the T&C's - Shame on you Collingwood, crafty way of making the premium look cheaper than it is in reality.

The modern day highway robbery scam!
This insurance service is a complete scam and their ‘customer service’ is a disgrace.
Having paid £244 for learner insurance for my son, he was then prompted to cancel his insurance when he passed his test. They are clearly actively scanning pass results. With 3-4 weeks still to run on the policy, I expected some refund. The recalculated premium showed £75 less than the original premium.
Imagine then receiving a demand for a £40 cancellation fee, supposedly ‘agreed to’ in the t’s and c’s. Oh, and the £75? Non refundable.
It’s a complete and utter scam. The policy exists to provide learner cover, the goal of which is to PASS their driving test. They ‘reward’ new drivers by CHARGING them for their efforts.
I was further informed that had we not cancelled the policy, they would automatically cancel, which would then have a future impact on insurance quotes for my son. That is not ok in any way.
When new drivers pass, the policy should cease. That is not the same as cancel. I will never use their services again and my advice to new customers is to avoid.
