Mr Shortt has always been very friendly and professional every time I attended his eye clinic for a consult. He listens attentively to any concerns or worries and explains every step he takes during the eye tests. The prescribed medication is usually first explained in terms of its functions before recommending a dosage.
I would recommend him to anyone with any type of eye condition requiring attention from a trained medical professional.

Very good experience
Very good experience, Mr Shortt was very diligent and installs trust in the patient from the first meeting.
Alex was excellent
Alex was excellent, with a fantastic manner. However, neither eye is fully corrected and I have now been told that I have to have 'top up' laser surgery to fix them both. NOT something I wanted to have to do again.

Review
Dr Shortt was extremely receptive, patient, and professional during my initial consultation. I hope to continue consulting with him in order to find a solution to my intolerence to contact lenses.
very good
very good, attentive, patient, empathetic, I would recommend. I also found Mr Shortt's team of nurses and optometrists very professional and pleasant
I highly recommended Mr Shortt for Lens Replacement
Mr. Alex Shortt is the surgeon I trusted to carry lens replacement surgery on both my eyes and I have no hesitation in recommending him to others seeking the same treatment. The surgery is now complete and I am now free of glasses for the first time in a number of years.
The professionalism and dedication of Mr. Shortt and all the staff I came into contact at Optegra was evident at all times, thereby putting my mind at rest about the procedure to come. This was especially important to me as I was a nervous case and needed quite a lot of reassurance. All questions about the procedure I asked of Mr Shortt were answered with honesty - with all the pros and cons fully explained. Once in possession of the facts as given by Mr. Shortt, together with my own research, I was able to come to an informed decision to go ahead with the surgery.
Part of reason why I was happy to continue with the procedure was the easy going and amiable personality of Mr Shortt himself. During the many talks we had together about the surgery he was able to put me at my ease; explaining the procedure in layman's terms that I was able to understand. During these chats he impressed me as a sincere and able man with absolute confidence in his skills as a surgeon. His clear knowledge about his subject and his continued optimism left me in no doubt that the health of my eyes were in good hands.
The surgery itself was painless and efficiently carried out without rush. During the procedure Mr Shortt explained what he was doing every step of the way with a full explanation of what I was experiencing and why. At all times I was confident I was in good hands and that all staff involved knew what they were doing.
I wish also to recommend the after surgery service that I received from Mr. Shortt and his team. The recovery period in my case was quite lengthy but Mr. Shortt and his team were on hand to advise me on both the telephone and in person, something I was very appreciative of during a period of uncertainty and worry.
In summary, if one is looking for lens replacement surgery I would look no further than Mr Shortt and his team at Optegra for what is essentially a life changing procedure. For something as important as your eyes you owe it to yourself to choose the best - and in my opinion that is Mr. Shortt.

Hello
Hello, I had lens replacement procedure carried out this month on the 23rd October, I have always disliked wearing glasses as they just did not suit me at all and added 5 years to my looks.
Alex Shortt carried out the procedure who made me very relaxed as I am terrified of anything hospitals, I felt no real discomfort and was constantly reassured during the procedure.
My results are now having 20 /20 vision as advised during my post procedure check up last Friday, I am totally over the moon with the results , thank you Alex and to all staff at Optegra [London] a brilliant service from my initial consultation to my on going aftercare.
