AVOID AT ALL COSTS
this cheap bit of plastic (dehumidifier) arrived way too late. Returned straight away with a cost of £10.39. They eventually refunded me £98 (£40) short, and have the cheek to say "it's the cost of posting out to me". I accept I'll have to pay cost of posting item to me but not £40. Replies to emails is diabolical. They need closing down!!

I have given one star because I couldn't give zero. The machine is absolutely useless and my experience is the same as all the other bad reviews. I am nowhere near getting a refund and from other reviews I'm not expecting one now. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. Surely something can be done to get their sites taken down. I'm sure good reviews are fake

As a follow up since writing g my last review I have not heard from Covatar despite numerous emails. This is the refund policy I have been sent in every email from Covatar -

There is nothing wrong with our products.
I have to explain that returning is a hassle.
Note:
1. You need to return the product to China by yourself and bear the return shipping costs;
2. After the return is successful, we need to deduct the relevant costs and 15% return shipping fee;
3. If the product is damaged during the return process, it will not be returned or exchanged.
4. The return policy stipulates that the return address must be provided by us.
Our return address is not the address on the package. We only accept returns to the address provided by us. If you return the package to an address other than the one provided by us, we cannot accept the package; all losses will be borne by the buyer.
If you want a full refund, you need to return the item and pay the shipping costs and import duties. Returning items from your location to China will cost a lot of money and time

I would advise against anyone purchasing items from this company.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
I bought this for a small room and toilet,it is very disappointing,after 24 hours ,you hardly feel any difference and when you checked on the tank reservoir,not even 20 mls water inside
Just be aware of all the bad reviews on this machine,ITS ALL TRUE!
Costumer service has been asking me to this and that to improve the function,no change!and they still haven't agreed for refund.
I have been asking for a return and refund for almost four weeks, nothing is happening.
Noisy, opposite to what they say,'19decibels'.!
This machine is a waste of time and money!
Just invest on a better dehumidifier.NOT THIS ONE!

Product arrived but is absolute rubbish. They ignore emails so there is no chance of returning it or getting a refund

Would give no stars if I could! This company is a complete scam. The dehumidifier is cheap and does not work! They also won’t give a refund so I’ve gone via the bank.

Update. They ignored me when I last emailed but I’ve now received an email now the bank have done a charge back. It’s automated and a load of rubbish.

Pretty much as everyone else says... 2names on there website covatar and description writes covata. Took ages to arrive. Basically a very cheap generic Chinese dehumidifier.. Probably about £40 on amazon. Asked them for an immediate return
and have been in contact several times but they refuse to provide a return address. And don't respond to emails anymore. Absolute scanners. Have to go through credit card to try get money back.

Ordered the item and cancelled shortly after after reading the reviews. They still dispatched the item 2 days later. I refused delivery and returned the item to the returns address listed on the package at my expense and I am now being harassed saying that the returns address is wrong and it's my responsibility to pay for the item. My bank thankfully returned the payment.

Awful product they mention no fuss 30 day money back guarantee - awful customer service. I will be contacting my credit card company to try and get my money back as they have stopped communicating with me now. Just glad I have all the email trail. £138 down the drain otherwise.

Absolute scam. Useless piece of equipment that does pretty much nothing.

Purchased after reading an obviously sponsored review and now after three months it sounds like a jet engine when it is running, also cuts on and off on it's own accord.
Have contacted Jacob, I am guessing he is Chinese and has taken up a western name.
Have emailed and Jacob requested an mp4 video of my issue which he is now in receipt of but I have had no response. Have asked for a phone number so I can talk to him but again, no response.
Think I am now stuck with a useless piece of junk that has cost me £138.00

Well sadly I didn't come to trust pilot before my purchase. Wasted £138 on this after reading reviews from what I assume is a dummy review website that Covatar set up (when something seems too good to be true it is!).

Unit doesn't seem to do much, had it on all day multiple times in the kitchen which has damp issues and a tiny bit of water collects.

Buy a reputable brand from a physical shop or somewhere like amazon where you can return it if needed (have to send to China to return this it seems and even then I would be surprised if I got any money back)

Heed the warnings of this and other reviews.

AVOID.

Bought couple months back, under different name. Chinese crap, poor dehumidification, took forever to arrive. Fake reviews on Internet. Dreadful. Failed after 2 months, absolute garbage. Save yourself and buy well respected brand

Avoid do not order , I was told by my bank it’s a scam .
No communication at all and you can only email on there site which can’t be kept to prove you sent them .
It arrived , which was refused as it sounded well broken inside the box .

Why didn't I read reviews. This is the worst sales experience I have ever had. Paid the £138, product arrived, not fully functional. Company will insist there is no problem, numerous emails asking for refund as per their website if not satisfied. Refund option is always avoided, did get offered 3% compensation 😂😂, constant stalling. AVOID thus company at all costs, you will not get anywhere. Absolute SCAM. Reported to banking services and now trading standards to try and recover costs.

Like many others, this is a scam company! Purchased having read review on Covatar site. Wanted a small dehumidifier for static van.

Product certainly neat an small. Feels cheap and plasticy.

Could have lived with that but IT DOES NOT WORK!
Jacob at Covatar takes 3 days to reply to emails. On trying to get a full refund you go through a repeating stall procedure getting nowhere.

Can find a returns address for logistic company but not for Covatar.

I like others am trying to recover this debt through Credit card company.

How there are any good reviews is beyond me, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

You live and learn - I also should have read the reviews on here before ordering one of their 'dehumidifiers'.

I can breath with more substance than this cheap bit of tat from China, and I'm asthmatic.

When you try to return it - as many others have alluded to - you are then informed it would have to go back to China with postage at your expense AND further charges of 'relevant tariffs' (whatever they are) and a 15% return fee.

On the plus side, I was offered a refund of just 3% and would then be allowed to keep it (not sure what for - absolutely useless piece of kit). That's a refund of £4.14 they have offered on a product I do not want and that has cost £138!!

Have now instigated a Section 75 on my credit card to hopefully receive a refund through them.

** AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE **

I’d give this scam zero stars if I could and as others have said you are NOT buying what is advertised on their website, the “dehumidifier” is useless and not worth even a single penny.

Your buying from a UK website and therefore covered by UK a law but this company do not respond to emails exercising the right to return under the Distance Selling Regulations.

From reading other reviews and I wish I’d read them before falling for this as I most definitely would NOT have ordered when they do reply (and for most they don’t) they tell you that you have to return it to China!

I’ve started a claim to get my money back through my credit card company. For anyone else who has fallen foul of them and not sure how to get your money back please read the Distance Selling Regulations to know your rights and Money Saving Expert’s (Martin Lewis’s website) website covering chargeback for debit card and Section 75 for credit cards.
