So disappointing - leaves a bad impression from a wonderful country

So disappointing. Turkey is a wonderful place to visit...outside of this airport.

This is the 3rd time we've used it and it's the same every time.

The staff are rude and slow, and communication is horrendous.

However the thing that really gripes me is the ridiculous prices for items within the airport, £20 for a big mac meal is so poor. Limited free WiFi. And no free water, especially when flights are delayed is just a basic human requirement.

Very very expensive airport to wait in

Very very expensive airport to wait in. Example: a 500ml bottle of still water costing more than 6 euros !!!!!!!! How can they justify this? The "free water" tap to fill our own bottles didn't work and, when I asked a member of staff about this, he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Also, the seats are very uncomfortable wooden slats, which become uncomfortable after only a few minutes. This isn't nice as, surprise surprise, people have to often WAIT a long time in the departures area. There are comfortable seats available in the expensive cafes and restaurants around, but you have to pay their extortionate prices to sit on. There were only four women's toilets available and these were very busy with a very long queue. Not a very good end to our holiday.

Frustrating Experience at Dalaman Airport – Would Not Recommend

I will avoid using Dalaman Airport in the future unless absolutely necessary - and if I do, I’ll make sure not to spend a single euro or pound there.
The check-in experience was unpleasant. Staff were rude and claimed the flight was full, suggesting I check my cabin bag into the hold despite holding a priority pass. Once onboard, I noticed plenty of empty seats, which made the earlier claim questionable.
Additionally, the staff were aggressively monitoring luggage weight, seemingly trying to catch passengers out unnecessarily. Be prepared for three separate security checks - you’re not truly cleared until you’re on the plane, which adds to the stress and inconvenience.
The airport’s amenities are also disappointing. Free Wi-Fi is limited to just 30 minutes, and to access another 30 minutes, you must spend a minimum of EUR 25.
Food and drink prices are exorbitant. At the All Sports Bar, I ordered a steak sandwich for EUR 12.50 and a glass of rosé for EUR 9. However, the waitress discreetly served a mini bottle (150–200ml) instead of a glass, which was later charged at EUR 19. After a lengthy discussion with the staff and manager, I received a EUR 5 discount, but still ended up paying EUR 40 in total.
This experience left me wondering if there’s any airport more expensive or less accommodating than Dalaman. I would not recommend spending time or money here.

The absolute worst airport I've ever…

The absolute worst airport I've ever been in, my bf got a £55 charge for a small carry on case even though it was included in the price, staff about as helpful as a chocolate tea pot, the prices on duty free are basically normal prices in the uk soccer point on buying anything, we were sat at our gate waiting for the plane they changed our gate and never announced it so just by chance I looked at the board and noticed the change so me and 3 travel partners 1 who's severely limited on her movements had to mad dash to the opposite end of the airport then the delay on the plane my god the toilets were vulgar, honestly if you see your flight is out or in to Dalaman literally see if you can change to Antalya save yourselves a whole lot of trouble

Disgusting behaviour from turkey !!

Disgusting behaviour from turkey !!!
Guy at xray security must think he's a cut above god which his pathetic excuses !
Was told and on reciept I could carry a bottle of spirit ( which was sealed up in bag and reciept i brought from birmingham airport!
It states in " hold bag " not my suitcase which I did !
They confiscated this ! Called in jet2 rep, she said as it was in my bag , and not a " bagpack " whats the bloody difference in my eyes? I couldn't take it through !!! As I had 100% proof where I brought it !
As for there behaviour to a first time solo traveller / plus im disabled they made me look a fool infront of everyone , and thought it was amusing ! Obviously in reality they got the hump it wasn't brought at there airport " which i had to buy again "!!! So £35 pound out of pocket !!
Dalaman airport is the worst place I've ever travelled through, and there behaviour against your race does exist with them !!
Will never return to turkey again !!
Many people are sick of your attitude !!!
I will put a massive complaint in about this !
As for guy , who took my sealed up bottle!! May karma come , you pathetic excuse if a man

Spent 8 days in Fethiye Oludeniz at the Ramada
Hotel. I had a transfer for 21:30 with my family to get to Dalaman airport.
Unfortunately my suitcase was left in the lobby of the hotel and was only noticed once me & my family were at the airport. Info desk at Dalaman airport staff made many phone calls to the transfer & hotel where I learnt it was still in the reception.
Airport Manager Añil Akbulut dealt with my case many phone calls to easy jet management also arranging a new transfer to collect my case & deliver to the airport so I would make my flight. Everything was handled professionally and smooth, I was no longer stressed. Amazing customer service especially as I work in events and hospitality in the UK.
Thank you so much & to all the Dalaman airport staff.

The worst airport EVER

The worst airport EVER
Rude obnoxious nasty staff three security checks the third was ridiculous everything dragged out your bag the same bag that had been through security TWICE before
swabs taken they seemed disappointed when they found Nothing told to get my belongings which had been scattered over the table and go
Extortionate Ridiculous prices £26 Pounds for FIVE small bottles of water daylight robbery
Our flight home to Glasgow was supposed to leave at 1 o’clock Monday 15th September we eventually left at 9 pm ( an hour later than it was supposed to leave ) on Tuesday night 16th September from gate 37 standing in a small “secure” area my eight year old grandson needed the toilet I approached the girl at the desk and told her I needed to take him to the loo which was across from the desk was told NO and we couldn’t leave explained he was an EIGHT year old child and she was denying him a basic human right
She wasn’t interested eventually we had to let him pee into an empty water bottle while trying to shield him from the other passengers because he was so embarrassed yet the girl at the desk and her male colleague stood there smirking
Made a point of saying to her Told you he needed the toilet ! In hindsight we should have dumped the bottle of urine on her desk as according to her we couldn’t leave the area ! The experience at Dalaman airport has put me and my family off EVER visiting Turkey again
If anyone connected with this airport reads this then
Take note you don’t bite the hand that feeds you
In other words no passengers equals NO jobs !!!!
If I could have given zero stars I would have

Nationality-based discrimination

If you or anyone in your group is from a non-western nationality, prepare to be initially refused check-in with no explanation. Staff openly admit to nationality-based discrimination. If you mention international law to them, they get defensive and aggressive. Advice to management would be to inform your staff about the existence of United Nations human rights conventions.

Avoid like the plague!!!!

Dalaman Airport – One of the Worst Airports I’ve Ever Used

Absolutely awful airport. Security is a complete joke — you’re forced through three separate checks where the staff barely even bother to search properly. The pat downs are so half-hearted you could easily carry anything through, which makes the whole process pointless and frustrating.

The toilets are disgusting, dirty, and clearly not cleaned often enough. The food options are laughable: very limited and insanely overpriced, charging double or triple what you’d expect anywhere else.

To top it all off, the staff are rude and unhelpful. I asked for a simple hand check for photographic film (standard at most airports), and they flat out refused, forcing it through the x-ray scanner and risking damage. Zero flexibility, zero customer care.

This airport is a disgrace — filthy, expensive, and unsafe. If you can avoid flying through Dalaman, do yourself a favor and do it.

DON’T BUY ANYTHING FROM UNIFREE DALAMAN AIRPORT, ESPECIALLY PERFUME

THE MAIN PERFUME SHOP (“Unifree”) IS A TOTAL AND UTTER RIP-OFF. Don’t buy any perfumes from there. The Perfume Sales Lady saw that we were in a rush looking for a specific perfume, and brought a bottle claiming it costs €260 but we’d get it €130 on Sale as it was the “last one”. Too rushed to double check while there, but when we got settled I saw that the same Perfume cost €60. Quite shameless, and a distasteful way to end a brilliant holiday with very hospitable Turkish people. DO NOT BUY ANY PERFUME from UNIFREE DALAMAN AIRPORT. Absolute robbery. In fact, I suggest never buying anything from Unifree Dalaman at all. Everything looked crazy expensive

Do not bring cigarettes through Dalaman, are charging customs duty for 4 suitcases, 300 stacks of cigarettes, 75,000 Turkish liras customs fee and then they call London to say they will take them from you.
