requests passport scans , possible ID fraud scam scheme, avoid at all costs

Im very dissapointed with sms I received today from DHL requiring me to send Passport for Denied Parties screening nonsense . What next visa with pin numbers and access to bank accounts ?

I got few emails updates that item will be delivered on Friday , now its on hold, its unreal. I will tell the seller to not use DHL anymore as its really creating such a delays and problems and asking for private information which can be used for my identity theft.

I used to receive many things using DHL and never ever asked for passport , only at receiving point. I think its a new scam and ID fraud via DHL and I'm going to to forward this to DHL complaint department and Seller so he will get informed about this.

This is real nonsense with your Trade Compliance team workflow. Seems if somebody order toothbrush you will need passport copy , bank statement , address proof , finger prints and DNA samples as well.

Well , its very, useless business model, I'm going to avoid using DHL services in future , as its total waste of time for me. Its unreal, those ridiculous requests just for speaker part (which is just magnet and few wires, not drugs or even weapons). I will advice everyone around to avoid DHL in the future.

This disgraceful company is acting against data protection act and all EU identity / privacy laws.

They never tried to deliver

They never tried to deliver, they just sent me a notification to go to a collection point 30km away from the delivery address and of course, they only provide the payed phone number as means of contacting them.
I will pass this issue to the merchant as I refuse to have anything to do with them.

Disgusting service again!!!!

Disgusting service again. First time it was stolen by the DHL driver, second shipping was left with the neihgbour instead of the indicated Drop off collection point . DHL driver takes his own decision what to do with the delivery!! The instruction regarding the delivery completely useless for him.
Is DHL a highly unprofessional delivery service?
I think so! I'm trying to avoid it but unfortunately it is not always possible.

Tried using the courier service

Tried using the courier service, the courier did not arrive, tried to explain this on the online chat, they told me they cannot ring a UK number and that they only allow 2 hour time slots. Asked me to ring their customer service number, when i explained that this number did not work the operator ended the conversation...

Terrible service and I don't know why companies continue to use them. There are plenty of better delivery companies out there for a reasonable price!!!

If I could give ZERO stars

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Spent over 200€ on an order from Selfridges, UK for a special birthday present for my husband. Delivery in France expected by 18h00 last Monday (along with another parcel from another company, also sent via DHL). At 6pm Monday, no sign of DHL, and when I phoned to ask where my parcel was, I was told I had authorised the driver to deliver Tuesday instead - which I certainly hadn't - I had waited at home all day for the delivery on Monday! On Tuesday, the driver delivered just one parcel and when I asked him where the other (high-value Selfridges order) parcel was and why he hadn't delivered as scheduled on the Monday, he just replied, "I don't know" and he couldn't run away fast enough - very dodgy! Lo and behold, after a week of chasing up the parcel, Selfridges have now confirmed that DHL have lost it - how convenient, a parcel full of luxury food goods! Their delivery is a very bad joke - the driver was rude, impatient, lost a parcel, drove a battered old van with a battered cracked machine to sign for delivery. So utterly unprofessional and dishonest. I now try to avoid ordering from the UK if they only offer delivery to France by DHL - very disappointed as the DHL deliveries in Normandy were always exceptional, by a polite, uniformed driver - we just have the lowest of the low here in Brittany!

DHL have to be the worst ever delivery…

DHL have to be the worst ever delivery company to have existed. I'm with the other comments, how on earth can such a company exist today in 2018 offering a service that we knew in the 1870's!
Delivery Monday to Friday between 9h and 18h, is this a joke? When do most people work... well between these hours! OK so, let's take the day off work to wait for this parcel... hang on a minute, it's 19h and still no parcel.. this joke gets better.
So let's organise for the parcel to be left somewhere that it can be collected... It's in a depot somewhere in the middle of nowhere and guess what, the collection hours are Monday to Friday 9h to 18h.
Such a FRUSTRATING, AWFUL, STRESSFUL company, I highly advise people NOT to use them.

Very poor service

Very poor service. Won’t deliver unless you have a French number. They refuse to call British mobile numbers even if you have it in France. Very parochial. I have had larger parcels delivered to me in India and the French service is truly awful compared to the delivery services in India. The delivery service in India was extremely good and efficient.

Don’t trust the DHL brand if delivering to France!! Waste of time and I’m told my delivery will simply be disposed of.

Fiasco getting worse

Still waiting for a battery to be delivered to me in France by DHL France. Ordered from Euro Car Parts who are also guilty of gross incompetence and passing the blame.
I have now had the infuriating experience of being told by DHL that I have given them the wrong post code and the delivery driver can't find me!
Absolute nonsense. I have phoned and confirmed and DHL has accepted they have the correct information but that clearly their driver is at fault.
DHL is now telling me I will have to wait in for another day to have it delivered. Three days waiting for a battery which I ordered over three weeks ago - the first was damaged in transit by DHL, the second is floating around France somewhere.
All I get on contacting these companies is "we are so sorry".
Customer service is dead.

Unacceptable service

Unacceptable service. I purchased some items online, which shipped with DHL 10 days ago. On Monday, I am notified that my parcel will be delivered on Tuesday. After waiting all day for the delivery, I check online and see that delivery was attempted but, apparently, I was not home. I check my mail box and there is no notice on their behalf.
After chasing them down, I am assured my parcel is going to be delivered the following day, then again the day after that.
Finally, this morning, my parcel shows as delivered, even though I have not received it.
After calling costumer service, they claim the parcel was damaged and thus could not be delivered... I asked them to deliver it anyway, but they refused. Unfortunately, I was notified by the seller that in order to get refunded for the damaged objects, I need to receive my parcel and send them pictures of the damaged objects. So now, thanks to DHL, I have lost my purchase and my money.

DHL just the worst I have ever experienced !

i have a small business in France but purchase much of my materials in England therefor i rely on good delivery companies who fulfill their obligations .
My latest experience of DHL leaves me to wonder how this company is still operating , not only did they fail to deliver a very expensive delivery of plating chemicals to me but then embarked on a fantasy ,first off they said they had tried to deliver ,security footage proves this to be incorrect, they then said i requested to collect it myself the collection point 90km distance !!!!.
After 3 appointments set by DHL for delivery which they never arrived they then said they lost my parcel . No help at all from customer support , if you have a business beware DHL has little care and a lot of contempt for your business. The delivery was returned to the UK.

This company has to be the worst on the…

This company has to be the worst on the planet. I wish there was a minus star. Truly awful experience....and getting worse.
I made an overseas purchase for a low value item. DHL wrote demanding tax and fees (fees for paying the tax on my behalf) of 28 euros (more than half the paid price of the package). DHL called to say the package would be delivered the next day. We waited in, no-one came! It arrived two weeks later!!! . The courier demanded payment of the taxes before he would leave the parcel. Refusing a bank card he asked for cash. He said he had no change so we paid the correct amount. I asked for a receipt, he said delivery of the parcel should be considered receipt. I signed his electronic pad and thought no more of it. Now after receiving demands for payment by DHL they have instructed a debt collector.
READ very carefully friends. NEVER USE DHL. Their service is less than useless and they seem to have all manner of ways of extorting extra cash from their customers. Do not use them, or do so at your peril. You have been warned.

I'm only giving it a 1 as I can't see a…

I'm only giving it a 1 as I can't see a zero option. Constant lies to where my delivery is and attempts. Tracking doesn't reflect these lies. Still waiting day three for delivery on next day priority. Last month a builder working temp for them delivered an item to me so they're lies are obviously due to lack of couriers. Told when challenging lies again if I wanted parcel to drive 234 mile round trip to them and collect it myself. When refused and i said collect from their designated local service hub 22miles away they said tried to deliver there but shop shut. Tracking says as did first agent I spoke to never left their depot as DHL noted wrong number down.
If you like wasting days sitting in, driving around chasing your tail and disproving their lies then this is the company to go for.
Absolutely horrific service all round

DHL lost a passport and cost us thousands of euros in damages and are simply ignoring us!

I've never come across such a poorly managed company. My family has had the worst experience with DHL France - please avoid at all costs!!

My sister applied for a visa in Paris and was expecting her passport back in Lyon on early December. After a week of being delayed, DHL lost track of it and was never able to explain where it was. Despite us calling every single day trying to understand where her passport was or who was responsible for the damages, they kept ignoring us and telling us they were going to call us back but never did. We were forced to go to Paris to get her a new passport along with all the visas she had in there costing us an enormous sum of money.

3 weeks later she receives the most unprofessional email from customer services saying they have found a package in Paris that she needs to collect. It took them another week to confirm it was the old passport which we already had to declare lost in the police so wasn't valid anymore. All the waiting for her new documentation almost made her an illegal student in France! and customer service were completely useless and indifferent.

We have escalated this to the Customer Service Director, Xavier Cornilleau, and claimed back all the expenses this issue has caused us and they simply replied they were not taking any responsibility. We of course came back explained in extreme detail all set of events and referred back to article 6 from the contract agreement which stipulates DHL was indeed the entity responsible for the package, and sent this replied to the CEO and it's been 10 they've just been ignoring us.

The amount of emotional and financial stress this has caused all my family is been disgraceful. We are now forced to contact all social platforms and demand a response and full refund.

Don't even think of using DHL France. Nightmare!!

I am shocked by the total and utter incompetence of the DHL French office. The order was placed in Germany for a pick up in France on 4 August 2017, to be delivered in Germany the following 1-2 days. The order document was transferred to DHL France on the same day, according to your website. On 7 August 2017, I called DHL France to see if the package would be picked up. The person on the phone told me over 10 min that she could not deal with my case since the order was placed in France. I convinced her it was possible from past experience. After more than 10 mim, she finally agreed and found my case immediately, of course. She then spent another 10 min to tell me that she could not intervene or make changes to it, since the dispatch has been programed from Germany. I reassured her that I did not want any changes and she would not have any extra work to do, I just wanted to know the pick up date. She confirmed that it was programed to be on 7 August from 9 am to 4 pm, again emphasising that she could not make changes.....
On 7 August, the same day, at 3pm, I received a call from another person from DHL France to say that she wanted to arrange a pick up for the package for 8 August. I told her that I was informed of the pick up for 7 August that morning and I have been waiting for many hours for the pick up already. She said there was no such thing in the system and there was no record of any conversation, nor program for the pick up that day. If I was not happy, I could just deliver the package myself to the DHL office in Nice.
After much deliberation, she confirmed that the pick up would be on 8 August from 12 pm to 4 pm. Another day of loss at work for me.
On 8 August at 3 pm, I called DHL France again and asked if the pick up would take place. They could not provide any answer and just said that DHL in Nice would not answer their call or e-mail. In any case, there is nothing they could do if the office in Nice does not reply. They would try something else the day after, on 9 August. Another loss half day at work for me. The person said again that DHL France does not deal with orders placed in Germany, they only deal with clients with an account in France. But I thought DHL was an international company that deals with international dispatches!!! I am still waiting for news on what is happening! If I had not already paid for the job, I would have changed carrier immediately.

For another pick up the week before, again same address in France, the pick up driver came without any trolley for the heavy packet. He said he did not read the measurements nor the weight on the airway bill and so came unprepared. I had to wait the following day for another pick up. Another day of loss at work.

Why is it so incredibly difficult for DHL France to function normally? The right hand does not talk to the left hand even in France alone.

I have such good experience with DHL Germany that it is unbelievable that an international company has such wide fluctuations in standards.
