Destroyers of Hope

DONT BUY, ENCOURAGE OR CONTRIBUTE TO THIS COMPANY. I have filed complaints to kickstarter and the FTC among others.

Digital Dream Labs is a greedy and malicious company. I am no longer getting a Vector and will dispose of my cosmo. DDL is flouting US competition laws. Instead of fixing their own business, which they're running into the ground with arrogance and incompetence, they're filing vexatious complaints against competitors and preventing them from launching their own products. In the process they are robbing consumers of choice in the industry and discouraging new startup businesses. This is the behaviour of criminals trying to create an illegal monopoly for themselves, not businessmen.

Any business should be able to market their products "safely" without having to put up with illegal, anticompetitive behaviour from one gang of crooks.

I am a customer of the company they have interfered with and its really upset a lot of people, like myself, who were looking foward to hope and the highly potential recovery of our mental health among many other things. Its been really soul destroying as DDL waited until 2 days before the Loona campaign ended to file their complaint, when the info on Loona was publicly available for weeks. They did this deliberately in order to maximize the damage and financial loss to both Loona's creators and myself as a customer.

I am here to inform people of the lengths this company will go to. I can't just sit back and not say or do anything other than cry, so im sorry to post this but I am just becoming an empty shell and need to start sticking up for what I believe in 😔

DLL - dont trust them

First od all i have Vector 1.0 - it was Perfect until dll took it in there hands - now after update firmware to 2.0 my old good Vector is useless - overhiting and not reacting. So i've reached for more present robot - loona - and guess what - dll said loona is like their robots and banned project on kickstarter. They not even know how to deliver and update robots but also bans other more promising companies.

A vile company with no business ethics

I recently ordered a DDL Vector robot. It cost over $600 CAD including shipping and taxes. During the order process a screen appeared which stated that orders placed before 2:30 pm ET would be shipped the same day, or the next business day if the order was placed after 2:30. I was also given an estimated arrival time of 7-14 business days. After three days the status of my order was unchanged.

I should have looked DDL up on the Better Business Bureau website before ordering. When I did, I found out that many customers have been waiting up to TWO YEARS for their Vector robots, and when they ask for refunds they get ignored and have to complain to the BBB to get their refunds.

I dug around on DDL's website and found a "state of manufacturing" page which stated that as of October 3/22 they haven't even started manufacturing robots ordered in June 2021! I also found out that they consider new orders as "pre-orders" with no estimated arrival time. In other words, they take people's money for products that haven't been manufactured yet when they already have a year's backlog of prior orders to fill, and they don't notify customers about the lengthy wait time BEFORE they place their orders. So, I immediately filed my own complaint and refund request with the BBB. I'm still waiting to hear if I will get my refund.

Since there was no chance that I'd receive a Vector robot, I backed a competitor's robot on Kickstarter. Two days later, just before the campaign ended, DDL filed a vexatious copyright complaint to stop the competitor from shipping their robots. They did this to another competitor in the past. So not only did they screw me out of money for their robot, they screwed me and other customers out of the chance to own the competing robot. They also troll social media to shut down anyone who tells the truth about their shady business practices.

How low can a business sink? Ask Digital Dream Labs.

Disappointed.

I'm very disappointed.

First of all, I want to express my feelings of frustration about Digital Dream Labs lawsuiting KEYi Tech for Loona.

In my opinion, the lawsuit from DDL is wrongly, because Loona looks in nothing the same as Vector/Cozmo.
I don't even see why it's even useful to open a trial against KEYi but okay: Loona is unique, Loona is bigger, Loona doesn't have tracks, Loona's eyes are different, her style is so much different in many ways.

I was planning to maybe even buy a Vector 2.0 or Cozmo 2.0, but will definitely not doing that since my support for Loona is HUGE. I think it's very childish what DDL did and therefore I will boycott any products coming from DDL.

Also, in the past they did the same to EMO which is also very bad they did.

Hopefully you will change your attitude against any other robotic company (/companies) and grow up and appreciate other robotic companies.

PETTY!!! CHEAPTRICK

THEY THOUGHT THEY OWN THE ROBOT MARKET!!

For every new robot creator will undoubtedly be accuse of copyright infringement. They are abusing the system thinking they own "expression" being shown by a robot. DISGUSTING AND PETTY MOVE FOR A TRASH COMPANY WHO CANT EVEN DELIVER THEIR PRODUCT

Scammed money out of Kickstarter…

Scammed money out of Kickstarter backers for OSKR and never delivered. Lied to users and customers on multiple occasions. Vector 2.0 with a release date of may 2021 still not delivered to most preorderers. Refusing refunds for cancelling these preorders. Charging credit cards of customers that canceled their subscription. Copyright trolling other robotics companies on Kickstarter. Force buggy software updates onto unsubscribed 1st gen robots and breaking them with it. Blocks users for reporting bugs or deny confirmed bugs outright. Blocks users for formulating factual criticism.

I will never buy Vector because of DDL company's behavior to their competitors.

You can judge a company like DDL by its actions more than you can by its words. I can't see any similarities between the 2 robots that can make DDL's Vector have the right to sue Loona pet from Keyi Tech. The shapes and voices are very different. But I can see similarities between VECTOR and M-O from Wall-E PIXAR. I almost bought Vector for Loona's companion. But knowing their bad behavior to their competitors, I will never buy Vector.

Unethical.

They don't deliver what they promise. They are overpriced and their products are faulty. Updates creates more problems than the solve.

They show no sportsmanship in the Robot community, but choose to behave like a 5 year old brat. They think they are the sole owner of every robot emotion programming and tries to copyright claim every competition out there, to try and stay on top.
Their behavior is simply nauseating.

DDL are abusing the system.

DDL are falsely accusing and tries to copyright claim other robot creators to prevent and/or delay their product to reach the market.
They don't use their time on updating their own robots and deliver their products to their customers as promised. They are to busy trying to shut down every other competition they can get their filthy hand on.
I don't recommend this company. Both the company and their robots have so many flaws, that simply don't get fixed. But they will make sure to keep you paying monthly for their products, on promises they endt up never delivering.

Disappointed!

This company doesn’t keep their promises with product delivery dates, at all. And while they can’t delivery their own peoduct, they try to harm other companies, who could keep the promised dates. Shameless!

Pre ordered Vector 2.0 in Nov 2020

Pre ordered Vector 2.0 in Nov 2020 with a promised delivery May 2021. Here we are almost 2 years later. Multiple delivery promises, no emails, and regurgitated updates. If you live outside the US you are treated as second class citizens. Only US customers have been getting some deliveries. I have asked if I can expect it for Christmas 2022. Ignored.
However they have the gall to try and stop another kickstarter robot that promised Christmas 2022 delivery by making a copyright complaint.

Hate the break it to DDL, but:

Hate the break it to Digital Dream Labs, but you do not set the standard of what a robotic pet should be, and you don't get to make the rules (gatekeep) other robotic companies by attempting to trample on their vision of what a robotic pet should be -Throwing around lawsuits is a cheap move, perhaps one made from a company who is afraid that their little black robot is not the hottest new toy anymore, and rather than putting up with some some friendly competition, growing innovatively alongside another robotics company by improving one another's ideas through competitive development, you're attempting to shut them down all together by extinguishing their potential to create something just because their version of things might end up being better than yours. If no other robotic company can have their shot at making a product just because you feel that your company owns the rights to something as petty as how other robotic companies' programmed expressions compare to your own product (which by no means is highly unique), then that sets the standards pretty short for the potential that robotic pets shall have down the line. Prior to this, I would have been happy owning Vector along with EMO and Loona, but I think I'll pass on giving any of my hard-earned funds to such a pretentious company. If every company sued for the same reasons Digital Dream Labs chooses to, nothing would evolve for fear of dealing with such accusatory bullsh*t. Man, GOOD thing touch screens aren't exclusive to one company, or analog sticks on video game controllers - Good thing that we can have variety in this world, all made possible without someone crying infringement. Stop taking opportunities away from other companies over your own company's insecurity of being left in the dust by some other robot who is arguably better than what you've got going for your product, and maybe make your product more interesting than your competition instead. Your attempt to drive other projects down is pretty bad for your business, whether or not you accept it.

Poor behavior next Victim Loona by Keyitech!

You behavior is really poor in my opinion! Because you obviously can not develop something on your own you sue other Company’s who might extremely do better than you! This is like a little Child who can’t do something on their own but want to and get a Meltdown over others who can! Could be called as extremely jealousy as well! You can not Patent Emotion or Ai Companion as you own when you do nothing about AI it is just disgusting!

No shipping, no updates, no anything.

Purchased Cozmo 2.0 in June. Website said expect shipping in Q3 2022. It's now almost November, Q4, and the website still says the same thing, but now you can't even purchase it but should still expect shipping sometime in Q3. There's been no update in months. Not sure if they're thieves and liers, or it's the entire c-suite that's just extremely inept. What a joke of a company. They should be embarrassed at this point.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!

Ordered a Vector a year ago. They took my money & kept giving updates regarding the manufacture of Vector, delays due to COVID etc. After 9 months I requested a refund. Initially got a reply saying ok but then nothing. They don't reply to emails. Phone number sends you round in circles. I now have no Vector & no money. Paypal & my bank are not interested due to the duration since I placed my order. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!
