Direction Law excellent solicitors for property purchases
Direction Law made the process an easy one for me. They talk me through all of the various stages so I knew what was expected. They also ensured I was able to decide my completion date that suited me

Good price, okay service
They did the job at a decent price but the whole process wasn't very clear. I kept feeling like I had to push the whole thing along by asking what's next. I also couldn't get through by phone a lot of the time to my designated person(s).

First Time buyer
Rebecca and her team were professional and quick to respond to any queries I had. They made the process of conveyancing simple which was really appreciated for a first-time buyer like myself who was a little overwhelmed by the process.

Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs! I experienced unnecessary and costly delays due to the firm's negligence in saying that the are still waiting for documents when that's not the case. Hannah worked on my case -absolutely no customer care, no oversight from the solicitor and not giving a damn about their customers' circumstances. Save yourself time and money and use a decent conveyancer. That's my 2 cents.

Thank You to All Concerned
Very friendly and efficient, and kept me informed throughout all the processes. Buying a house is a very stressful time so getting the help and advice needed does make all the difference.
All at a very competitive price.

Direction Law were superb!
Direction Law were superb, we were first time buyers and they explained each step along the way which really settled our nerves. They do most of the work behind the scenes and email to let you know what forms you need to get back. Communication from Afia and Amina was brilliant, and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend Direction Law if you’re thinking of buying a house!

The process was meant to be exciting…
The process was meant to be exciting yet made very stressful by direction law. The communication or lack of is one of the biggest issues, with emails going unanswered for many weeks. I recall sending across my documentation an being told it was all fine only to receive an email from someone who wasn't my solicitor to say a couple of documents needed resending. The document which I resent was then lost even though it was signed by a member of the office. Another issue I have is when I was given my completion date and my solicitor did not respond to my emails for days leading up to it. The day of my completion I still hadn't heard anything by 12 noon so I contacted the reception office to find out what was going on. I was then contacted by another solicitor saying they were in the process of completing an blamed the delay on the other side. It was quite clear my solicitor had gone awol without informing anyone an leaving my case to be worked last minute. I received no apology only 3 worded emails with no professionalism whatsoever. AVOID THIS SOLICITORS.

Stressful, definitely not the right solicitors for first time buyers.
I have decided to give Direction Law a one-star rating. In the last few days, they managed to exchange and complete the transaction quickly. However, the overall experience leading up to this was extremely stressful and unsatisfactory. Therefore, I believe that one star is a fair rating. I don't typically leave reviews, but I wanted to share my honest opinion in the hope of helping other first-time buyers.
Direction Law were recommended to us. Initially, they took a deposit, but I didn't have any contact with a human being for about two weeks. As a first-time buyer unfamiliar with the process, I preferred speaking to someone over the phone instead of relying solely on emails, especially considering the substantial amount we were paying for their services. I believe a courtesy call to introduce themselves and explain the process, including which team member handles specific aspects (e.g., Katie for Compliance documents), should be standard practice.
My main concern centers around the lack of communication and the difficulty in reaching anyone at Direction Law. Ten days before our scheduled completion date, I was informed that I needed to provide additional bank statements to track gifted money. Katie Bridgeman was handling this matter and mentioned that failing to provide the documents would necessitate starting a new mortgage application. Being a first-time buyer, this news was incredibly stressful. I promptly provided the requested documents the next day but received no confirmation of their receipt. I called their office seven times that Thursday, but there was no response. It wasn't until the following Monday that a colleague informed me that they had received the documents and everything was in order. Subsequently, my case was transferred to Hannah Rofidal, who informed me that there were five outstanding documents that hadn't been signed on my online portal. This was the first I had heard of the online portal and had not received any login information. At this point, it was only four days before our proposed completion date. I printed, signed, and hand-delivered the documents to their office. After returning home, I emailed Hannah Rofidal for confirmation but received an automated response stating that she was on annual leave until September 5th. While that was understandable, it would have been considerate to inform me and assign someone else to my case. With only 72 hours left before the proposed completion date, I had to contact their office again to inquire about the new case handler. Another lady informed me that I needed to provide my birth certificate because not all my middle names were on my passport, even though they were. I sent my passport again, emphasizing the top part, and was told, 'Oh yes, that's fine, I will update the case.'
The only individual I found efficient and helpful was Oliver, who appears to handle finance and transactions and was the only one available on his direct line. So, please express my thank you.
Fortunately, we were able to exchange and complete as planned. However, this was an extremely stressful experience, and it felt like Direction Law did not understand the challenges faced by first-time buyers. Their communication and overall competence were severely lacking. I wish we had conducted more research before choosing a recommended provider.
