Direction Law is a firm proudly built on relationships. With staff of around 180, offices in London, South East, South West & the Midlands and 45 years of experience, we are one of the most established and largest specialist affordable housing solicitors in the country. In 2020 and 2021 we were awarded Highly Commended in the First Time Buyer Reader’s Awards in the Best Law Firm for Conveyancing category. We are a friendly, professional firm and we pride ourselves on communicating with our clients, clearly and concisely. While other firms may have conveyancers who deal with a variety of affordable housing cases, we have taken it one stage further and have individual dedicated teams specialising in either new build shared ownership, resale sales and purchases, or new build/Help to Buy respectively: thus, ensuring greater expertise. Our goal is to progress cases to exchange and completion as swiftly as possible, resulting in a satisfied client who has achieved their dream of home ownership with the minimum of fuss. Professional and competent service
We had a great experience with Direction Law, very professional and thorough. They saw us through to the end of buying our first home! Highly recommend. Alia was excellent in keeping in touch and available whenever needed.

Amina was very helpful and honest
Amina was very helpful and honest. I feel that she actually cared and went out of her way to help me, however there was quite a large mistake. The funds that I was asked to send over was incorrect. I was overcharged by nearly £1000. If I hadn't noticed this I may have paid it. The issue was fixed as I did the calculations and realised they were incorrect.

Quick and efficient
Managed to turn the conveyancing process around in a tight time frame. Sometimes had to email a few times to get a response but ultimately they got everything done ahead of schedule!

Highly recommend it!
I used this firm when I decided to purchase our home. My solicitor knew exactly what it needed to be done and that made me feel safe. On some occasions, Afia went above her role to make sure that everything will reach sellers standards and meet the deadlines.
I am very satisfied and grateful to them.

Don’t recommend at all
Don’t recommend at all. So much miscommunication and made things confusing too many people involved in my case so I had no idea who I was sending what too, my documents were sent to my neighbour instead of me and the worst part; I decided to put extra money down on my mortgage as I got a bonus from my help to buy isa at this point (they had only asked for me to to transfer my deposit not the fees) when it came to paying my fees I owed £5 I was so confused They took their own fees out of my deposit money!!!!!! 😡 The only positive was that they were quick at processing everything ready for closure but I won’t use again and won’t ever recommend

DO NOT GO THROUGH DIRECTION LAW
DO NOT GO THROUGH DIRECTION LAW. They messed up our billing when moving multiple times. We were the ones who needed to check all charges were added on correctly. At one point they were going to charge us £65,000 -when we were going through Help to Buy?! Our real figure should have been around £2000. When we noticed we were being charged again for a third party company called ‘WeMove’ they advised we should pay it and then query later otherwise it would slow things down. As we wanted to prevent any further delays with our move we have paid £350 twice. As expected, now we are moved in we are getting ignored and losing hope we will get this money back. We are owed roughly £750 in over payments. They also charged us £100 for ‘gift money’ when my partners parents put £3000 into our account to help us with the extreme cost of moving. This is something I’ve never heard anyone be charged for before.

Very responsive and helpful
Very responsive, the person handling my case, Emily, was very informative and they made short work of the bits and pieces that needed doing and got it through a deadline very nicely while explaining what they needed from me. Yeah positive experience and good stuff.

Great, helpful and will highly recommend
We couldn’t ask for anymore help from Amina. Our house was delayed a lot longer than expected and Amina was there to reassure us every step of the way. She was very responsive and reliable and I highly recommend her. Her knowledge is amazing and she explained things through in great detail if we had any questions or issues which we needed addressing.
Amina thank you for all your help in our new home journey, your amazing!!!!
