Underwhelming! Not sure what the fuss is about. I can name 3 local curry houses who do better dishes. The only saving grace was our lovely server, Adam

Manchester branch
Manchester branch - great food, excellent quality and service. Jasmine was really friendly and gave excellent service, highly recommended!
Dishoom- Carnaby Street
Ate at Carnaby street location.
Usual hour of queueing to get in - it's a shame that they don't take reservations especially in winter as it isn't nice standing around in the street.
The meal itself was good, as was our server Massi who was funny, clearly knew the menu inside out and was one of the best servers I've ever experienced.
I've been to a couple of dishoom locations and the black dahl was lacking compared to at other locations- so far Shoreditch was the best.
Covent Garden staff was great!
Great food
The food was great but we were shocked by the lovely staff not wearing masks.
Fantastic food
Fantastic food, great ambiance, lovely staff. Menu is a little limited but I do appreciate it is street food and super niche.
Amazing services!
I visited Dishoom Carnaby Street last week for the first time. I wish I had got the servers names as they were both amazing! The first guy circled the menu for us when we asked what he recommended, making great recommendations on what to get with what and what wine to suggest. The lady we had for the rest of the meal was so attentive, constantly filling up my water glass, making sure everything was all okay. I even caught that she had ordered out a free popadom and dips for the table next to me as they had been waiting so long for their friend to arrive. So sweet! The food was amazing and I was stuffed full after trying so many dishes. Would highly recommend!
I've been to Dishoom
I've been to Dishoom before and enjoyed the food but on this occasion I didn't get past the (non)-booking process. We wanted a group of 6 for a date 3 weeks in advance. First of all the website "Reservation" tab didn't work. When I got through to Reservations on the phone I told them this and the agent patronisingly suggested it must be my browser. I brushed that aside and tried to make the reservation to be told that they didn't take reservations of that nature. I appreciate that they might suffer from a high level of no-shows but the arrogant business model suggests that they can turn happily away genuine customers. Hardly hospitality! I note from a previous review in this thread that the wait on a Saturday in Kensington for a walk-in was 2 hours. No thanks - I don't respond well to initial poor customer experiences.
delicious food
Lovely food but very noisey!!
I visited Dishoom ( Kensington) on Saturday for my sisters birthday. I rang to book a table but was told it was fully booked but I could still come down and would be able to get a table. We were told the wait would be an hour half when we arrived which turned out to be just under 2 hours! We were asked to sit at the bar which was dimly lit making it difficult to read the menu. We complained about the wait time and were offered chai on the house. We eventually got a table and were attended by helpful waiter, however what was meant to be a special occasion turned out to be the opposite. It was extremely noisy making very difficult to make any conversation. Even when placing the order, the waiter was not able to hear us which led to food items being ordered twice!! I checked the sound levels on my iPhone phone which was at 85-90 decibels! The food was pleasant, good service and attentive staff and arrived quickly. We were also given a free dessert with a candle for my sister’s birthday which was nice. Unfortunately due to the excessive noise the whole experience was very disappointing and we just wanted to get out of there.
Great professional reservations service
This review is about dishoom's online service - we already know that the food and waiting staff are brilliant.
I called Dishoom's booking line today and Melissa was extremely accommodating, helped recommend me a Dishoom location that's family friendly and easily updated my booking to the perfect time and location, all done very swiftly and professionally.
Dishoom continues to exceed my expectations

I visited Dishoom in London for lunch today and really enjoyed it. The food was amazing and the service very quick. Will definitely look for one when I am going to another city in the future.
Brunch!
We visited this place for brunch on a wet staurday morning. The atmosphere typified London - it was bustling with people from all walks of life. Business meetings, friends, families with kids, everything. The service was really nice and friendly and, most importantly for us, the food was just great. It really would be a regular spot for us if we lived closer but, sadly, we were just visiting the area. I highly recommend the house chai!

We visited Dishoom in Carnaby street.I would say we had the worst food we ever had in UK ...We waited for an hour just to get the table...The food which we ordered doesn't even looked fresh...We ordered cholay poore which we thought would be fresh but it wasnt...It was black chick peas with raw onion on the top..The halwa along side with it was definitely 3 to 4 days old....Along side we ordered Chicken Ruby which also had an odd turmeric taste...Chicken tikka and veg samosa were average..It is over priced....I would not recommend anyone to go there and waste their money.....We had a terrible experience...
Wonderful dining experience
Dishoom Edinburgh.
Absolutely wonderful. Thank you guys for an amazing dining experience. I can’t rate this restaurant high enough, the flavours they manage to pack into every single dish are superb. Okra fries, keema pau and chilli chicken for starters were incredible, chefs special Salli Boti was indeed very special and how a bowl of greens can pack so much flavour is truly an outstanding quality. Don’t forget the staff though as these guys add so much to the whole dining experience with their knowledge, experience and polite friendly manner.
Consistently excellent
Absolutely love this restaurant and have visited a number of times. We go the the Manchester branch on Bridge Street. My last visit was with Mum last Saturday for her birthday and the surprise chocolate dessert with chilli mango ice cream perfect.
Staff are always attentive, polite and knowledgeable.
The food is faultless and fantastic quality each visit.
Not impressed
We’ve just made and eaten ( 20 hours after delivery and stored as recommended) the breakfast naan which were a present. The bacon was good as is the concept of a bacon naan but we were both very disappointed by the tomato chili jam which was just mild and very sweet. We sprinkled piment d'espelette over it to give it a little bite. There was barely enough coriander to put in one naan let alone two and certainly none for garnish, as was suggested. And we do wonder when the dough balls were actually made as the outsides were already very grey, like pastry that had been sitting in the fridge for a couple of weeks, or the crust on a neglected sourdough starter. No comment on the chai as we'll try that later.
Excellent Customer Service
I ordered some bacon naan roll kits to send to my daughter. Excellent delivery but one of the kits was missing the bacon. I emailed straight away on a Sunday morning and received an instant reply with sincere apologies and the offer of two new bacon roll kits to be sent out as soon as they could. Anyone can make a mistakes and I was very impressed by the company’s swift and efficient response. The bacon rolls are delicious as well.
One of my favourite restaurants in London
One of my favourite restaurants in London. The service is fantastic and the food is truly delicious. Missing this place in the current lockdown, but ordered a takeaway via Deliveroo and it traveled really well. Was still equally as tasty and was well packaged.

Fantastic customer service following my error
Ordered bacon naan delivered to my 3 children and ourselves . I made a small error on address and 1 didn’t arrive
The gentleman I spoke to at dishoom customer services was fantastic and sorted
Needless to say the breakfast was lovely .
We miss going to the real thing
KIngs Cross
Visited the KIngs Cross branch recently on a whim for a quick brunch and had the bacon naan and some masala beans. Chai on the side. Lovely.
