Look at reviews before buying

Bed has just been delivered and cosmetic damage to it.Delivery drivers damaged all grass to front of property and couldn’t even be bothered to help carry it up when we specifically said in shop we wanted them to.Called head office which was supposed to be open until five and lo and behold they weren’t.Called store we bought it from and yet again they passed the buck to head office.When asked why invoice stated opening hours until five on a Saturday was told it was old paperwork they were completing.Customer service shocking.700+ bed with damage either in warehouse or in transit.Don’t deserve to have customers.First and last time of buying from them.Update, still trying to get this solved after several conversations and telling them I would be going to small claims court.Have now been told they have to speak to suppliers who are not open until 12 Jan and can’t do anything until then.Am now sending in recorded letter giving them a timescale and taking it further if no joy.Staff have disgusting attitudes toward customers.Have a look on Companies House and you will get an idea of how crap a company they are.Surprised they havnt been shut down before now

The customer service is atrosious

The customer service is atrosious. We bought a setee from the sunderland shop and they delivered the wrong one. We went to the shop and explained the mistake and asked for the sofa to be returned. A month later no action had been taken. We went back to the shop, asked for a refund, they came and picked the sofa up and a month later were still waiting our refund and every time we get in touch with the head office we're fobbed off, and told lies.
AVOID USING THIS FIRM PLEASE, THEY ARE ABISMAL

aviod this store at all cost…

aviod this store very poor service excuse after excuse customer service skills rude they lie aviod at all cost waited four weeks for my order never got it now trying to get my deposit back after being told you have to put your refund in writing never heard of any other shop operating this practice a set of liars treat customers like fools

Terrible customer service

Orderd a mattress for delivery and i havent even paid for it yet, its cash on delivery. i have been calling for 2 days now to cancel as im getting one cheaper and better for half the price, however they told me to call different numbers twice, ontop of this they had no remorse or customer service skills at all and they had no manners. not a single thank you or please or im sorry. just " this is the wrong number call head office for a cancelation" yes its quick and simple but from someone who works customer service myself. if i replied like that to my customers i wouldn't have a job for very long. definitely assured me that im not a welcome customer and that they obviously never want my money again. and i will see to it that my money isnt spent with this company again. my advice to hr is apply proper customer service training to your employees and also teach them about phone attitude.

I wish I had read reviews before I purchased a mattress from this company paying £444.99, it arrived and both sides were bowed in by 1.5 inches I have tried over and over again to get them to do something about it but getting nowhere fast they are a joke, I have contacted Trading Standards and they have told me to contact them again, which I have they told me the manufacturers wont do anything about it so they can't do anything and told me to get Trading Standards to ring them and they will deal with them. Once they have got your money they don't want to know about complaint's when I purchased the mattress they said the card machine was not working and even told me where the nearest cash point was I should have seen warning signals then, so pleased be aware when purchasing anything from this company, I have contacted Trading standards again and they told me they do not contact the consumer but the girl at Durham Bed and furniture company is adamant that she has spoken to them before wonder which one is lying ? don't think I am going to get anywhere with Durham Bed and Furniture group so beware before you buy anything from them. I am not sure what to do next can anyone please advise.

I ordered a chest of drawers from them…

I ordered a chest of drawers from them on 9 May was getting delivered end of June they rang and said it had been damaged said they cannot get that one too replace it had ordered a simpler one for me still waiting when you ring they haven't got it yet it's been 4 months nearly they have stolen nearly £300 off me I'm going up to Durham and get my money avoid them like the plage I wish I had

Wish I'd read the reviews before I'd shelled out 250 pound for a divan bed.

It never turned up on the day it was supposed to be delivered despite waiting in all day for it & waiting 4 weeks for it to be delivered

Will be claiming for a refund most definitely & ask people who dare purchase something from this company to please read the poor reviews that customers have left about the company, they are 💯 correct

I would not recommend Durham bed centre…

I would not recommend Durham bed centre to anyone! I paid in cash £279 plus delivery for a champagne ornate mirror back in july 2020. I was told it would be delivered in 2 weeks. 6 weeks later after a number of calls they finally delivered my mirror but to my surprise it was a completely different mirror, style and colour and not the one i ordered. I phoned on many occasions to arrange pick up. Another 6 weeks later they finally picked mirror up but did not deliver my original mirror I paid for. I phoned head office who give me a million excuses. Anyhow another 6 weeks later they finally delivered my mirror. The box was damaged and the guys said its ok its just of being in the warehouse. They dumped this huge 8ft box in the middle of my lounge and left. I opened box to find inside a broken mirror which they tried to cover up with glue!! I was fumming so phoned head office again. I was told they were aware of this broken mirror and the guys picked wrong mirror up from there warehouse. They arranged collection! Another 6 weeks went by before they collected broken mirror! I now had the issue of constantly phoning head office and heard every excuse in the book. I was promised i would receive my mirror by christmas. Christmas came and gone and still no mirror! Once again phoned head office who stated they lost my paper work! I was told I needed to send copy of my receipt. Any how i did this and was told my mirror is sitting in a port somewhere and as soon as they receive they will arrange delivery FREE of charge!! Absolute joke! I waited another 5 weeks and was told sorry but we wont be getting anymore of these mirrors in as we have issues with the supplier! To say i was devastated was a understatement. Nearly 7 months after purchase January 2021 after a million phone calls I recieved a refund! No apology or anything! Disgusting customer service! I would never buy from them again! They caused me alot of unnecessary stress as i was passed from pillow to post! No apology or anything! Avoid this company at all costs! Spend your hard earned cash elsewhere!

Reviews nor complaints responded to

Just an update to my last review, wrote in January 2021 about the fact this company had not acknowledged my complaint from 1st October 2020.
It's nearly April now and they've STILL not acknowledged it haha 🤣 will be going back down to store when it's open and will not move until this seemingly non-existent person from HR addresses it.

Where do I start

Where do I start ! Bed delivered later than promised. Mattress delivered with a big hole in it. Two different sized divan bases. Took ages to get through to customer services who said they would deliver the correct size matching base that afternoon that came three days later, correct size but a different colour. Was promised a new mattress and same colour base in October it’s Now March and I’m still waiting. Not been able to get through to anyone on the telephone or by emails and have had no contact from them whatsoever. Was also promised a refund for the delivery charge also six months ago and still waiting. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced and would advise people to steer clear. What a waste of £800

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE
I bought a bed last year from them with a mattress. Whilst in the shop I signed and paid for a bed with a Tencil mattress. When it arrived it came with a Tencil mattress but not the one I agreed to buy. The one I got was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever had. It is rock hard and there is no way I would have purchased this. I complained to the shop and both of the assistants that work there AGREED that they had never even seen that kind of mattress in the shop and couldn't understand why I had been sent this. They said they would get in touch with the office who would contact me about it. I received one phone call off them which ended with them saying they were waiting to hear back from the manufacturer and would get back to me. This was in October last year. Still heard nothing. Every time I rang the office nobody would answer. I understand that we have been in lockdown but the shop and the factory/office have been open in between so will have had a chance to respond to any email etc that I have sent. I am fighting to get a refund as there is no way I can sleep on it. I have a really bad back now from this.

Fast delivery rang

Fast delivery rang, last week Thursday and my bed came Tuesday So in love with my bed 🥰 Quality is so amazing and staff are so helpful and friendly. Thank you so much 😊 Thank you so much to the staff at the Metro centre branch and the delivery men for all your help in these times .

Waiting 4 months for delivery

Ordered a mirror mid September 2020 it is now mid Jan 2021 and I have received nothing but lies from this company. I have no idea what to believe anymore as it’s always the same sob story when I call up that my mirror is in a doc somewhere. I was told I would be waiting 2-3 weeks for this mirror and I honestly have no idea if I will ever receive my mirror! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

Ordered items given a 2 week waiting…

Ordered items given a 2 week waiting time then made yo what another 3 weeks then told would be 4 weeks later eventually 10 weeks later and two false delivery dates( because they didn't have the items they said they had) items were finally delivered. Was told by a lovely lady called jill in the office that I would receive a discount as compensation and two months later I'm still waiting. Wish I had never bought from them as been nothing but a headache and wouldn't recommend anyone else to shop with them.

The problem I have is the fault on my sons ottoman bed

The problem I have is the single ottoman bed creaks every time my son moves and the mattress has dipped in the middle and is very uncomfortable.

I first made contact with your head office on 2nd November and the lady I spoke to said she needed to send a service engineer out to have a look at it so that was booked in for Sat 7th November BUT WAS A ALL DAY CALL so I waited in all day and about 2 30 pm I phone your head office to find out if anyone could give me a idea for the engineers call and was told that it could be anytime up until 6pm and NOBODY TURNED UP, so on Monday 10th November I phoned your head office back up AGAIN and explained everything to the lady on the phone and was told that no appointment was booked in for Saturday 7th November she apologised and took some details from me so she could go into you archive's to find my invoice and would phone me back AND NO NOTHING NO PHONE CALLS NOTHING !!.

So since then I have tried to contact your head office about another 10 times with no answer just RINGING.

I have sent 3 emails nothing no replies no phone calls nothing.

DISGRACEFUL COMPANY WITH ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE AVOID AT ALL COSTS
