As described and easy to deal with

Excellent service. Quick to reply to email and phone calls. My purchases were sent well packaged and via secure postal services. Also, there are an excellent range of auctions to suit a variety of budgets. If I wish to buy at an auction again I would definitely choose Elmwoods.

Bought a piece "antique" jewelry that turned out to be a reproduction. I returned it and they ignored my requests for a refund for two years. I had to buy another more expensive item at another auction, then, when they sent me the bill for that, reminded them that they owed me over 600 pounds and I wasn't paying until the invoice reflected that.

What Auction House does not allow Credit Card payments internationally?

There is written nowhere that object shipped to EU may be taxed by Customs, and otherwise there are no procedure for tax free in uk(nobody replied by email about this matter) so I paid taxes twice!

Update 13 Jan 2026: On Dec the 16th 2025 Toby from the Elmwood’s asked me to edit this review. He told me I had the right to be refunded for 75£ as VAT refund on premium.( price paid 2036£) He asked my bank account. Of course nothing has been done, I have not received the money. I feel really disgusted by their attitude. Very bad experience

The shipping is really good .Regarding the item that auction house sold as Jadeite jade , but I have asked two jadeite jade experts in China and they both said the bead necklace is not jadeite jade . It is just normal green jade which it’s much cheaper than jadeite jade . Just wonder how the expert in auction house valued as Jadeite jade .

I had a great experience, called up shortly before the auction to get some additional information on a lot, and they sent lots of additional photos and videos of the item very quickly. The post sale experience was also great, I received my item 3 working days after the auction. Will use again

Easy Transaction. Helpfull staff

The auction was easy to access (bidding on line and commissions). everything went smoothly. Questions and extra images answered and sent promptly. Invoice arrived quickly and postage followed quickly. In all an excellent professional and smooth experience. Quality of lots is excellent.

I was very pleased with the item I purchased and with the auction process itself. I was able to register easily and the bidding online worked without a hitch. The item was being delivered and I would have liked more feedback on when the funds were received. Delivery was by a reputable courier, but unfortunately it did not go smoothly. I informed Elmwoods of this and received an explanatory note but I would have liked it taken a little more seriously. It wouldn't stop me from purchasing again as the item was perfect.
