Very efficient. Clear non commercial advice given and delivered highly competently with excellent concordant approach. Gave me just what I needed in terms of cover for my trip to Kyrgystan but also excellent medical information regarding real risk. Friendly, punctual, professional
The receptionist was incredibly friendly, attentive and hospitable. A very relaxing waiting environment.
The nurse was thorough and professional, giving me all the necessary info. As a private clinic, I thought they would try and push unnecessary vaccines for my travels. This was not the case.
10/10 would recommend.

My experience at Emcare was comfortable and informative
My experience at Emcare was very informative. The nurses shared the details of each vaccine and were supportive throughout each visit.
I would definitely recommend this clinic for those travelling or moving abroad.

Simple to get an appointment and good…
Simple to get an appointment and good service on the telephone undermined once we were at the clinic. We had already been to our GP and received a thorough briefing about what vaccinations we needed, which were a matter of personal judgement and those we didn’t need. The “consultant” ignored this information and proceeded to go through an entire consultation process using what appears to be a script and online tool. In the end we didn’t receive the vaccination we had specified because she said it would be unnecessary (in the face of clear advice to the contrary on the .gov.uk site and information from our travel agent) and therefore she couldn’t provided it as she feared losing her licence! This is a paid service and in any similar situation I would have happily signed a waiver to have the security of the required certificate. No such option was given and she proceeded to charge us for the “consultation” that we neither needed nor wanted. A complete waste of time and money. I couldn’t in all good conscience recommend using this clinic. Her approach could easily have led to us standing in front of a nation state immigration official arguing that a uk clinic said we don’t need this certificate and they must let us in! Anyone who has travelled in Africa, India or Asia knows that that is a laughable approach that will end with you being sent straight out of their country on the next available flight. Don’t use these people. Find a local GP that is licenced and use them.
Regarding Emcare’s reply:
Your response doesn’t deal with the fundamental issue of being refused entry by a corrupt or misinformed immigration official or hotel receptionist. You can quote WHO and other “official” sources but bitter experience tells me that the individual tourists isn’t going to be able to use these sources to deal with the situation on the ground. Let governments get their own houses in order and let individual citizens make informed choices about whether or not they want to be vaccinated. If you really want to discuss this directly then you will need to post contact details on Trust Pilot.

We pay great attention to feedback from our clients and in relation to the points you have raised I will endeavour to give you feedback which I hope in some way will help clarify the points. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss this with you directly if you would care to call or email our clinic.
1/ We understand that many clients will see their GP service prior to attending our clinic and may have already received advice, however Emcare are duty bound to give all clients a full and complete travel health risk assessment. We record essential details about client trips including details of advice and vaccinations provided. This is an absolute requirement of the regulations we work under.
2/ Health practitioners from the NHS and from private clinics in Scotland, carrying out travel health risk assessment do use an online resource called Travax (NHS web site). This provides up to the minute information regarding risks to health when travelling abroad and information can change as frequently as daily. Using this online resource is considered best practice amongst travel health experts in the UK. In our clinic this is used as an essential tool over and above the extensive experience of our travel health practitioners.
3/ We investigated immediately your information regarding the Gov.uk site and escalated this matter to Health Protection Scotland. They contacted the National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC), who promote clinical standards in travel medicine in the UK, who have contacted the agency responsible for the Gov.uk site. The comment you refer to on the Gov.uk web site, which was contrary to the International Health Regulations as set out by the World Health Organisation, has now been removed.
4/ In relation to health care practitioners who are responsible for giving vaccines, our practitioners follow a professional code of conduct and by Health Protection Scotland to work under the International Health Regulations as laid down by the World Health Organisation and are not permitted to give vaccines where they are not indicated as required. Health professionals can and do lose their registrations if they choose to do this.
5/ We do completely understand that: there can be contrary advice given by travel agents, however it is important to keep in mind that travel agents are not travel health experts and the information they may have can be out of date; and there are stories that can be cited, particularly about rogue immigration officials. To help clients with this sort of issue going forward, we will create a key information fact sheet, about how to deal with this, in conjunction with experienced travellers. We will also look for input from travel Governing Bodies. We will get to work on this right away.
Emcare are a specialist clinic for travel health and we will give clients accurate and essential advice regarding travel while working to the standards as laid down by NHS Scotland and the World Health Organisation. We absolutely will vaccinate clients where risk identifies that this is required, or where there is a country entry requirement as identified by that Country in conjunction with the World Health Organisation, this is our mission and we take the safety of our clients while travelling and the quality of our medical service extremely seriously.
We would be delighted to speak to you directly regarding this matter as we do feel that you have highlighted where there can be misunderstanding and this is an opportunity for Emcare Travel Clinic to help communicate critical information regarding this really important issue which will help travellers in the future.

Good prices, I checked a lot of companies out before choosing Emcare. The nurses were extremely informative about areas travelling to and recommendations particular vaccinations, without 'over selling' or pressuring to receive extra vaccinations.
