I have a few rental properties in Southampton and have been using Enfields to fully manage them for several years now. I have found the service to be professional, helpful and pleasant. I have never had to worry about receiving rent or having unsuitable tenants. Happy to recommend the company.
Excellent experience with them
Excellent experience with them, they were very responsive, explained everything in detail, answered all my questions, and were very quick to process everything. Would definitely recommend them, and intend to use Enfields again.
Responsive fully managed letting service

My experience with Enfields has been incredibly positive. I chose this agency to purchase my home, and 18 years later, I chose them again to sell it. From the very beginning, the service has been outstanding. Unlike other agencies, they genuinely invest time in their clients, which has been incredible—much more than I expected. They often responded outside of office hours, always with kindness and a positive attitude, providing invaluable assistance. Selling a house can be very stressful, but thanks to the agents at Enfields, everything has been much easier. Their dedication, personal touch, patience, and understanding made me feel like I had a true friend by my side—one of the good ones. I can never fully express my gratitude for their support. Don't ever try with this people, usually I don't like to write review however these people are awful..!! Threatening me to vacate the house and given section 21 without reason and I have requested 3more months extensive as I brought my own property these guys need only money and I maintained property very well still they blame me without reason as they want to send me out and get higher rent.. beals agent booked appointment with buyers but he missed many times to visit property and I have wait for him and he never informed when he failed to come..
Sarah is one awful and always Threatening.. they shouting at me when I visited their office..

The property they put it in market since June 2021 and it didn't sold until July 2022 as they never renovated since almost 65 years for that these people are blaming me which is not good at all.. they should respect their customers

I have been forced to sign to this Enfield let while I’m not working and with 4 children the youngest is 17 months and a single parent. And this Enfield let has been over priced my rent and threatened me to apply to universal credit to my rent and if I don’t I will be ask to vacate the accommodation while they are aware that I will affected by the benefits cap.

Staff are rude and don’t care takes months to get any jobs done and then it’s done by a crap handyman and landlords are over charged for the work
They will then try and claw back as much of your deposit as they can and lie

A big warning for Guarantor’s due to…
A big warning for Guarantor’s due to the lack of communication from Endfield’s we had a £7,000 bill to pay. We did not receive the numerous emails they claim to have sent advising us of rent arrears. The Landlord established they had our email address wrong, despite us setting up the tenancy agreement by email. Endields’s stated that they were not aware that our emails were being undelivered due to their system problems. Apparently they do not send letters in the post or telephone Guarantor’s when there is a problem. They would not take responsibility for any of the debt and dealt with the situation with a considerable lack of empathy. We did not even receive an apology for their error, or poor practice.

Saw a property with this letting agent, waited couple of days and as nobody was calling me after expressing my interest went to zoopla where found the property initially just to find that the rent has been increased from 750 to 775 which in per se is not an issue but I do find this a lack of professionalism as I nobody informed me about it or that if I offer more I would have a better chance.
Disappointed with the customer service…
Disappointed with the customer service I recently received. I viewed a property one afternoon, and made it clear to the person showing me round that I was interested. I asked if the person showing me round knew if it would be snapped up quickly, and the reply was that I had at least 24 hours to talk to my partner and pay the holding deposit. I was told I would be emailed over the offer pack later that day.
By the next morning, I had not received the offer pack, so called Enfields to check I had not missed anything. I was told that someone would call me back that day. I did not receive a call back, and then found out later that day the property had been let to someone else. I did not find out from Enfields, but from a property search site.
When my partner went in to the store to enquire about if the property was still available, they were told I had been emailed but had not responded. I checked all my emails (including junk and spam) and NEVER received an email from Enfields. Enfields never called me back to advise me the property had been let, and never contacted me at all regarding the offer information.
I am thoroughly disappointed as I made it very clear I loved the flat, and that I wanted it. Avoid at all costs.
If you're a potential tenant - avoid this agency at all costs
Unsurprisingly, the majority of reviews you will read on this will be from landlords or sellers, but there's a lack of reviews from actual tenants about their experiences. So here's a first.
Enfields will be your best friend when you're dealing with the lettings department. However once you have signed the contract and moved in you will deal with the property management department, who are nothing but nightmares.
The communication from Enfields is beyond nonexistent, you will have better luck getting replies and answers from a brick wall. If you report faults don't expect them to be dealt with, even if it is a legal responsibility for the landlord to fix. Don't even expect a response at all, and if you do manage to get through to them over the phone instead, you will be fobbed off with rubbish excuses, or told it will be dealt with soon, but months will pass, and the same replies will be given.
I am an experienced renter, having lived in many properties in my lifetime so far around the country, majority with estate agencies, and Enfields is 100% one of the worst I have experienced.
It took 7 weeks to get my deposit back. Not because of any dispute or issue, but because I would not get a reply when asking where it was, "sorry we've been busy" would be the answer after chasing for 2 months. I spent more time chasing them about my property, then they spent actually managing it and doing their jobs.
Unfortunately it got to the point of threatening legal action before Enfields would even begin to reply. And only once I'd submitted the documentation to take the landlady to court, I finally got an answer.
So in summary, if you're looking for a rental property, save yourself the hassle, even if it's the house of your dreams, it is not worth it. I will forever avoid any property managed by this joke of an agency, and I would suggest anyone reading this to do the same. I don't often write reviews, but my experience was so bad, this was a necessity to warn others. Avoid. At all costs.
After sale care could be better!
This is a honest and constructive review. I left a glowing 5 star review the last time in May 2022 for Enfields Shirley however it all kind of went downhill after that...
We accepted an offer on our house back in May (hence the glowing review) up until then with Enfields was good. No issues with the marketing of our home. But then it went awfully quiet once we were given date of when home survey was to be done. We had to continuously chase up ourselves after that, communication was poor. We did a reduction on the offer due to the findings on report and then expected things to move forward.
Then we were told the buyer was struggling to get a mortgage. We were in fact told there wasn't going to be a mortgage as buyer was buying the house for her son. Turns out she was looking to buy to let.
Had we known that it wasn't a cash buy or that she had no mortgage a.i.p in place we'd not have gone ahead. This took months. I had to email every week to hear yet more delays, it would have been courteous for Enfields to contact me first to keep me in the loop.
I did feel during this whole process Enfields was more geared towards the needs of the buyer than us the sellers.
We waited weeks for the buyer to find a mortgage (which is not Enfields fault) and then finally sold last week (nearly 5 months).
There was a lot of chasing, up to 3 weeks of no communication whatsoever and a lot of distress.
One of the staff members then left in Sales Progression, she was taken over by Louise who was really helpful and lovely to talk to. She started chasing for us. Will Piercy, Sales Director is a CREDIT to the team who moved things along for me when I complained, I have always found him to be reliable and understanding.
I just wish we had the full picture in the beginning of the process re the buyers intentions and wished communication to be stronger.
Other than that, Enfields remain to be more professional than other Estate Agents I've used and having recently had a reshuffle of staff I would be happy to use them again. Thank you.
