Called for an electrician to install a plug socket in my shed…
Called for an electrician to install a socket(plug) in my shed. Was given a time the same day, never turned up. They contacted me to say he will turn up the next day before 10am didn't turn up until after mid day, and they turned out to be plumbers!!!!!
Contacted customer service to cancel they told me I would be charged for the guys who turned up, when I told her I would take legal action if they did, because it was them who was totally at fault, they hung up on me.
Do not use this company, it is an absolute joke.
Rude staff
I called for a quote. The lady gave the quote (which was more than double the previous quote I had), so I politely said "thanks anyway" and she abruptly hung up the phone. Very rude and poor customer service. I would not use this business for that reason.
I will not be using this company a second time!
I needed the power to a shower cut as the water regularly overflowed and trickled downstairs through the light rose. An electrician did come out but not at the original agreed time. He completed the very simple job but unfortunately cut the power line to the top floor. I reported the problem and he finally returned and reconnected the power line to the top floor. I believed that the second visit would not be charged for as a mistake had been made.
I have then found that I have been charged twice that is 2x£198! Both jobs took less than 20 minutes. When I called in the second time to have the mistake rectified the call handler said that it would be covered by their work guarantee for the first job. No warning or mention was made about the second charge, the money was just taken from my account.
Completely useless
Arranged an appointment for the next day. The next day they phoned when the time window was half over saying there'd be a delay. All right. I happened to be in later. Then they phoned at the end of the day to say they couldn't make it and to cancel. Wasted an entire day of mine.
ERG Electrics - in my experience are unreliable.
Don't use this company. Called at 10:30am and arranged for a Plumber to come and fit a shower before 4:00pm today. around 2:00pm got a call saying that they had nobody available and were cancelling. I called the booking number to complain and the person spoke to just put the phone down on me. I was unhappy but was certainly not angry.. Poor service and poor customer service.. what can I say...
Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful!
Needed an emergency electrician out asap - rang them and they said it would be £185 an hour plus parts.
Accepted this as we have no power upstairs so needed someone out asap.
Waited in all day for them to not turn - rang them and they’d booked us for a different day - even though we had specifically said we needed someone today!
Now have no power upstairs till we can find another electrician to come out!!
Terrible service and waste of time!!
Awful experience.
Booked an emergency appointment, waited in all day the guy was a no show, called to find out they had booked me in the following day. Truly awful I can't recommend not using this company enough.
BEWARE!!!!
SUB CONTRACTORS - beware!!! Do not use! They do not pay!!!
CUSTOMERS- please use local tradesmen, these are just an agency.
We have been waiting payment for multiple jobs that have been completed on time and with happy clients waiting on payments since February. Accounts do not want to know!?
Debt collectors instructed
Avoid at all costs
This firm charge up front, why? They don't want to do the job. They will take the money and then do nothing. Do not use this firm ever. Again they charge upfront because they know that 90% of even basic jobs are beyond them and the will keep your money while doing nothing.
OVERPRICED COWBOY CONTRACTOR
OVERPRICED COWBOY CONTRACTOR - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Attended to a rental property we have on our books, completely ignored the instruction from the job looking at the lights rather than the boiler causing a 3 day delay in the issue being looked at. Then sent a contractor out who spent a whole 15 minutes at the property before deciding he wasn’t qualified for the issue.
Had another company attend 2 days later who highlighted the issue was a simple loose connection with the fuse board which was not picked up by the electrician who attended.
Raised with complaints team who were rude and arrogant on the phone, they seemed to think it was my job as the customer to diagnose electrical faults rather than the electricians. Refused to offer a single penny off the £222 per hour call out bill, despite clearly being at fault for the saga.
Properly pathetic company.
LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS ONLINE, DO NOT USE.
Called them to fix a light
Called them to fix a light. Electrician said it needed a new switch. Light failed next day, they want to charge again to come and fix it
I even do not want any stars
I even do not want any stars!
Be aware them!
When we booked this company they asked us credit card details for secure. We suspect that point but we gave them the information because they insisted. One hour before booking appointment, they called us and they cannot send any electricians not just today, forever.
Why they asked us our credit card detail even before electrician arrive?
This company is absolute scammer.
They put on yell and they faked trustpilot stars as well.
They are terrible.
Please be aware them.
Do not touch this company with a ten…
Do not touch this company with a ten foot barge pole. Fast response and reliable they said an absolute lie. Booked an appointment then they cancelled so rearranged didn't turn up again and took ages to get in touch with someone to be given another excuse. Rubbish rubbish rubbish.
The most blatant case of daylight banditry I've ever encountered!
The first thing the ERG electricians did upon their arrival was ask me to sign something. Already a red flag but I'm too trusting.
Then after 5 minutes they said they won't do that job on that day because it was too late (was 8 PM) and they will come back the next day. I said thank you, I'll get somebody else.
The next day ERG charged me £220. I called them and said they've done no work, no assessment, given no quote, just refused to do the work. They said they'll look into it but that was the last I heard from them.
This is of course criminal activity although probably legal. Sadly, if you use ERG, you deserve to have them help you part with your money as much as I did.
No respected tradesman will ask you for your credit card details in advance. ERG does. Case in point.
I added a 2star because the fault is…
I added a 2star because the fault is partly fixed. When the electrics decided to fail it leaves you in panick of getting them repaired. We are not electricians but managed by trial and error find the fault from the fuse box to kitchen and upstair extension sockets. We phoned 3 companies and didn't get a reply so when we manage to speak to ERG who said they could get someone out at £135+vat per hour you think to yourself well it's not a big job to find a fault and repair. In our case the socket which fed the plugs was located behind a glass screen (worktop splash back). The 32 amp cable was split to 20amps and managed to get a feed although only 20amps. The NEC recommendation is 2x20 amp cable so we need further work to bring it up to the required amount. It cost £348 which included £20 for a socket and according to the engineer it will cost another £3-400 to put right so nearly a £1,000 which could be cheap for all we know, but according to Google you can expect to pay between £35 - £45.5 Sept 2022 so even if you double that it's nowhere near ERG rates especially not living in London area. Not sure how they claim very competitive rates and fast response when someone didn't come till the following day. You never know when being charged by the hour whether it really takes 1 hr etc. The enginer came at 3 and departed dead on the dot at 5. He could have rushed to get it completed in that time but we will never know.
AVOID: Liars
For a start, on their website and on Yell, they pretend they have a 4* rating on TrustPilot.
I spoke to someone called Claire H this morning (Thursday). She was very helpful and arranged for an engineer to come out for half a day tomorrow.
She even checked with the engineer while I was on the phone.
We weren't expecting such a fast appointment but weren't going to complain, so we spent today preparing for them to come and do the work, including trawling the local town for outdoor lights!
Tonight, at 4:45pm, we got a call from them saying that they were cancelling the appointment and that their engineer actually doesn't have availability until January.
I would very strongly recommend that you AVOID this company.
Really good service from this…
Really good service from this company, they got an electrician out to me in a few hours who sorted out our problem. A bit pricey at £155 plus vat per hour but worth it in our case.
Dont let thier website fool you with…
Dont let thier website fool you with their 4 star review on trust pilot as its obviously a lie. Wouldn't even give it one star! Absolutely shocking service. Same as the other reviews, waited in 5 hours Friday for them to call and say on the last hour 6pm, they can't get to us but gave us a slot of 10am today, nobody turned up, we phoned at 11am to find out where they were and was told the engineer on the way then they said they have double booked and need to re arrange, no courtesy call nothing. Plus £135 an hour plus parts! Just to fix a shower isolator which will take no more than 10 mintues (told by a difderent company), no thanks. AVOID.
Worst company ever
Worst company ever! Never ever been so fuming. Not only are they extortionate at £135 per hour (not Inc.VAT)!!! Waited between 2-6 on Friday, had a call at 5.30pm to say they're off for bank holiday and can't attend. Re-booked me in for today (Tuesday) for 10....chase them up at 10.15-no clue whats happening. 10.30-get a call to say they've conveniently double booked my appointment. You can guess what I said!!!AVOID AVOID AVOID
Called this company and it took 5 hrs…
Called this company and it took 5 hrs for an electrician to arrive.
Totally inept. I had drilled through a cable and needed a simple replacement. They spend the whole duration running up and down the stairs and in the fuse box area. At the end of the hr they said they can fix the cable but it would take them 2 hrs at the price of 300 plus vat. Obviously I declined. The next day I called another electrician who fixed the cable for 70 pounds and it took him 15 mins. He told me all they had done was take out a screw that had been tripping the wire and hadn’t fixed the problem.
Obviously got nowhere with customer service
Who are fobbing me off so I will go to the media about them and trading standards.
Complete “ cowboys”
