Do not use this company they are con murchents.i was given a quote £125 for 2 electric sockets and a led light fitted.the you man came out he was really polite and got on with the job.as he had nearly cut out the hole for the socket the women ring me and told me that if the electrician went over an hour it would cost £300 .I told her there was no way I could afford that.it was definitely going to take more than a hour.the electrician had only nearly finished cutting the hole and he had been here 25 minutes so I had no other choice to ask him to leave the sockets and just fit the light which he did.he was really apologetic and I told him it was not his fault.so now I have a big hole in the wall no sockets and was charged £150 just for the light fitting.i rung the company the women said she explained this to me when I first phoned but she didn't.

I wish I had seen these Reviews before…

I wish I had seen these Reviews before contacting company on the phone. My advise is Do Not Use Go Elsewhere. Needed emergency Electrician to replace Economy 7 fuse box. Quoted £295 for site survey which I refused. Negotiated £135 + Vat hourly rate to replace plus parts. Would attend next day before 18:00! At 15.30 no contacts and no show. I knew job would take at least 2 hours and parts would be needed to be verified replacements. Couldn’t get through on phone. Went Live-chat and needed not bother. Lies, deceit and would attend soonest was the banter. They had insisted on 1st phone call Card no. given to them. I cancelled the job and the abuse started. I copied it all. Just want to advise, be warned, read reviews first, there are over 100 bad reviews here. Keep safe not only from Covid, but buggers like these monkeys too!!

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CONTACT OR USE…

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CONTACT OR USE THIS AGENCY ......for this is all this number is. Following a fire in a fuse box, and having no hot water or heating on the coldest weekend of the year so far for two days, we were desperate for an emergency electrician, being unable to locate any other. No problem we were informed but we would need to accept an inspection certificate first at a cost of £295 plus VAT (of course) and the work could then commence. This was refused but were then told somebody could be with us the following day, Monday, between 9.00am and 6.00pm - this despite our being in our 70’s and being without the necessary power for the last two days. Reluctantly having to accept this we gave our bank card details as immediately required.

Monday arrived, at 3.30pm with still no indication of an electrician my husband phoned and was told they had tried to contact us, this being totally untrue as they had TWO phone numbers and an email address with none having been attempted to be used for us. Absolutely furious with them and having been treated in such a despicable way from the very start they were told in no uncertain terms to cancel any contract they considered to have with us. This agency only wanted to obtain as much money as possible for as little assistance as possible. Absolutely a waste of time to those really in need of immediate help regardless of all the promises they seem to offer and at huge charges. A disgrace to the industry.

When is an emergency not an emergency

They advertise themselves as a 24/7/365 service and they will have an electrician with you often within the hour. I phoned at 10 am on Saturday, The operative sounded very professional, took all the details and said that we would be all sorted safely by six pm. Got a call from someone else at 3pm saying their electrician was running late and wouldn't be able to get to us that day but we would be first job tomorrow and we would be all sorted by midday. Got a call at 10am on Sunday, the electrician wasn't feeling very well and wouldn't be able to come but if I wanted they could get someone else out first thing Monday morning, two nights without heat and light in a cold January during lockdown, wife and 3 children, not good really. Monday comes, no calls no shows, I call the office and I'm told I am on the list to be sorted by midday, two o'clock I phone again to ascertain if we are in the same time zone and am assured the electrician is on his way. Chap turns up at 4.15, he got the call at 14.50 and came because he was in the area. In fairness he located the problem and isolated the offending unit so that we could have electric on to the rest of the property. And the charge??? £150, I wouldn't recommend calling this company if you have a real emergency, I gave one star because there is no facility to give none.

How many men does it take to change a lightbulb...

Rang for an Electrician to wire up a chandelier. Was quoted £185ph for a Sunday, £125ph for Monday. I chose the Monday. I knew it wasn't going to take a full hour as I had done most of the work myself, it just needed wiring together. Three electricians turned up on the Monday, they were at my address for less than 20 minutes. I had a notification from my bank on Tuesday saying that £196 was declined from my account!! I have now blocked my card!! Daylight robbery if you ask me. Avoid at all costs... ERG if you're reading this I will happily pay for the 20 minutes work done but NOT £196. I'd love to know where you got that figure from. You have my number, use it!!

Changed the hourly rate

Called up to get a job booked in and was told it would be £125+VAT per hour. 20 minutes after booking the job I got a call saying that if I wanted the job done today it would be £165+VAT per hour as the job was booked after 3pm, and that this was a discounted rate from £195+VAT per hour. Needless to say I cancelled the booking instead of letting these cowboys anywhere near the property.

The company has a load of different names on Yell.com, some showing with local numbers and other with 0800 numbers, so be careful and make sure you avoid them.

NEVER USE THIS "COMPANY" THEY ARE A CON.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. They say they have booked you an electrician, give you a time and date, you ring to check when the electrician has not turned up, they swear the job is booked and electrician will arrive as has confirmed the job ... Guess what? Electrician does not turn up.
It's just a scam, you take time off work etc etc... They are shameless, not concerned at all when you ask why they lied.

Scam,daylight robbery,Avoid

Had a partial power loss at home so was stupid enough to call them,as they arr the first one to pop up on google search engine. Was told that the engineer will be here by 3,then 4,then another hour. Finally engineer arrived around 1900.
As soon he arrived he told me without even looking at anythin that i have paid for only one hour (£175) and he dont think he is will be able to find problem in one hour.So better i pay for anouther 4 hours and then he will try to find the issue.Luckily my sense prevailed and refused his offer. So he went around the house pretending to find a fault. But no luck.
I then called a local electrician who manage to find the fault within 5 minutes. These people are scam, avoid avoid avoid.

Still waiting at 17:30 for an electrician that was supposed to be here between 9 and 12. Customer services not responding, and the booking team is as useful as a chocolate teapot. At a call out fee of £165, I would expect better than this! Avoid like the plague!

Say they will fix it at set price, then want to charge more.

I called and told them the socket had no power to it, 'no problem, it can be fixed today for £150.00'. 'Brilliant'. To secure the booking I had to give credit card details and was told no money would be taken until it was fixed. So engineer came in, did a lot of fault finding then told me that his hour was up and if I wanted it fixed he will have to book in 3-4 hours work.' At no point was I told that it was done on an hourly rate. 'That's not what I was told, - it would be fixed for £150.00'. Told me that the engineer had to do a lot of fault finding, but I already told them there was no power going to the socket so that was already done. They took the £150.00 and did not fix the issue. Not impressed especially when they were then trying to get 3-4 hours more work at £150.00 an hour out of me as well. Very poor and definitely would not recommend them to anyone.

total rip off merchants please avoid

Do not use this company. They confirmed they would charge £125+VAT per hour, but took £300 from my account for a 70 minute job....every member of staff spoke to was rude and unhelpful.
When I challenged the fact they had taken near double the amount I'd been quoted I was told I should have gone on their website and read the terms and conditions- which I would have happily done if they had told me this before taking money from my account or sending someone to my house!!! Total con artists would advise to avoid completely.

I am a victim

I am a victim. I contacted an electrical company called ERG regarding my underfloor heating.
I explained that the heating mat has already been installed and that the flooring was back in place I only need assistance to make the electrical connection between heating mat and electrical supply.
I was told that I could have an electrician the same day. I was delighted as we were about to enter the 2nd lockdown. It was explained the this would cost me £125.00 on completion of the work, I agreed to this. I was asked to provide my card details in order for the job to be booked, I was quite resistant to produce, I asked why is this necessary, and was told it was because of Covid. I continued to voice my concern and was reassured that no money would not be taken from my account until the work was completed. With feelings of reluctance, I gave my card details and the job was booked.
The electrician arrived at the agreed time. I explained to him what the job entailed, connection and that the groundwork had already been completed. He asked to see the electrical supply box, the attachments the were provided for heating, and the instructions for the appliance. I did not have the instructions. He went onto advise me that floor boards would have to be lifted as the temperature probe was not attached. Also that he would need to supply conduit to cover the exposed wiring, I responded by saying the conduit I could take care of. He decided to make a call, I think to his office to explain his findings, I think he made up to 3 calls in total. He then concluded the visit by saying I would have to arrange another booking and I would be charged the £125.00.
This was now an issue, I said I would call his office to clear up the matter, as I was confused as to why I would be charged for incomplete work.
I did call the company and explained in detail the situation. I also explained that none of the electrician’s tools had been used as no physical work took place, I also pointed out the company website clearly states that there is ‘no call out charge’. I was informed that despite explanation, I would still pay to stated fee. I was also advised to use the website chat line to continue raising my complaint. I did just that for it to be repeated that the charge would remain. I contacted my bank which agreed to investigate the matter. They also advised me to contact the ombudsman. 3 days later I received a call from ERG to discuss my issue and to give me a quote for the work. I was surprised to find that the total bill would cost me almost £500.00 in total. I obviously declined any further work on the basis that I had already lost £125.00. I soon after received a call stating that this initial fee was a diagnostic charge, this was what the visit was for. I said if this was initially the case I would not have decided to pay such a large amount for a diagnostic call as there was no repair to be detected and fixed.
Left unresolved on all counts.
I too should have read the reveiws, they know we havent read them, if we had we wouldnt book them.

DO NOT USE, CON COMPANY

Right I needed some electric work doing in my house. I needed a double plug socket moving and another double socket next to it they gave me a price over the phone well I thought it was the price they said £78 + vat + parts and any extra work so I gave them my card details I know I shouldn't. so a Electrician came round to have a look he wasn't in my house no more then 5 minutes he said I will get a call back about the quote. I got a call back about 16::09 that day with a full price of the quote and it was £428 so I said no way it's way to much for the I needed doing so they said if the work isn't complete I will be charged £78 + vat which I wasn't happy about I wasn't don't this when I first called up I understood the price they gave me was a rough price for the job they said no it's in the TC and it's my Responsibility to read them and now they have taken out £98.60 out of my bank account. It's not right this company as done this and I'm not the only one wish I read the reviews. I need the money back

DISGUSTING , MISLEADING & UNDERHANDED SERVICE

£125 + 20% VAT Quoted over the phone for fitting an electrical socket and tv aerial. When I asked is this the "Total cost" I was assured "Yes, it is". Tradesman turned up to tell me it was more work than that. Got a call back quoting an insane £343. I told them to forget it, to then be told I may have to pay a "Call out Charge" !!. I argued that this was never at any point communicated with me in the previous phone conversation and is very underhanded and needs to be disclosed to any potential customers, its also pretty unheard of for tradespeople to try and charge for coming out to quote for a job.
