NO SHOW. & NO NOTICE

Booked electrician with promise of attending my property on the same day before 5pm. At 16:55 I called to check if they were on the way. Only to find that the engineer would not be coming and i was asked if it would be ok to wait two days? I went elsewhere and got a better service.

Day Wasted

We were told an electrician would be with us by 5pm. At 4pm, we received a phone call to say that no electricians were available as they were stuck doing "non-emergecy jobs", our job was an emergency as we had lost power and we were not prioritised. An electrician eventually came at 6 and the company did nothing out of courtesy for wasting our entire day. Very disappointed. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the electrician did the job, but he didn't work directly for this company.

Absolute rubbish service

Absolute rubbish service. called them out Friday afternoon for an emergency one hour before they were due to arrive they called me and stated there was a problem with the electrician's van and that they could not get to me until Monday. so much for 24/7 365 days a year also prices quoted were extortionate £168 per hour. will never use then again

Very poor - avoid!!

Very, poor! Waited in a day and half. Terrible communication.
Incompetent to say the least!
If zero star option it would have been given.
There is a 5 star review From trust pilot posted front and center on the website. Seem like trust pilot does not review their clientele. Zero star for trust pilot too!

Called them at 11am on Saturday morning…

Called them at 11am on Saturday morning as woke up to no electric they said it wouldn't be a problem they had some good guys in my area. They quoted me £145+ vat which I agreed too as I was desperate. They called me back at 3pm to tell me that the engineer will no longer be come and they have no one available till Monday which would leave me 2 days without electric. They then said they will be cancelling my call and for me to find some one local to fix it. When I said I wasn't happy as ive waited for them all day when I could have found someone else they just said sorry yes we understand that. Will never be using this company again lucky I found a lovely local enigeer who was with me in 10 minutes and charged me £50

Disappointing. Terrible service.

I wish i had read the reviews prior to booking this awful p*** poor service.
We were desperate. I am heavily pregnant and the central heating and hot water fuse circuit stopped working. We called this business who said they will come that day by 8.30pm. At 8.20pm they called to say nobody will come as the electrician is off sick and will call us tomorrow. There was nothing we could do. The next day nobody called and a man showed up at 12pm. He came in and the problem has resolved itself. He changed a fuse, spent about 20 minutes here and left. We were charged £200! We tried to complain to the customer service team, she was unable to acknowledge the problem, couldn't see out perspective and it was shambles.
I am now going to write a complaint letter as i feel we have been wronged by such an unproffesional service.
Theyve also lied on their website saying that trust pilot is giving them 5 stars. Its only 1 star on here!

SCAM SCAM SCAM

SCAM SCAM SCAM.
Wanted £2,000 for a work that was done by another company for £400. Charged us £150 for a quote that should have been free (they were in our house five minutes). DO NOT TRUST.

over-charges and a shoddy unprofessional job

Booked to have a boiler valve replaced.
1. They quoted about £100, charged us almost £300
2. After the guy left, there was a leak, which we didn't discover until a month later and tons of bedding was mouldy because it was in an airing cupboard
3. Same guy comes back to fix it, says to call him if it's still leaking.
4. Leak persists, guy comes back a few day later to fix it 'properly'.
5. Next day, there's no hot water and the leak is still present.

I would give them no stars if I could

I would give them no stars if I could. We've had no electricity all day and have waited for their promised electrician to come. Gets later and later and they keep saying they're coming. At 6.30pm they say they never had anyone.

Ignore the 5* Trustpilot review on…

Ignore the 5* Trustpilot review on their website!

As you can see, it's not representative of people's experience. Called for an electrician and was told they'd be there on the same day, they then called to say it had to be shifted to the next day (fair enough). We were told the electrician would be in touch to arrange a time as we could only accommodate in the morning. We never received a call so we called back ERG Electrics and were told the electrician would be around between 9am and 12pm.

We waited around and they still hadn't shown up. We called up to cancel and were told to use the chat. The chat window said they need to access our data in order to continue. We then canceled and received no apology or offer for discount. Dodgy as anything, AVOID.

Wished I had read these reviews

Wished I had read these reviews, called as an emergency for my elderly neighbour whose electric had tripped in storms. Rude electrician, no manners, quoted diagnosis for work that wasn’t required at twice the price & left without fixing the problem. Charged for an hour £150 for nothing. Fortunate to get away with that!

If I could give them zero stars

If I could give them zero stars, I would. Please do not waste your time with this company. They are a joke. We rang them at 11.00 am requesting an electrician. They said they would have one with us at lunchtime. In spite of various phone calls during the day where they were promising that we would have an electrician any time now, at 4.00 pm they said that the electrician had broken down on the way to us. Absolute jokers. Unfortunately they took a credit card number from us when we booked the call, so I am concerned about that.

Rogue Traders

Please please do not use this company. They are Rogue Traders and have been featured on the programme of the same name.
Watch the you tube review Called "Rogue Traders-Emergency Response Group. I wasn't able to post the link on here.

This is exactly what happened to my elderly parents, and they are now nearly £400 out of pocket. To cut a very long story short I have been trying to get ERG to issue my parents with a refund after one of their engineers unnecessarily cut some wires which serviced 4 plugs and a security light. (They worked perfectly well before he touched them.) He was called out just to check that a blown fuse hadn't caused any damage. (It hadn't and he confirmed this) He was there for 10 minutes and my parents were charged £200. This isn't my beef, the problem is that this engineer has denied cutting these wires (even though my dad stood and watched him doing it) and because ERG are saying that they believe this engineer and not my parents, they are refusing to reimburse them the cost of putting this right. This is criminal damage. An electrician who we called out later confirmed that these wires had been unnecessarily cut, and the only reason he could think of why this had been done was to steal the copper from the wire that the electrician took away with him. I have tried to reason with ERG to ask why they think my parents would go to such lengths to cause themselves so much bother! They do not have the tools, know how or stupidity to just randomly hack away at electrics in their house. ERG are not interested. The customer service team (once you eventually get through to them) are polite and friendly but use persistent delay tactics and are employed it seems specifically to sit and nod their heads and actually do nothing to help your cause. They had absolutely no intention of putting this right from the very start of my complaint and will dodge your questions at every given opportunity. They also do not return your calls and say that they haven't received your emails. I will be taking this to trading standards and the small claims court, which I'm guessing won't be worth the bother, ERG are well aware of this and this is clearly how they rake the cash in. Sadly for them I will pursue this until I get a positive outcome. Please look at all the other rubbish reviews, (there are many hidden under the different trades) e.g ERG Plumbing and please go somewhere else and use a reputable, honest company who actually give a s**t about customer service/satisfaction.

I would use no stars if I could

I would use no stars if I could. Avoid this company at all costs. It is a bunch of crooks. We called them in to replace a broken shower switch. Apparently the switch was burnt out and their contractor replaced it. He said there was a stray wire which he had made safe because he didn't know where it was meant to go. He joked "Something might not work," It was no joke; the fan attached to the shower switch did not work. Because there was a power cut when the electrician finished his work, he was not able to demonstrate the shower functioning.

We called ERG and told then what had happened. They sent another contractor who rectified the work and put the switch back together. The stray wire was the fan connection.

It didn't end there. The cowboys insisted on raising this as a new job and charged us again. One of their number has confirmed that this is so but seems very reluctant to reimburse us. It seems they would rather take the opportunity to rob two OAPs. The claim is ongoing.

Rip offs! CON ARTISTS

I just wish i had read reviews of this rip off outfit before i rang them to wire in my new electric cooker. I was quoted £119 plus the price of the cable used, but i ended up paying £170 wich was more than my cooker cost. I also felt the electrician was sly by delibratly dragging the job out to go over the 1 hour time, to get more money. UPDATE!!!!.....not long after i posted this £475.20 debited from my bank account by same company so TOTAL COST Of wiring in cooker= £647
Dealing with this tomorrow.

I cancelled the job. Luckily I didn’t pay the £175 per hour fee In the end. Look like a bunch of cowboys
