Very poor
Very poor. We were told an electrician would be with us between 9 & 5. As it was quite a big job, we rang at 3:30 to see how far off the electrician was, only to be told they had rung us as 9am to cancel the job! They had 3 numbers to call and none were called! They lied. Having read all the reviews I think they did us a favour.
Avoid this firm.
Would not advise anyone to use this company. After initially ringing, I waited in for two days only for them to ring twice and cancel. Not even an apology was offered. Very disappointing service. BEWARE!
this bad company
I use this company do cook they come in look at two cook said make call they went to van didt come back just drove off didt do any work now chaged me 117 for nothing they didt come say why could carry out work
I was only told today why could carry out work some about safe and
don't use this company very bad
wont even give a star no star
I curse myself for using this crew
I curse myself for giving in to impatience when our usual electrician was busy following the Covid pandemic. I knew the hourly rate was extremely high but this was doubled because the electrician wasted time by ordering the wrong piece of kit - a simple bathroom extractor fan and the price charged was extortionate. This company rips off money by doing very little and by charging far more thsn the true cost of the local workmen and kit they commission. AVOID. AVOID.
Dread company. …
If possible I would give no stars as the company is a complete joke. Avoid this company at all costs. We only wanted a double socket in our kitchen replaced and rewired. There was nothing wrong with the wiring at all just that one of the switches in the old socket wouldn’t switch off. We had bought a new socket and the electrician came and rewired this new socket. IT TOOK HIM 15 MINUTES. And we have been charged £150. This is extortionate. I know they quoted us this price but one would assume that the price would have been adjusted to how long the electrician was here and what he did. The electrician who did the job ( subcontractor) was great and very professional which is more than can be said for ERG Electrics. Will never use thus company and recommend them again .
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I have just been charged £400 for an incompetent electrician to not find a fault. He literally did nothing and left. The next day i've been charged this! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Please be advised
Please be advised. AVOID this dealer at all costs !!!.
They will lie, fabricate diagnoses, fail to respond to phone calls or complaints. Then they will take money from your acount when they have done absolutely no work. Further details will be posted later.
Avoid at all costs

RIP OFF company!
In desperation I rang this company and no local electrician was answering their phone. Friendly man on the phone told me the price upfront, £150 per hour. I stupidly agreed to this and gave my bank details over the phone, biggest mistake I’ve ever made and feel such a fool for getting scammed. I went online and looked up the reviews, terrible reviews all over the internet of their poor service and extreme costs. I decided to cancel my bank card immediately and the appointment. However, I am still liable for full payment if they have not already charged me and will likely get a threatening letter in the post.
The cost up front is £125 + VAT so total of £150 for a call out FEE. Not the work itself, so it’s a good job I cancelled or it would have cost me more in the long run.
Let down customer
When you want an emergency electrician and they want to charge £175 per hr + vat you would have thought they wouldn’t let you down. We got that wrong. Called them 17.48 and they said an electrician would be with us by 20.30. Called at 20.00 and asked what availability we’d have for the next day as they couldn’t promise they’d make it that night. So disappointed and really hate bad customer service especially at such a premium cost. We’ll find a more reliable and more reasonable one tomorrow 😡
Booked a 9-12 they then phoned to say…
Booked a 9-12 they then phoned to say running late won't be there till 5pm then phoned at 4.30pm to say won't now be coming earliest they can do is Monday. JOKE. Hugely unreliable. Will never use again.
ROBBING B***ARDS
ROBBING B***TARDS!!!
Been a few month since I used this company already have 1 review thought I would update because it still boils my p*ss knowing iv been robbed. Asked if I could get two double sockets fitted over the phone was quoted £125. Still on the steep side but needed it done desperately. So bloke came and changed an existing single socket to a double. Then he seen the position of the bed. So he told my partner he would have to move the bed lift up floorboard. 'didn't want to do it' really. So few days go by and im thinking ow well he only done one socket so it should only have been about 60 quid. To my sock I checked my online banking and had been charged £165 to change a single socket to a double. Day light robery. Complained didn't get very far. They keep it quite that its £125 pound and hour labour
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
Avoid at all costs
Spent an hour ringing round for an emergency electrician. Finally Erg answered. Promised an electrician by 8:30pm, 8pm phone call to say none available. Booked again for following day, guess what, time came and another call to say no one available. 2 days wasted without power. Probably not the call handlers fault but told them where to stick it. If you can't take on work just say so, at least your being honest.
Company claims to have a 5 star trust pilot rating!!!!! Wish i'd double checked here first. Wouldn't go anywhere near this company.
I used ERG December 19
I used ERG December 19. The engineer turned up when promised but stated my consumer unit was not up to current regs and left. I am so frustrated because I know re wire fuses are old but are conformant to BS 7671 which still allows for this type of fuse. I got bullied into paying the call out charge and although I plan on taking this further want to make sure no one else every uses this company.
Got another local company in and they did the work safely and have good advice. My advice please do not use erg
Called them was told no call out fee…
Called them was told no call out fee but would charge £125.00 or part of hour was charged £150.00 for 15 minutes and job not completed I had to go out to buy a light bulb. Thought I would be charged approx. £40.00 for 15 minutes. As a pensioner its cost me a weeks pension. Never ever use them feel I have been conned.
Needed an electrician quickly.
I needed an electrician quickly to disconnect my faulty house alarm which was deafening the neighbourhood and ERG said they could have someone out within 90 mins, obviously at extra cost. The electrician was delayed by another job and traffic so just outside the 90 mins, but ERG still charged the full call-out fee of £174.
The tradesman was a lovely, very professional and sorted the job out in a timely fashion.
The 5* rating that ERG give themselves does not represent what is on Trustpilot and should be amended. I probably won't use them again due to this and the price!
Lying cowboys
Contacted them after seeing on their website 5 star trust pilot rating. No electrician turned up. Contacted them numerous times as we were without heating and hot water but despite their promises nobody turned up. Waited for over 24 hours then cancelled them along with the bank card used to book the non existant visit. When i looked on this site their rating was 1 star so they are clearly lying . They are nothing more than a bunch of lying cowboys preying in vulnerable people
Do not use this company It’s a total…
Do not use this company It’s a total con they basically charge £198 for making a phone call for an Electrican to attend your property then he could not fix it till the next day then will charge you another £198 plus for the part you need plus vat felt truly con they should have a warning ⚠️ take advantage of people I would rate them no stars it’s something you can do yourself so mad I’ve been conned and misrepresented don’t call them !!!!
Avoid at all costs.
Avoid at all costs.
After having been "guaranteed" an electrician for same day call out, I was phoned an hour before they were due to say that the had exhausted all their resources and no one could attend. Save yourself the time and breath phoning them as they are woeful. Unfortunetaly I wasnt able to give them no stars, but would have if I could.
Expensive and vague
We were very unhappy. In the main because they are very vague, that ambiguity then serves as a defence and it is costly. We arranged for their engineer to come out to do a job, based on a labour only cost given on the phone. I have no issue with that. What I did have an issue with was handing over card details in advance. I raised this as a concern and suggested that if parts came to some horrendous amount I would want to cancel and was told I could. They came, expensive but then I am told I still have to pay for 1 hour at almost £200!!! When I raise this with them they say that it is not a call out charge, they don’t have them, it is because they came and assessed the job. I said that I had made it clear that I was concerned about paying for a job without knowing all the costs and was told that they are under no obligation to tell me I will be charged for the first hour and that they are an “emergency service”. I never asked for an emergency service, just been on their website again and it does not say that they are and then not helped when you find out they are nothing more than brokers who double the rate of the engineer. So now I am £200 down, the job did not get done because we cancelled.
Ask them to be clear. Ask them if you will have to pay regardless of whether the job goes ahead or not.
We would never use them. Certainly not when being vague seems to be acceptable
