Stay away from this Company
The engineer arrived to my house on the established time and assessed the gas boiler. The outcome of his assessment was that the pressure sensor for the gas boiler needs replacing. The assessment for the boiler took 15 minutes and the engineer inform me that we will receive the quotation from them office to finish the work. The quotation was £ 639.00 including VAT, for 2 hours work and the pressure sensor (parts and labour). The pressure sensor on Internet for my boiler is not more than £ 30.00-40.00 and the 2 hours labour is £ 155.00 x 2 = £ 310.00. From where them calculations on the quotation was coming up with £. 532.50 + VAT = £ 639.00, I DON'T KNOW?... Poor Maths knowledge or just want to rip off people's money.
Be aware when you need to contact this company. They are asking for your Bank card details in the beginning and even for 15 minutes work they charged me £ 155.00 plus VAT. Absolutely disgusting.

Emergency plumbing situation needed to be done same day and it was. The plumber arrived within the time slot, surveyed the situation and then fixed it. Very happy.
Bunch of crooks…
This bunch of crooks are a call centre and have no engineers of their own as advertised or at all. They take debit card details “to fix appointment” then take money for no work. Sent me a bloke from 1.5 hours away with the wrong qualification ticket after 10 days without hot water.
Just successfully sued them for return of £222 taken from my account for nothing. Court awarded me £546.
They pay people for good reviews so Beware.

Pleased with Wasp nest treatment.
I was able to book a visit for the next day to deal with a wasp nest I thought was in my loft. It turned out to be behind a ventilation tile but by using powder the pest controller was able to treat the nest and kill the wasps.
He was on time, pleasant and efficient.
Plumber needed urgently to stop a leak of unknown origin.
I needed a plumber urgently to investigate and fix a drip within the boxing of the soil pipe in the corner of my mother-in-laws hallway. The boxing was damp and the hallway carpet sodden. I'd established there was a continual drip but had no idea from where.
I tried several local plumbers without success. I'm dubious of the free-phone companies that kept coming up but, partly in desperation, decided to try ERG.
The phone was answered promptly, the details of the issue taken. I was told the cost (per hour + VAT) and that any parts would be extra. They confirmed they could provide a plumber who would arrive by 1330.
At 1330 no plumber BUT I got a call from ERG to apologise that he was late and he would be there within 5 minutes - which he was.
He needed to cut a hole in the boxing to investigate the drip and explained that they did not 'make good' as part of their job. I was expecting this so told him to proceed. He found where the drip was coming from (where the drain pipe from the sink in the upstairs bathroom connects into the soil pipe) and proceeded to repair this. It was in a difficult palce to access, right in the corner of the bathroom and he needed to removed some tiles to access the connector; he got them all off without damaging them.
Having fixed the leak he tidied up before he left.
A few hours later I received a receipt for the charge for the work. He was on site for one-and-a-bit hours so charged for 2, as, expected.
I'm happy with the outcome; leak fixed at a cost I was expecting so I would certainly consider using ERG again.
However 4 stars as they say on the website 'very competitive local rates'. The rate I paid was more than double the rate I pay my normal plumbers (who were unable to attend that day). They told me the rate up front and I was happy to pay as the work needed doing that day, but their rates are not 'competitive'.
I booked for an engineer to come out…
I booked for an engineer to come out from ERG to look at a fault on my boiler, I was told it would be between 8.00 and 12.00 and that the engineer would contact me half hour before arriving so that I could come out of work. On the day of the visit my boss told me to wait at home and it was a good job as there was no telephone contact and the engineer just turned up and on asking they said that they were not given my number and that this happens all the time.
So if I had not been in and no way of the engineer contacting me would this have been classed as a missed visit/cancellation and would I have been charged ?
Another thing I did not know on booking that ERG are just a booking service and sub let jobs out to numerous plumbers/engineers on their books and that ERG charge more than £100 for the service that the actual engineer would charge.
Lesson learned and will pass this information around to my friends and family and also put up a note at my place of work.

Fraudulently charged for hours when the tradesman was not even on site, also over charged for material costs, on request of receipts they refunded and admitted this.
This company are a complete rip off and just earn money by over charging by the hour work, they go out of their way to ensure the maximum hours are charged, they also take card details upfront and payment prior to works being checked and signed off by the customer as acceptable, this gives the customer zero protection if the work or bill is incorrect.
We are taking this company to court and advise all to steer clear.
Prompt professional
Plumber arrived within a couple of hours of first phone call. Needed a part which he went and got. Found a couple of other things that needed replacing all done no fuss. Returned promptly when minor leak from toilet overflow developed, fixed.

Terrible customer service
We had heard noises in the roof and called ERG to investigate. They were very helpful on the phone and booked an appointment within a couple of days….which they failed to turn up for. Once I called having stayed in for 4 hours someone came 2 hours later. He said he’d be back for a follow up 2 weeks later and again didn’t show. I’ve sent numerous emails and am still waiting after another 2 weeks with no contact from ERG!
Staff polite
I found the electrician was very polite, friendly, thorough and solved the issues. I am however disappointed that although I'd booked him in to arrive between 12 and 4 that day, I later had a phone call from the company after the allotted time to inform me, it would be the following morning. The lady agent was apologetic.

Outside stopcock would not turn on, stuck.
Rang ERG Facilities to get a Plumber if possible.
Two hours later, plumber turns up, looks at it, says Northumbrian Waters job that is.
I dont even live in the Area, I was visiting my Father in Hospital.
No physical work done, just advice, glad he did not do anything else.
£155.00 per Hour plus vat for WORK, not advice.
So my Father had to pay this, so be very, very careful of this company.
They have a Force Majure in place to cover them, so they are covered, clever people they are.
