Connells Wolverhampton

Connells Wolverhampton: Terrible experience, they are SCAMMERS! Be aware of contract they will make you sign a 26 WEEK sole agency agreement WITHOUT stating it very clear. Bad communication, not even offer to put a sign up, viewings are not controlled or checked if customers can afford to pay for the house they are viewing, anyone will be viewing your house just for fun, and goes on and on....

Connells Watford

Connells Watford. DISGUSTING COMPANY. Dire staff, including those in charge. Promise the earth, don’t deliver…. Expect nothing from them except laziness and lies. Rude, obnoxious, clueless staff. I can’t believe they are allowed to operate as a company.
Expect greater communication from a brick. . . The last 4 years of my life have been hell due to the way the staff there have treated us. I can only hope that their ineptitude can be fixed at some point in their lives. Very disappointing service and staff. My 2 year old could run a business better . Avoid .

West Malling Branch

Connells is probably the worst, undignified estate agents out there. They have no morals, unprofessional and are fake. We had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with them for several months. They were useless. They were completely dishonest and flat out lied to us on a number of occasions. We actually put in a formal complaint, for it to be brushed under the carpet by their “area manager”. It basically said oh well though and was full of false information and lies. Funnily enough they never replied to our response. Never use Connells, they do not treat people as human beings, they see you as just some profit. They do not care about peoples lives and livelihood. We lost thousands and it caused us mental stress. They blamed it on “that’s just how England buying/selling is”. Which is a load of nonsense. They were also sneaky in that they never replied to emails as they clearly didn’t want written proof of their failings. They didn’t respond to anything anyway mind you. We dealt the “branch manager” as they were so useless it got escalated to him and he was actually worse. He flat out lied countless times, gave false information and 100% was a factor in our chain being destroyed. His name was Jay S. Please avoid West Malling Connells, or better yet, avoid Connells all together.

Avoid like the plague if you want your house sale to go smoothly and be kept upto date.if I could give no stars I would
The staff are inexperience and have no interest once you have signed their contract.they recommend using Talbot solicitors stating then they can ensure the sake goes smoothly. They also omitted to say they get nearly 500 commission and the price you pay Talbots is 500 over the average cost!
After 3 months of no progress, once we agreed a sale we changed solicitor and the difference was amazing. The sale was finally completed but no thanks to Connells who never return calls, e mails unless chased and definitely do not deserve the high commission they charge.
Don’t use!

One * allows a review post. The rating for Connells Kings Heath branch is -5*.
Property was overvalued to cinch the business for them. Otherwise why where we told not to challenge the buyers surveyors lower valuation.

Why were 4 revisions needed to the property description after we contacted them.

Why did they try to foist their linked solicitor on us despite being told from Day 1 a solicitor had already been appointed.

Why was a lazy mistake made in the memorandum of sale.

Why where we not informed that two consecutive lead sales negotiators had left.

Why was our sale an 'orphan' with no one taking responsibility. The branch was unaware of the completion date, otherwise why did we have to contact them regarding key collection.

At every stage we had to chase the branch to keep the sale moving. Does Connells not have a PROACTIVE or MONITORING policy.

Connells for us, if the term can be used were NOT VALUE FOR MONEY.

Think again before you go with Connells

I recently sold a house through Connells Hinckley Branch. At the start I had a really convincing and plausible sales manager who gave a good pitch. Sadly, that is as good as it got.
When the marketing information was finally shared with me (later than promised), it was full of inaccuracies. The website advertising was taken down for a whole week, and Connells were not even aware of it. Telephone calls were never returned and e-mails not being answered was the norm. It got to the point that the only way I could find out how things were progressing with the sale was to cut Connells out and deal directly with my Buyers. I expect that I'd still be waiting to exchange contracts otherwise. The service was that bad so I made a formal complaint - the response received from the area/regional director felt dismissive, as though my expectations in terms of what good customer service is (even getting the basics right) were set too high. That experience make me think it's a culture of the business, rather than an isolated one off at a local branch. Fees were originally agreed at 1.5%, but were negotiated down to 1% because of how badly they were managing my sale. Even at 1%, I did not get value for money.
Buying and selling homes is one of the most stressful life events so you'd expect a long established company to help you along that path rather than hinder. My advice to anybody considering Connells, think again, there are much better estate agents out there.

Rude

We were trying to buy through Connells. They were keen to protect their seller’s interests so much that one of their agents in Taunton called me and was incredibly rude and said, several times, that the fault lay with our solicitor. I had to point out that not only were the delays caused by the seller’s solicitor but ours had been recommended by Connells; so they were criticising their own partners. Have zero understanding of how to manage the process or build relationships. Thankfully we are cash buyers and would never recommend this company. I am astonished to read the numerous bad reviews on here so I must be grateful for a lucky escape!

Very unprofessional and not nice to talk to. I came across to them about a property for sale. They made mistakes 2 times and when I called them they were so rude . It’s not just one person almost every person who works there was really really rude and loud.

In our experience they were only interested in money. We wish we had realised sooner. They seem completely disinterested in helping potential buyers. We were told this by a potential buyer that returned to our property after their initial viewing. We quickly realised we needed to make a change

Let’s be honest they’re an utter mess…

Let’s be honest they’re an utter mess of an agent and one star is too much. Incompetent staff that hang up on you when you call for updates and ignore emails, it is all just very frustrating. The minute I am out of contract I’ll be going to CJ Hole or Andrews, anyone but them!

Connells are honestly atrocious

Connells are honestly atrocious. They insisted we use their in-house mortgage advisor (pressuring that the sellers would want that and other buyers were interested if not) and subsequently found out that action was illegal.

Their poor communication and lack of professionalism was astonishing, we would need to chase every step after not hearing anything for days to then be told someone will get back to you. Even our solicitors were fed up with them especially "forgetting" to send the proper documentation through to them. Use anyone else please, you will save the stress of dealing with incompetence.

Icing on the cake being their customer services team rang to ask about our experience. We said it could have been a lot easier, in which they responded "would you like to make a complaint" and being too polite for our own good responded, "we weren't too sure... we weren't happy with how"...then they just hung up on us. Brilliant.

Needs Customer Service Lessons

After reading other reviews, I'm pretty sure I've had a lucky escape.
I called the Wednesbury Branch as I wanted to make an appointment for a general chat; after being taken through 'Security' that would be comparable to the security measures a Fort Knox, the person I spoke with didn't listen to me and was obviously following a process rather than engaging in a conversation.

'Computer say no?'; human being say 'No thank you Connells!'

Good all round experience from the…

Good all round experience from the Ipswich office. Needed to sell my parent's house quickly to fund their nursing care. From the instruction to sell to completion was less than 4 months. Ok, so we didn't have a chain involved but the staff at Connells helped the process along and kept in touch with the solicitors for both sides to ensure all went smoothly Highly recommended. (Special thanks to Barry and Calum.)

Probably the worst estate agents ever ever ever oin my life so far as a property investor i have bought and sold over 50 properties but never ever have i come across such a shambles of a company,took over 1 year to complete a no chain sale on a flat.
lied to numerous times by staff,unproffesional does not even cut it they should never be in business

Connells - Unprofessional - Byeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

C onnel ls - Kent branch run by Rob Coleman and one of his mobs shops in Rainham wasted 8 weeks of my time earlier this year with remit to sell our house in Chatham Kent that is a hub of activity now from those fleeing London and where supply and demand for properties is crazy.

Connells (90% bad) - wasted my cooling off period, provided 2 viewings (perhaps because the others they said were coming did not want their poor mortgages (linking/conditional) when they confirmed, hence they cancelled them - I have heard a lot about their practices)...

They could not sell anything in Medway towns or their affiliated different brands... (debt ridden group of company) Look at the signs in the street or their website which looks like a 12 year old did it as part of their computer awareness course at secondary school.

AVOID these clowns.

I went with another agent after I fired these morons and we sold our property the very first time we had a block viewing, i.e. we picked a professional who is motivated.

Connells thanks for letting us see the light ... others this is my experience... If you go with Connells look forward to a good chance you will be sitting in the 90% that think they are bad... Wonder where that 10% came from !!!!!!
