Unprofessional
Connells in Walnut Tree, Milton Keynes.
Marketing a flat for sale that’s a shared ownership without authorisation from the majority shareholder, the housing association. Housing association insist on a RICS valuation that they instruct and they have the right to sell it for a determined time at that price before allowing it to be sold on the open market. Aaisha told me RICS valuation had been done and I asked if she had seen a copy and she said yes. That’s funny because when I checked with the housing association that very morning, they weren’t even aware it was for sale and said it’s being marketed for considerably more than the asking price (determined by RICS valuations) of 2 flats identical in the next block on the same road and that is not acceptable to them. I put this to Aaisha and she continued to stick to her story saying this is incorrect.
To add insult to injury, Aaisha and Victoria continued to give false information even what was included in the £5k premium. It turns out none of the modifications claimed to have been done had. All original features including the lino and carpets when it was built 11 years ago. The purchaser is expected to pay this pricely sum for a sofa the vendor can’t get out of the flat without an external lift as too large and a second hand hob. Even when faced with the truth they continued to deny the facts. Both Aaisha and Victoria haven’t a scooby, are unprofessional and rude. Buyers beware!
Connells in Crawley are the worst…
Connells in Crawley are the worst estate agents, period. Give misled information. Poor customer service. Very unprofessional. Will be forever in my mind because made me lose what we think it was our forever home. Avoid them or you will get disappointed somehow.
AVOID AT ANY COST
the worst customer service I've ever had to deal with.
have had to approach a solicitor to get answers from them.
they failed to comply with the agreement about getting the contract on time.
they use teenagers as employees and that's one of the worst thing to deal with. they chase you by phone, email, even WhatsApp till they get the holding fee. then they just disappear and you turn chasing them for an answer.
Dori, Shennay and other teenagers working in Birmingham's office have no clue how serious is for someone to get a place to stay.
they won't give you an update. and whenever and IF you catch them on phone they say 'I was about to do it now'. this company is just a JOKE
Aylesbury Agents
Agents at Aylesbury do cut & paste jobs, smarmy & hard selling. I’ve asked for my details to be removed from their database & I'm still getting cold calls from them months later. In breach of GDPR I suspect. Do not use this company
Really Really bad service
Really Really bad service!
Before I sign the agreement ,I have had asked about the flat if have any problems how to contact/ how to solve , but when you started the agreement date on 29/12/2021 ,I received the inventory report and I have checked by myself, the flat really need professional cleaning especially the kitchen, but from 28/12/2021 until now 11/1/2022 , no one reply me any update ! What a shame!!
Connells suck!
I had the misfortune of having to buy a property through the Gillingham branch in Dorset which is run by two young brothers who have absolutely no idea what they’re doing. I have never dealt with a company like this before. I had NO updates, they wouldn’t return phone calls or emails throughout the process. Their attitude sucks, and they pushed us right at the last minute to authorise exchange when our conveyancer had advised us of a late issue that needed sorting out. Communication is key and these guys have none. AVOID!
Do not use this company
Please, do not use this company, they are truly awful, i had the misfortune to deal with the Hereford branch. Their female mortgage broker is a bully and bad at her job. Took them forever to get anything done and i ended up having to chase. Started the process in February, didn't get the keys until July

Sold two houses with them this year in the Swindon area- never again! Terrible service and please don’t ever get convinced it’s a good idea to go with their solicitors Kirkstalls.. it will be the worst mistake you make!! Both properties we sold had no chain either side and took 5/6 months to complete. It was a nightmare! Mistakes from Connells/Kirkstalls from start to finish!

Sold a property through their Melton…
Sold a property through their Melton branch over 1 year ago they recommended Premier Property Lawyers for the sale the buyer was recommended DC Law its been over 1 year and still not completed the sale keep making excuses for both firms as they are all part of the same group each time I request a call from area manager or from the solicitors they say they will chase it up and get back to us. Look at their reviews on trustpilot terrible !!!
Avoid this estate agent and all their partners agencies across the group !!!

Connells Plympton branch sold my…
Connells Plympton branch sold my property for me. I have no complaints. They were efficient, approachable and dealt with any issues promptly. Lewis in particular was brilliant. I would use them again.
thinking of reaching out to Connells…
thinking of reaching out to Connells don't do it just don't do it ! they get your details on to their data base your life will be a misery with calls and emails from slimly estate agents with an oily grin and poor fitting suits ,that promise with their snake tongues on their children's death bed they will remove your details from their data base and guess what ..... your correct they get a new starter to ring you up and harass. it got to be some sort of new employee induction game that should of got banned in the 70s and it goes on for months and months despite writing emailing phoning to get your data which is your private details from their data base . if that is what you from an estate agent then go ahead get harrassed .
90% of reviews can't be wrong....
- Saw a property and 2 days later (Monday) made an offer only £1000 below advertised price, with the understanding that if it was declined they would come back and we'd review.
- On making the offer I was told that I needed to speak to someone about whether I could afford the offer. I explained that I had plans in place and a broker who was acting on my behalf and I wouldn't be using their services therefore, it wouldn't be beneficial. I am aware that I have no issue with obtaining a mortgage. However, they like to people to speak to someone "about whether they can afford the offer they are making".
- No news about my offer and what the vendor had said that day.
- Next day call for appt with someone about affording my offer. I explained that I wouldn't be needing their services. Was advised that he was a mortgage advisor and what my broker had told me wasn't true about a decision in principle affecting my credit score. Wanted the name of my broker. Also wanted some information as other people making offers had provided information so their offers may be accepted above mine. I refused to give any information as I didn't want or need their services and wasn't going to open up to them saying they were acting on behalf and charging me. I also wondered why a mortgage advisor who wasn't acting for me would be liaising with the vendor when my offer was to the agent.
- Next day (Wednesday) no information received regarding offer. Called office. They said they hadn't heard back from vendor as she was viewing offers - however, without me saying my name or details they knew the price of my offer and who I was - surprising when they had so many offers. They did say, however, that the vendor has asked them to get final offers and if I wished to increase (even though my original offer hadn't been declined). Suffice to say I didn't increase it.
- As I felt there was something not quite right with what I was being told, and I'd met the neighbour at the property, On Thursday, I posted a note through his door asking if he was still in contact with the vendor to pass my number on so I could ascertain if the offer had been put forward and that I was receiving the correct feedback from the agent. As you can see I was very keen to progress with the sale of this property.
- Unfortunately vendor passed my note onto the agent. I did question in the note whether my offer was put forward. No contact from Vendor, just a telephone message from the branch on Saturday to say that they were in receipt of my letter to the vendor and they had passed on my offer on Monday as they have to, by law, within 24 hours. However, the vendor had now accepted another offer, but should they need to contact me again they would. Even though I'd asked them to liaise with me regarding my offer was declined and whether I would want to increase, at that point.
- It is now the following Thursday and the house is still being advertised for sale at the same price.
After reading all the other reviews about this company, it appears that my situation isn't a one off and my hunches about things not being quite right were true and still are. Unfortunately the vendor chose to put the agent in charge of liaising with me about my note. The vendor could have been heading towards a completed sale now as I was very keen to buy the property and have nothing stopping me doing so apart from the barriers put up by the agent.
A very unfortunate situation and unnecessarily stressful. Think before you use them - read all the reviews and then decide.
Absolutely awful estate agents in…
Absolutely awful estate agents in Basingstoke. Everyone I speak to about them says exactly the same. I’m surprised they’re still trading. Just the worst.
Connells Corby - incompetent & ethically questionable practice
Connells Corby were dreadful. Two house sales fallen through and multiple missed opportunities due to the nature of their practice. There is significant conflict of interest as they would only permit viewings for buyers willing to use their recommended mortgage advisors and solicitors - as obviously there is commission involved. We know this was the case as we had a neighbour whose relative wanted to view the property but was not permitted a viewing by Connells.
On the second sale (first having fallen through) 12 weeks after offer accepted there appeared to be no progress. My husband was having to chase everyone, despite Connells charging a hefty fee to sell the house. Multiple phone calls to Connells and promises from them that they would ring back all of which did not happen and it transpired that the memorandum of sale (the first step in the process) had not been received by the buyers solicitors. No one from Connells had checked or chased this despite my husband ringing them multiple times asking about progress. Each time Connells stated it was the vendor being “laid back” that was causing delays, but in reality they had just not done their basic job.
Even when my husband rang them about this they lied about what had gone wrong trying to deflect the blame and even tried to blame my husband and our solicitors.
Eventually after another failure of Connells to respond despite promising to return a call we pulled the house from the sale and have taken our business elsewhere. The thought of paying them over £3000 for such terrible and incompetent service, especially when my husband effectively did all of the work himself makes my blood boil! They are a terrible service, terrible customer care and a ethically questionable approach to practice with significant conflicts of interest. Stay clear of this estate agents!
Absolutely shocking service
Absolutely shocking service. Very happy to call continually whilst trying to secure an offer but following that they are impossible to speak to. Calls rarely returned, and apparently unable to chase the conveyancers that they recommended - shame on you Connells for recommending Premier Property Lawyers when you know how poor they are - clearly the commission you receive from them is more important to you than customer service. Absolutely shocking and I would never recommend Connells to anyone.
DISAPPOINTED
I made an enquiry as to whether 2 properties advertised were available to view. I was told they both were but the agent said he was on his way out and would call me tomorrow discuss and arrange date to view.
It is now tomorrow... The day of the promised call.. It is nearly 10pm so the agent is now closed. I did not receive the promised call... I. Am glad I am the buyer and not the seller......
I have chased the company and now will wait to see if they contact me...
Terrible service and communication from Taunton branch
I tried to contact Connells in Taunton to get an answer for my daughter who had applied for a rental flat but hadn’t heard from them for over a week. I eventually managed to get hold of the agent in question who said the landlord was messing them about but he would chase and get back to me. Didn’t hear anything for two weeks and then eventually he came back to say that he had been in a different branch ( maybe they didn’t have a phone?!) so that’s why he hadn’t called back but the landlord had now let to someone else. Terrible service and would not even contemplate using them even if the property was amazing.
Avoid at all costs
Absolutely no idea how they are still in business. Diabolicle service. Called on Saturday and asked if it was possible for a viewing the next day, I was told yes 5.15pm. The following day I made the hour long journey to the property that I was interested in and no one showed up. The office was closed so I rung the next morning and was told that they don't do any viewings on Sundays so I should never have been given an appointment. I asked for another appointment that evening and was told that there was one available at 5.45pm but that my details needed to be taken (even though I had given everything but my bra size on Saturday) but that they couldn't take my details because they needed to attend a meeting. They said they would call back at 10am. At 11am after not hearing anything from them I called again and was told that there were no appointments available so I questioned what I had been told about one at 5.45pm and suddenly that was available. I attended the viewing which was rushed and virtually non of my questions could be answered, down to the simplest like the EPC rating. I was told that I would get a call the next day with the answers to my questions and to hear my offer. No phone call was ever received. I will never consider buying any properties that are marketed by connells.
