I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY…

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!

We have moved out of a property we where renting through them 7 weeks ago and they still haven’t returned our deposit, I’ve called them so many times chasing about it and all they do is say they need to contact the landlord about it, they are so unprofessional they keep transferring me back and forth to different departments trying to avoid dealing with me, this is not the first time they have done this to us I am so glad that we decided to get away from them this time around but having to still be dealing with them is nothing but a lot of unwanted stress I didn’t even want to give them one star this company is such a joke the staff are so unhelpful.

If you can stay away from them!!!

Blackmailed by Connells estate agents

We put in an offer 5% above the asking price on a property. Connells managed to convince the seller, who was elderly, that someone using their own inhouse mortgage services and their recommended solicitor would be the "path of least resistance". The elderly vendor was therefore persuaded to state that he would not accept our offer (despite it being the highest offer available) unless we went through Connells. We refused to be blackmailed into using their service and did not proceed. Now they have cost their customer what we reckon to be in the order of £7000 through their despicable tactics.
An absolute disgrace. If you are enquiring about a property and they offer you "mortgage advice", firmly refuse.

horrific

Already left a review titled horrific a month back. I chased repairs again this morning. They waited until 1729 and sent a email with a fake business qoute for 900 pound and tried to blame me for repairs. Truth is if they fixed bathroom wen reported in 2017 the issues would not have hapoened. They waited til they went home to send email so i couldnt discuss. Awful awful company.

Horrendous service from the Newton…

Horrendous service from the Newton Abbot branch from start to finish….only interested in one thing…££££.
Cannot believe I paid nearly £1400 for the minimal amount of work from them! Avoid at all costs and I urge you to look elsewhere! Dodged calls from me, misinformed me with regards to buyers financial position and overall rubbish customer service. I have given them ample opportunities to rectify all issues but once they had their commission they were not interested in the slightest. Try other local estate agents such as Taylors, Williams Hedge or basically any other estate agent as Connells will 100% leave you dissatisfied!!!!!

Avoid Avoid Avoid! 0 stars!

If I could give a 0 star rating I would.

At the end of 2020 I left my abusive partner and was promised by the Connells agent looking after the property we rented together that he would get me removed from the tenancy as my ex refused to leave the property. They then went back on this promise and have left me financially tied to a man that physically, mentally and emotionally abused me.

My ex demanded he wasn’t going to be made homeless so I had to leave and that he would take on all rent and bills. He has now gone on not to pay any rent since I left and tried to demand I pay it. As you can imagine I have had to find somewhere else to live and can not afford to pay for my abuser to live in a house I (being pregnant) should of been able to stay in.

Connells have continued to ignore any correspondence from me and just let the property go into 4 months of arrears with no efforts to remove my ex from the property.

All I will say about Connells is that you should avoid them as a tenant and even as a landlord. They have no morals and are not interested in anyones circumstances.

Horrific

Horrific

Lived in a property since 2017, repairs continually ignored. 3 times ceiling has collapsed. My belongings destroyed, all my food. Still have no ceiling. Bathroom floor is still raised and leaks. Bath is not repaired and just has plastic siliconed to cover holes. Fences collapsed. Back door not working or secure. All reported and ignored.

Trashed my belongings, broke my bed, bin. Left work uncomplete, dumped rubbish in house snd left 20 bags of rubbish for months in my garden. Broke my hoover, left toilet marks in my toilet.

Landlord issued eviction noticed because i chased repairs, wat else am i supposed to do, live in these conditions????

Falsely accused of doing the damage myself only for 2 inspections to be carried out and proved that its the ignoring and poor work of a contractor.

Despite refusing to do repairs and issueing a section 21 to evict they then ask for more rent over 5% wats suggested.

Every phonecall and email solves nothing. I still live in these conditions. Bullied and harrassed by refusing to do repairs, eviction and demands for more rent.

Stay away from this company. They appear to be interested in only collecting money and have no control or support for tenents. The repairs were serious and my children could have been seriously hurt. Boiler broke and took over a month to repair. I had no heating or wash facilities and this was during xmas time. Words cannot describe how awful this experience is. All evidence will be provided to courts should they persist with eviction. I only hope that I can bank enough to get away from Connells and there treatment of me for good. Dont become a victim of them and stay well away. .

Untrustworthy Valuer

If you are buying a property, make sure that the bank you’re getting a mortgage through doesn’t use this company as a valued- you never know, is the person valuing is having a bad day they might reject the mortgage just because the house is in a main road. Wish I had checked who the bank were using before going with them- and judging by this website I’m not the only person who has had a bad experience. The government say that the country should be helping first time buyers, with this company that is absolutely not the case.

Would give 0 stars if I could

Would give 0 stars if I could, terrible experience renting through Connells in Watford. Place was filthy when we moved in despite a professional clean due to have taken place, check-in report only partially completed, inaccurate electricity and gas readings given to provider, previous tenant left all their old furniture at the property. The rental agent admitted they never checked the property prior to us moving in! Plus issues with the electrical safety check delayed our moving in date, as Cornell’s never arranged a timely electrical inspection ahead of the move in date. So when the safety certificate couldn’t be issued and work needed to be done, we had to make other arrangements at our own expense. Avoid these agents at all costs!!!

Harrow branch waste of space

Useless. Promises of getting back to you, even arrange appointments and then simply no show and no response even when calling back. Harrow branch seem to have no concept of returning calls.

A Big Thank You.

We would like to say a big thank you to David and Mark for all the help they gave us through the selling of our house. They were very efficient and always customer focused. This eased our stress levels and made our move more favourable and we were able to achieve our goal of buying accommodation all on one level.

This is by far the worse lettings…

Connells Hemel Hempstead. This is by far the worse lettings agency I have EVER used. Terrible customer service. They have been extremely inconsiderate, inattentive and unbothered. I have moved out of my apartment almost a month ago and I still haven’t received my deposit, despite several calls. All they have to say is that the concerned agent is unavailable. They are instantaneous when it comes to taking the deposit but start behaving indifferent when they need to return it. They literally do nothing but just repeat one sentence when you call them. Just imagine a company loosely translate their service as “yes we have your money, but you can’t get it right now because we are busy ignoring customer requests”.
If you want to save your time and energy, NEVER go for this agency.

The worst company to contract as a…

The worst company to contract as a Landlord in Ipswich to look after your rental property. Landlords are best to stay clear! Right from the start there were issues with the branch and head office who passed me back and forth between each other trying to blame one another for serious failings by them under their full property management. Staff would not answer the phone in branch or head office when they saw my number. I have been made to feel that I am just a problem Landlord which I am not!
I sacked them and managed the property myself. However I now require the Tenants deposit due to damage to my property and rent arrears and still they will not assist me at local branch level. The tenants have left with serious rent arrears and some damage. I have been informed by the Tenant that Connells found them a new rental property in the next street straight away. If this is the case, the office did not check with myself for a Landlord reference before re-renting to them with another Landlord!
Poor, Poor, Poor and disgusting service provision at all levels and should be investigated by the Ombudsman! Shame on you Connells Ipswich!
Not even one Star.

Like a Police controlled state

Tried to view a house with their subsidiary Fulfords just the one and they asked for my passport, a coucil tax bill etc WHAT for a viewing i mean it was like a police state with all that information, when they could just call my estate agent and ask are they too lazy why do they need to collect all that info on people and what do they do with it is it safe. I understand that when BUYING you need it to counteract money laudering but PLEASE

Dishonest

Dishonest, using deception and varied tactics to discriminate against disability households with the correct income from providing garentour status for prospective tennents. The replies I got back from them were amazing and they pulled out of a deal prior to sorting the nesesary information out.. It was a joke...

Move from Surrey to Oxfordshire

Thank you so much Mark and Ryan at Redhill office of Connells. We found this agency really good and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them. They sold our house for us in Bletchingley and were excellent at keeping us informed at every step of the way regarding the progress of the sale. We had weekly updates even when there was not much to say. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with them.
