The real deal in a world of pain.

Getting an EWS1 certificate can be a huge pain in the backside. If you're trying to sell your flat, or remortgage it, you know this. The Scottish government is sitting on millions of pounds of UK taxpayers' money, not spending it nearly quickly enough to get building fire assessments carried out. It's a joke. So busy trying to break free from the rest of the UK that they've forgotten to govern the country they were elected to govern. But you already knew this, didn't you? It's why you're reading this. So: enter David Penman. At £1650 inc VAT per inspection, he's not cheap, but if you need an EWS1, that's good value in the great scheme of things. He's jumped on the EWS1 bandwagon, for sure... but why shouldn't he? He's devoted his life to assessing fire risks - hardly up there with designing Teslas or being an astronaut - and now his ship has come in, thanks to the crippling bureaucracy around EWS1s, the shadow of the SBA (Single Building Assessment) project, and the tiny number of suitably-qualified inspectors. The good news is, he plays it by the book, he's a stickler for detail, he's got all the right qualifications, and if you can work proactively with your factor and owners association to make sure that any inspection holes he needs to drill get filled up afterwards, almost certainly at your cost, he'll come and certify your high-rise block. I can attest to this - I'm in possession of a freshly-minted and legally-valid EWS1 certificate that he issued for my Edinburgh property this week. He doesn't do small talk - probably because he is a busy man - but he plays a straight bat and is, therefore, the real deal in a world of pain.

I approached David Penman of Fire Risk Design by phone to enquire. He called me right back and and gave me valuable information about the form required. The fee quote was very reasonable and, once the invoice was paid, the EWS1 for was sent over to me speedily.

EWS1 Advice

This company provided me with alot of advice and were very understanding as I am easily confused. I really appreciated it as it sometimes seems some other businesses (in general) are just out to take your money.
