The TAE cert iv certainly isn’t an easy course to complete. I had to learn a whole new language and although I was expecting to be taught how to teach, it’s nothing like that - more like learning how best to support our students and to present the information to them in a way they can understand. The support provided by Fortress was really good - I chose the middle package as a safety net just in case I needed it. Initially my trainer was Brian, an awesome mentor, huge experience and very helpful. He left last year, and my new mentor was Richard - again fabulous support, almost always available relatively quickly and able to point me in the right direction. Marking turnaround was typically 1-2 days - shorter than the advertised time too which also helped.

I have no hesitation in recommending Fortress Learning to anyone looking to further their VET journey.

I was happy with the process. As an experienced VET practitioner, I didn't want to repeat knowledge. Guidelines and support were communicated early in the process. Assistance was available when necessary. Assessments were marked in a timely manner with feedback supplied. Staff were approachable and friendly.

I did the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. It was horrendous. Copious amounts of work and exorbitant amount of cutting and pasting in the knowledge questions and answers. I really didn't learn anything. I love learning and I love teaching, but this course could put you off both!
I had the support package and did the course fully online, which was tough. The course itself required a lot more hours to complete than I envisaged. I've previously done a Bachelor Degree, Post Grad degree and another Cert IV and this course has a comparatively massive workload (particularly for a Cert IV). The only positive factor in all of it was my trainer Deb, who was fabulous. She was very positive and always willing to help and strategise a way forward.

The modules were easy to follow and access and the trainer's were approachable and accommodating

I've just completed my TAE40122 with Fortress, they provide excellent coaching and mentoring throughout the whole course as well as excellent student support for the more challenging stages of the course. I highly recommend the team at Fortress.

Support was great

I undertook the Cert IV TAE 40122 to ensure currency and maintain my accreditation. I elected to undertake the self-paced option as this was self-funded and in between full-time work. Fortress Learning helped develop a learning plan where I was able to have 3 units credited, leaving me 9 units to complete over 12 months. The RTO was not pushy after I enquired and honoured the pricing despite me commencing months later after engagement.

The pre-interview was pretty simple and no qualms. The person was professional and courteous throughout.

Access to the platform and its contents was super easy to navigate. The content was available, and you could do it in whichever order suited. I just followed the defined learning plan.

Although I did not need to access additional support, I did have to send emails to admin and the RTO's support as I experienced issues with my Google account to upload video recordings and zip as part of the submission. Odeza who helped me was super efficient and answered my email within 1 business day, sometimes within hours.

With the marking of my submissions, I believe the SLA was something like 5-7 business days? I can tell you that Fortress Learning were very efficient and assessors had my submissions marked quite quickly which I was surprised by given the SLAs. Despite units being singular, the assumed knowledge from the former is helpful for future units so it was appreciated that Fortress Learning swiftly assessed the submissions - usually within 2-3 days.

The overall experience of utilising Fortress Learning for my Cert IV was smooth and effortless. The RTO was genuinely really easy to deal with.

The most difficult thing would be locating the role players for the video for one of the assessments. This unit took much longer than anticipated. The best unit would be the online assessment one as this is done in groups and the Facilitator explained the task really well, was clear and engaging.

The team at Fortress Learning was there to encourage me to keep going and to meet with me to help me when I needed it.

They took personal interest in me and partnered with me in the process. I succeeded through a lot of hard work and the care shown to me by my advisor that went above and beyond anything I could have expected.

Content and embedded videos within the course could do with a refresh, but overall a very positive experience. Study and payment options were flexible, which fit in well with my circumstances. Always felt supported and all my enquiries were handled fairly and professionally.

They have experienced trainers and give ample feedback to help students learning experience simple and effective.
