My wife and I were looking to secure a mortgage since January this year. Being in our 40's and 4 dependants it proved very difficult with a number of brokers either not interested or half heartedly trying and never returning our messages.
We were introduced to Tara at Fowler Smith Mortgages and she was happy to take the time to understand our circumstances. We gave Tara everything she needed to help us secure a mortgage and last week we had the wonderful news that our mortgage application was successful. Tara worked relentlessly, communicated with us on a daily basis and every hurdle was overcome with Tara's exceptional determination and experience. Not only did Tara secure a mortgage, we were given 3 options to fit our circumstances.

Brilliant - Joanna recently helped me secure a mortgage. Newly divorced and having sold the marital home, I wasn't in a perfect financial place. Having operated in the property game for over a decade, I have never come across a mortgage company that operates like this. Service level, knowledge & their ability to deal with complex cases. We have leant on their expertise as a business to support our investment clients and have a blossoming relationship.

We have worked with many brokers in the past who are very surface level and it causes all kinds of problems for clients and our business at the back end. Fowler Smith really back up what they say and have a deep knowledge and understanding of the market and providing a the correct product for clients!

Jonathan and Natasha were fabulous and sorted my mortgage application very quickly. They were thorough, helpful and charming throughout and I’d highly recommend their services.

Joanna was amazing from start to finish. She was very attentive and took me and my partner through the process in a manor we would understand as we are first time buyers. The process is daunting enough but Joanna helped us along the way and kept us at ease with everything. We cannot thank her enough and the company as we probably we still be looking for mortgages.

I'm not one to write bad reviews, but I really must warn people not to use this company. They took £599 from me and when they were unable to secure a mortgage for me, they did not return it. I have waited for weeks for them to make things right with me, but sadly that has not happened. 

The worst part was that Charlie continued to lie to me and waste my time. I wrote directly to the lender (Vida Homeloans) and they emailed me to tell me that they had not heard from my mortgage broker (Charlie) for weeks. Meanwhile, Charlie was emailing me and calling me asking me to submit documents that did not exist, claiming that he had been in contact with them. The truth is that Vida Homeloans had told him weeks before that they had rejected me. I have written proof that he was lying and I now feel that it is appropriate to report him.

I cannot understand why someone would waste so much time talking to me after Vida Homeloans had already rejected me for a mortgage. If he had been upfront and just told me that I had been rejected, I could have accepted that. However, I run a business myself, and if I cannot provide the service they want, I refund them. It is the honourable thing to do. 

Charlie is friendly and a smooth talker; he genuinely did give me some good advice at the beginning of our communications. I just wish he had been honest with me when Vida Homeloans rejected me instead of wasting my time. His job is to communicate to the lender of my behalf, but the communication got so bad that I had to contact the lender directly to learn the truth.
