Had a great experience with Gareth James. Both Kash and Tomas were incredibly helpful and efficient and got us into a great one bed rental in Peckham within a week of us making an offer. Refreshing to work with such a great competent estate agent. Would recommend.

They provided an excellent service, the process was very efficient and we were kept us up to date throughout the process. All my emails were responded to very quickly and with clear direct response. We switched to Gareth James when renting our house out, and Kash and the team were great.
Not only did they quickly line up excellent new tenants within a few days, but they went above and beyond in helping us to manage some tricky tenants who were in the property when they took over... being fair, reasonable and professional throughout.

Nikki was fantastic and helped make buying my first home as easy and painless as possible! Quick to reply to emails, professional and helpful. Would recommend their services to anyone.

Gareth James Property were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. All of their staff were great to deal with from getting the listing up to the end of tenancy and there was always someone available to deal with any questions or issues. I'd highly recommend their lettings team to anyone in the area and am especially thankful to Tom for all of his help.

Gareth James Property are fantastic! Definitely use them. We have purchased through (twice) and sold through (once) with Gareth’s James and cant rate them highly enough! They are a local, community brand and their knowledge and expertise of Peckham is second to none. All of the house exchanges have been more complicated than usual and the team ( Specifically: Michael and Nikki and preciously, Maxwell) handled it with patience and professionalism. We literally couldn’t have got to the end without you, we now have our dream home in Peckham and hopefully won’t need to move again! But if we did, we would 100% recommend you using Gareth James. Incredibly easy and smooth experience. Local to Peckham and good knowledge of properties in the area. Turn around of 2 weeks from seeing the flat to being moved out. Kash was brilliant, can’t thank him enough.

Kash was massively helpful in my search for a new place to live. Suggesting places that would be a good match and gauging what I was looking for really well - and not spamming all remotely relevant properties my way (which can't always be said!). Put the extra effort in when it came to sorting viewings under time pressure too.

Kash and Heidi at Gareth James property did a fantastic job of renovating my property, finding new tenants, reletting my property under very tight timescales and difficult circumstances. Kash was creative about suggestions to improve the property to make it more attractive to prospective tenants and successfully obtained new tenants at a time when demand for properties was low. They both implemented the renovation plan quickly and efficiently, effectively managing the builders and furnishing the property well and at a reasonable cost. Kash knew what he was doing, understood my requirements and gave me confidence that he would deliver. He did. Heidi was highly diligent about the check out process, replacement of furniture and fittings and ensured that the new tenants were happy and comfortable. She spent a lot of time getting things right. Thanks to a very competent and capable team!

I have rented a property through the agency. Kash the agent was very helpful, as he gave me full details on the process, was available to every question, and dealt all the requests in an assertive way to both sides - us the tenants and the landlord.

This is the first time we have used an agency to find tenants for our flat, we interviewed several and found Kash and his team at GJM Property to be very professional, straight talking and not afraid to tell us where we could improve the flat for viewings and where we didn't, as well as being realistic with the valuation. True to their word they were able to find the quality of tenant we had been searching for but unable to find ourselves. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to friends.

Kash was very helpful and quick to reply and guide through us the rental process.

We put our property up for rent with Kash and had an excellent service. We received multiple offers on the first day of viewings and had tenants move in within a week. Emails were answered very quickly and they organised everything for us including cleaning, gas safety check and inventory check in the space of a few days. We are really impressed with how easy they made everything for us and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Withheld large mount from deposit with inflated costs for minor issues.

Gareth James have just rung me to ask how my property search is going - unsolicited and two months after they completely messed up 4 viewings on a house for myself and my friend. Two months ago, I travelled for over an hour to view one of their properties, only to be shown the wrong one. I came back to try to look at it again - though this time it was clear the tenant had not been informed that people were coming round. My friend arranged a viewing to see the property too - the first time Esta did not show up, so my friend went to Gareth James Queens Road branch - still no viewing - and when both my friend and I rang to confirm if her second attempt at viewing the property would go ahead, we were told the property had gone days ago. Esta was incredibly rude to me on the phone, saying she keeps all property details in her head and insisting that my friend doesn’t exist?! Bizarre. Now two months later, I get an unsolicited phone call from her asking how the property search is going! Avoid them at all costs - even by estate agents’ standards, they have no backbone.

Maxwell (from Gareth James, Nunhead location) was an absolute pleasure to work with. His professionalism, extensive knowledge and support was beyond what we have received from any real estate agent. He took his time with us, making the whole process of purchasing a house feel a lot more measured and with the right state of mind.

Myself and my partner have rented properties for many years and never before have we encountered such an absent and unreliable estate agency service. We had to follow up several times on almost every query, speaking to a different member of staff each time and having to re-explain every situation and question.

During our move we encountered many hurdles and felt largely unsupported by Gareth James staff, which was very surprising to us considering we had to pay considerable agency fees.

Communication was extremely poor and left us with a huge amount of personal belongings left in the property from before our tenancy, which we had to arrange removal of. It’s also worth mentioning that their cleaning staff left all of the gas hobs on for our arrival which was a lovely welcome!

It wasn’t all bad, however, we personally found Esther to be helpful and polite, which is a shame considering we were passed around so frequently and weren’t given one sole contact who was responsible for our case.

It wasn’t easy finding a property but when I called Gareth James, Esther was so helpful and was superb in finding us our first rental home. Esther was always available & was very patient with us (we always had loads of questions).
Esther was a delightful agent to work with & we’ve learnt that’s not common.
We strongly recommend contacting Esther for anyone looking for a home in SE15!
