Products and service are fine, apps not so much

The products and shipping turn-around time are good but your Aladdin connect iOS app needs some SERIOUS work. It’s really bringing the brand down. I absolutely hate it and wish your newer openers would work with the chamberlain myQ product as they’ve got a better solution. At the Very least just make it work with the nest app so I have a better experience.

Replacement Openers

The replacement openers work but periodically I have to push the button multiple times before the door will go up. Not sure if the problem is with the door, the opener, or the connection signal.

Having to press the button multiple times to activate the unit, could be a result of the door, radio frequency interference (caused from using non-Genie LED bulbs in the garage door opener) or a handful of other things. Lacking appreciation for customer…

Lacking appreciation for customer loyalty.

I moved into my home in 5/2018 and the garage door opener that had a problem was the Genie one.

Initially, when I figured out what was wrong...I ordered the part from the Genie website and made my fix. I subsequently found out that there was an additional problem and when I got back in touch to figure out if I could repair, or if I should just replace...I was met with a "eh...you could do whatever". In asking what products would make for an easier replacement by a novice...there was also very little color given.

Because of that, I tried a repair and ordered new parts again (one of them was to replace the part I had just recently replaced but had been broken by the other issue). Upon making the fix, I found out that this was turning into a situation where I might end up replacing all the parts!

When I said I wanted to make a return, so I could just buy a new Genie chain driven opener...I was told parts are not returnable if used. The only thing I did was to see if the new door limit trigger would stop the carriage (it didn't). I didn't even really install it...just hooked it up to the wire.

None of Genie's stances are incorrect....they just do not lead one to be desirous of having a longer term relationship with the company. With that said, I did install the new chain drive opener and the product itself is great. Just a small tweak in how they interact with their customers could make me a customer for life!

We really like the new Gene garage door…

We really like the new Gene garage door opener.
The instruction on programming were not correct.

Works perfectly

This was to replace my lost garage door opener. I bought another one and which did not work at all. This one works perfectly and has good build quality.
